Battlefield 2042

I played TDM a lot in BF4, feel of the weapons was great.
Parcel Storm, Zavod 311 and Golmud Railway were my favorites. Lots of cover and vegetation.

Yeah it was two games in one which is why I played it a lot. Look a while to fix it up though. With this it is more like 1 game for me, and it doesn't even have a SP mode to dabble in.

I'll still give it a try but after the beta and everything so far it looks "meh".
 
I'm not going to even re-sub my EA Play for this trash, that's how bad it is. I won't even spend $14 for a month for it. Between Halo & COD there are better multiplayer FPS games out right now. Sure, they aren't like BF, but this game is so broken it's irrelevant. I'd rather just re-install and deal with all the flaws and low player count Planetside 2 has or just do BF4.

levelcap has been using those spotting grenades to level up fast. i dont know if he mentions it in the video but I watched his stream.
 
It will take time to get polished but by that point in the future a certain amount of players will have already moved on

Sundance can jump off a low hill or just something high enough to deploy the wingsuit and you can glide across the map with instant 80mph+ speed.

And that is why I had little interest until Portal, even if that itself is meh. Already redeemed my key so no going back. Will try it out eventually, but I can safely say I would prefer a mode that disabled all class abilities.
 
IMO for conquest and breakthrough they need to just make it normal classes.

Portal is broken though. Cant use the weapon customization on the fly and the xp has been nerfed. Also limited maps, no persistent dedicated servers makes it a novelty mode at best. I mean, new visuals but the textures in this game are awful.
 
Was watching twich after playing tonight and heard there are all out warfare 90 player portal servers that are good. less chaos and better performance. I used up the last of my 10 hours tonight so didn't get a chance to look for them.

Holy fuck that was funny. His reactions are always over the top but I think that is the most ropeable I have ever seen him, which is understandable seeing as BF2042 looks to be DICE's worst clusterfuck yet.

This is probably the last Battlefield game they will ever make. Unless they can patch the shit out of this game?

That sounds good. I have about 2 hours left but that's only if I can find a server because DICE decided closing down servers was a good idea.

Steam play count is not accurate. Vast majority will be directly through ea play.
 
Shame, I had fun last night. A fully crewed super hind with a good pilot is a blast. Still haven't done much with hazzzzzard zone or portal.
 
Another thing is, if you try to spawn on a teammate, you can't because they are in combat like BF4.
But it goes deeper than that. On a 128 player server your squad member 90% of the time will be "in combat".
Also without map zoom, often squad members are stacked on the objective, so you can't spawn on a teammate or on the captured objective.

Everyone in your squad dies and now you have to start from the base. But that's another thing, squad members often don't respawn into the game until one person in the squad starts at the base and does the running or get a vehicle, to get them closer to the objective because the maps are too big. Squad wipes happen often in Breakaway and this is frustrating for me.

There needs to be a proximity spawn system because of the player count. A player should spawn in proximity to the squad or have a deploy radius around captured objective to prevent not being able to get back in the game.
Also, in a 128 player game, why do we only have 4 people to a squad when there are 10 specialists? There should be 8 players to a squad, one specialist type per squad. That will make squad wipes more difficult and prevent specialist saturation.

This stuff is so simple to understand.

I've yet to really play this, but so far not looking so good. Server browser seems to be based off of the broken BF1/BF5 thing which doesn't have many options and only returns a handful of servers. Maybe a lot less people played those games, but BF3 and BF4 would return dozens upon dozens of browsers at their peak. I think it has more to do with Battlelog being a functional browser that showed all options.

Edit: What is up with the lack of good servers? Anything moderately populated has a 150+ ping. West coast USA on my end.

Every server in portal is a player made server. None of them are dedicated servers :/

    General consensus seems to be the audio design is bad, especially compared to both BF3 and BF1.

    Less impactful soundtrack (menu music is very dull and repetitive)
    End of round music is dull and uninteresting (compared to BF1 and V this is a big downgrade)
    End of round voicelines are just awful. I can't describe how much I hate them. (Tried to keep the rest of the list objective, but I had to add this. You guys understand)
They went to complete shit sometime after the release of Star Wars Battlefront 2. Most of the stuff "downgraded or removed" will never be "fixed" or addressed since it's part of the core development of the game.
If anyone thinks this game will be fixed in a year, they literally would have to do entire re-development of parts of the game just like FF14 A Realm Reborn did.
You think the company that gives you Madden, FIFA roster updates for $60 a year and nothing more will be committed to that kind of effort? LOL

THERES LITERALLY ENTIRE BRIGADES OF VEHICLES SITTING ON TOP OF BUILDINGS ROFLSTOMPING ANYTHING IN THE AIR OR GROUND BECAUSE OF THE STUPID CALL IN SYSTEM ALLOWING IT.

Some stuff they can fix. They can fix the vehicles on top of buildings thing. They can patch in a better UI, etc.

I agree though, you can’t fix the specialist crap. They’re committed to that trash.
 
When hopping in a tank it automatically starts in 3rd person above the vehicle. Yuck.

This is Battlefield, supposed to be viewed from inside the tank in first person mode.

Is there a setting to always be in first person view in vehicles?
 
Bought the game for both my son and I.

PC

I see his name in the Social Menu, I right click mouse to join, but it never joins always says an error.

He tries to join me from his computer, same error.

Few times it does allow us to join each other, map starts loading up, but right before it gets us into the game map, it stops and goes back to the menu part with your character.
 
Ok these 1942 classic maps are great. Playing the old school style Battlefield with modern graphics is fun.

This is WW2 done way better than BFV

with 8 players to a squad it will be impossible to wipe out a squad. it will be just endless people respawning. but I do think we should have larger squads. anyway, you can double click on the player's name to spawn on them or just click once to select them on the map. I haven't had much trouble spawning on people.
