I tried making a club last night after the option opened up but I kept getting a server error message.
 
I bought the Ultimate package last night, played the first 5 minutes on my 27" 1440p monitor just to make sure it was working at 1am after I installed it. Had to get up at 6 am for son to school and work so sadly I powered down.

When I get out of work, it will be 3090 + OLED (48c1 4k 120 HDR) till 3am. I haven't been this excited for a game since I got a copy of xenoblade 1 for my birthday on the wii sooooo many years ago.

It is so Beautiful.

It's no C1 but I'm playing on a 75" Sony X900H and surround system. It is definitely a good step up from H4 which I was literally playing up until the moment 5 unlocked. I think the audio is impressing me the most. There's a detail and richness to it that the previous versions just didn't have.
 
What's with the complete lack of an HDR calibration option? They just give two random sliders with no real explanation of what the values mean or reference images. I guess it would have made too much sense for them to keep the existing and functional HDR calibration menu they had in FH4... Why do game developers love removing features from their games when they develop sequels?

what type of performance at what settings can you pull down running 3 x 4k displays in fh5?

Yeah, gaming on a quality oled panel is a game changer ever since lcd's ruined the display industry. It has taken us almost 20 years to get back to the level of quality that crt's used to provide.
 
It definitely looks fantastic - I'm running it on a 55" C9 OLED. The game recommended Extreme settings so I just left it at that. Benchmark gave me 75fps average @ 4K. I have an 8086K and a 3080.

Not the fanciest setup but I have a playset challenge with a Thrustmaster T150. Wheel works great with the game, been having a lot of fun tonight.

On Xbox it is supposed to use your system HDR calibration settings. Anybody know if there is such a thing in Windows 11? Pretty sure there isn't one for Windows 10.

Curious, did you play FH4 with a wheel? Did they actually put some effort into the wheel settings? I could not for the life of me get my wheel to feel remotely useful in FH4..
 
I've seen it on stream, and the first mission is so much like NFS Payback that I almost had deja vu. Then later it is exactly like FH4. So now I'm not as excited so I can easily wait for it to unlock on 9th.

I did not. This is the first game I've really given a good try with the setup. Totally unaware of issues FH4 had.

I am having some issues with losing the rear end with RWD cars. I figured that was more due to me than the wheel setup since I turned off most of the driving aids. Might have to use the controller for a bit to compare.
 
I'm gonna wait till the 9th i guess, its already almost here, Anyone else have anymore experience with wheels? I have simucube 2 an i have heard nothing but bad, but i went into buying this game with zero intention of a wheel working after what has happend in the past. All this talk about a nice TV/Monitor has me wanting one i just am a person that has to see what im getting before i buy an i dont know anyone near buy with a setup so im on the newest samsung 55" 4k xmas special lol.

all FH games have been super over steery so this doesnt suprise me. Whats everyone favorite cars so far??

Yep. I set it to solo as it constantly does the "disconnected" countdown. every 30 seconds or so. Cant do auctions.

"find the downed plane" is permanently stuck on my screen even though I completed that ages ago.

and even though I play with an xbox controller, the mouse stays on screen.

I know in FH4 anytime you would alt+tab or click out of the game it would disconnect you, i dont remember the exact procedure to fix it but it was in the privacy setting in windows. An it was the only game i had ever experienced that in.
 
Seems like multiplayer outside of Horizon Life is okay. I was able to complete the coop series seasonal challenge with no issues.

not at the house atm but here is a vid of a buddy playing FH4 on a 1080 non-Ti @ the same res. FH4 was the only modernish game that I could play at this res without major down scaling of details. FH4 on a gtx 1080 ran on high settings.. 2080TI I maxed on ultra settings. FH5 has the same option for scaling (I forget what it's called atm) but it works well. I have a 65 LG CX in the living room but still prefer this setup. Peripheral vision adds so much to racing games.

Got all boards, roads, areas, barn finds, 3-starred all PR stunts (speed traps, speed zones, danger signs, trailblazers, drift zones), and already have enough accolades to unlock the whole game. Just blazing through this time. Despite some of the bugs I'm having the most fun I've had since FH2. They got really clever with some of the bonus board placement this time around.
 
i usually go for all of the roads first because if you wait its very very difficult since 95% of the road will be lit up and one small sliver will screw you. I have one road left but literally cannot find it on the map. There was a period where i got booted from online and it wasnt registering but somehow got the achievement or it? After that i go for the house that gives me fast travel then get the fast travel boards so i can fast travel for free
 
You guys are going to have all the Forza Rewards completed before they even show up on the website.

I do it first for the same reasons. The game also still has the same issue where the highlight is a fixed size, so if you don't drive completely through an intersection you can easily screw yourself later looking for that last piece.

I also got the achievement at like 572 roads of 578.

Same, I spent a ton of time this weekend unlocking as much as I could so I can get to being able to relax and enjoy the game any way I want and not have to worry much about money. This game truly is amazing. I literally just drove around for 2 hours after work today and had a blast. Didn't go after any objectives, just drove around like a mad man doing whatever I wanted and trying new things out. Unlocked all sorts of random accolades and smashed previous speed trap, speed zone and danger sign records. My favorite car, the McLaren P1 got huge engine sound improvements compared to FH4, especially from inside the car. With all the failed and delayed game launches this year, it's good to see a great release. It's definitely got a lot of bugs still, but most are minor and the AMD drivers work very well. I'd say, without a doubt, FH5 lived up to the hype. Can't wait to see how the game evolves over time and what new stuff comes out and what community creations come up with. The money and exp routes are pretty nuts.
 
I can't believe they haven't figured out how to make the cinematics fill the screen on ultrawide monitors. Or they just couldn't be bothered?

I played 30 minutes, then the game developed some weird audio issue, where everything sounds robotic, so I basically can't play. Restarting the game fixes it for 1 minute then it's back to garbled again.
 
I played 12 hours straight Saturday going into Sunday and didn't run into any issues.

Apparently people have figured out that the MB Willy's Jeep has a cheap Super Wheelspin on its mastery tree, so people are buying it new for 40,000 credits to get the wheelspin and then gifting them at barn find areas to get the skill points back. A good way to get cars and credits before they patch it out. People who just start playing today are going to get swamped with gifted Jeeps.
