Anyone that can discuss timings?

Hey Guys,

I've been into computers for about 15 years. Once thing that I've never understood was timings primary and secondary. How to overclock them? Is there a starting point?

I'm sorry if this seems to be a complex question since I would assume there's lot s of variables.

timings primary and secondary. How to overclock them? Is there a starting point?

I have another similar question, of why ASUS at P45 boards, while the SPD is there, secondary and third line of timings, this is always set to a bit faster timing?
I've been into computers for about 25 years, you may first inspect, if your board manipulate timings by setting faster values by it self.

OC translates that you have to set worst timings manually.
Long story in sort, even DRAM datasheets they offer specification at ns values, and not as numerical values that you might use at BIOS.
