Battlefield 2042

the driver that was released on oct 26th said it was game ready. and I think that video was taken after so.
Wow, kind of shocked they released it that early. Usually they release game ready drivers the week or day of the game..

I will have to test this out myself. This game might make DLSS Quality setting the to go setting for 1440p/4k people.

it does say game ready for bf2042 early access. so maybe there will be another driver leading up to the 19th. I'm going to check gpu load in gpu-z tomorrow.

I’m getting pretty hyped for this game. The last BF that i was really in to was BF4. I played BF1 and BFV but they were both short-lived love affairs. The gameplay footage I’ve watched of 2042 reminds me of BF3 and BF4, and I’m so ready to go back to something along those lines.

Yep. BF3/BF4 is definitely back. Impressed so far watching a few streams of the various maps. And the graphics somehow more impressive overall than the narrow impression from the beta. Like Renewal's rocky area on the desert side with the photogrammetry terrain and textures, the lighting, all incredible.

Also not seeing most of the weird bugs and quirks that were present in beta. I'm sure people will find shit to gripe about, but rumors of "its just gonna be totally broken at launch" may have been miscalculated. Possible there are issues I just haven't noticed, still very early.

It sort of resembles those games graphically, but gameplay wise id say it's been made easier, even the movement speed at least in the "beta" felt on the fast side, add to that having people sliding around the map like theyre on rollerblades. Vehicles are also dumbed down from those games with them not taking damage to tracks to slow movement etc. Plus the vehicles regen to 100% by themselves.

If you want a good laugh read the Steam Forums about now nobody knows what to expect hell the game might not launch later tonight. My favorite thread is a guy putting down Vanguard but people say its awesome.

How was time to die (TTK?) in 2042? I'm really not liking how quickly you die in BF1 and BF5, it's just not too fun - die within 1-30 seconds of spawning anywhere due to the small areas and maps. Wondering if to even bother with BF2042

I don't think its much different. sound like you need to play conservatively. aka camp. smaller servers help too.

Incase you slept Steam board at launch

Well, at least they fixed the frametime spikes, so it's playable compared to the beta. But otherwise, it's still a disappointing train wreck of a game.

Is this worth a buy? No lags ,no stuttering because is multi ....?

Team Deathmatch might be worth it looks like the people on Youtube are shooting at Ants. Not sure if the know how to spawn vechicals. Totally unfair for the clueless person on the the receiving end.

Thanks. Last game multi was Quake 3 Arena when i played lol :D

Games buggy as fuck as usual, multiple crash to desktop at the start of rounds where the game is doing some little zoom animation into the map. Panzer 4 tanks on the 1942 maps are bugged as their crosshairs are weirdly offset like someone forgot to line them up properly.

All in all, the standard dice release, a game released weeks if not months early.

really so bad?

People are saying to refund on Steam since I payed for the game via Steam Wallet I can still do it 3 months out even.
I looked and I purchased the game way back in June. I mean I just picked up Elden Ring and COD Vanguard both I know
which will be excellent games.

Update: Just refunded think I still get it refunded if you payed Steam wallet you can still get a refund any other method you can't refund
a preorder. See what happens maybe they revoke my refund ability but if you have guys just crying about the game on Steam
I rather play something else that wasn't going to be a Battle Royale game originally.

Keep in mind you don't need to buy this, you can just do a month of Play Pro. If you don't like it, just use your time with Mass Effect Legendary Edition, etc..

Did my first match.. This game is a mess currently. I see the potential here, but man, EA just can't release solid games at release anymore. You have to give it to Activision, the Call of Duty games now are generally rock solid at release.

Wow performance in this game is atrocious. At 4K ultra settings, my overclocked 3090 is dipping as low as 70 FPS which to me is unplayable. Would need a GPU twice as fast to properly run my 4K/144 Hz PG32 monitor. So I need like a RTX 5090 or 6090 GPU?

DLSS looks terrible in the game and hardly provides a performance boost.

70 FPS with all the highest settings at 4K resolution is atrocious, now?

Just got my refund the best part my refund warning went away with this refund =) So if you wait about two months or so without refunding the warning will go away.Battlefield 2042 skew fest... it pays to have a Steam Wallet balance I buy Steam cards all the time at work I'll pick up a few on lunch break I used to be able to get a 10% discount on them but not anymore. I think the discount work at www.walmart.com though employee discount.

Uh ya. BFV Ultra I would get 130-140 FPS. No way the graphics of BF2042 warrant half the performance of BFV.

Probably the larger maps causing the hit, though the 2042 maps are nothing to write home about visually. Pretty bare bones for the most part.

Alright played 2 maps so far, and I gotta admit I am shocked how well it runs. I can max out everything (HBAO OFF) and DLSS on quality and I get between 80-95FPS most of the time. It also is running smooth as butter for me.

I dunno but I think the reason we aren't getting as good as framerate as some people would like...The size of the map and the people on the screen. 64 players compared to 128 players. That right there will cause a performance hit.

huh interesting. I went from 70-80ishfps with no DLSS to 80-95fps with quality turned on. I could not tell the difference in IQ either.

I am running at 4k on the Oled. Now I did turn off HBAO, but thats the only option I turned off.

What does that matter if BF2042 graphics aren't really any better?
Well I mean I can tell the graphics are better. The maps are bigger and the amount of users playing on a single map has doubled. In 3 years I expected BF2042 to tax our 3090's, which it is.

Eh, I think that's placebo. BFV was/is a pretty damn good looking game. Nothing in BF2042 on Ultra has made me go "wow this is amazing". I've tested on empty servers, the amount of players in BF2042 doesn't really affect the low FPS/high GPU utilization.

I think it comes down to a crap implementation of DX12. Although; I've never been impressed with DX12 which is crap compared to Vulkan.

Still haven’t been able to get into an all out warfare map. Get an error about a persistent connection. Played one portal game that was over in 5 mins. Played 2 hazard zone games, got rocked in the first one, second one my team didn’t show up so I went in by myself and died. This is a terrible game so far
