So I am looking for a good quiet 10-keyLESS keyboards that are quiet? In other words NOT mechanical. I don't understand the craze about "mechanical"? I can't stand the loud noise. I want it to be quiet as possible. I don't care about the feeling of the cilck. I just want as quiet as possible with RGB & 10-keyless. Please let me know if you know of any decent keyboards. Cheaper the better as I'm not a keyboard snob. Thank you.

Not mechanical? Don't care about feeling of the click? Well then.

I like my ThinkPad KT-1255 Bluetooth keyboard.
Is it completely quiet?

I can't stand the noise of clicking in this new "mechanical" craze. It drives me nuts. The last thing I want a noisey clicking keyboard lol where are all the quiet options?

Heck no, click? What for? I don't need a loud clack every time I press the keyboard. The feeling of the click is fine, the noise is unacceptable. Just noise pollution. I don't have a silent watercooled rig to have a LOUD CLACKING keyboard ruin the quietness lol I throw people outta my discord for having noisy clicking keyboards. Ridiculous trends nowadays lmao

Anyway, my recommendation was gonna be to go with one of these with red switches and put some o-rings on it. I use one for my Shield in the living room and its fantastic, also small enough that I can throw it in my laptop bag when I want to game with my laptop because I absolutely cannot stand my laptops keyboard.
But, its mechanical. Quiet after o-rings and i'll likely try lubing it because its cheap enough that I don't care about losing a few switches if I fuck up lubing, but we live in different worlds when it comes to keyboards, apparently.

Something with brown switches should be quiet enough. TLK is niche as it is in the mechanical world (don't get me started about the BS 60% craze). Good luck finding a membrane TKL keyboard.

I thought red was the quietest? or is it brown? If i had a choice it wouldn't be mechanical at all. I just wish "mechanical" never became a trend. The mechanicalness doesn't make a bit of difference for me gaming at all. None. Not even 1%. All it does it add noise.

Any non-mechanical 10 keyless QUIET keyboards? (with rgb would be nice)

Ya that thing has almost 10k 4 1/2 star reviews it must be nice. You have that one?

Yeah, picked one up recently. I haven't done too much on it, definitely not full time use, but for gaming on my laptop to replace my laptop's shitty ass keyboard its been way more than worth it. It's a lot quieter than the blue-switch mechanical that its replacing, but that's because I realized that I absolutely cannot function without dedicated arrow keys. I still hate the placement of the ? key but its been far less annoying to me than not having dedicated arrow keys.

Also its RGB which is always fun.

I wish it didn't have so many unique function key controls on it so I could replace more keycaps, but that's a personal situation and if you don't want to customize your keycaps as much as I do, absolutely nothing to worry about. The installed keycaps are fine.

Make sure you keep that tiny bit of paper that comes with it and mentions what the hell all the functions do though. There's a LOT of hardware functions on the keyboard and no software so its a bit much unless you have an idea of what they all do.

I just bought this for work. It's mechanical, but perfect. Get the Cherry silent Red version.

My regular keyboard at home is twice that price. This is [H], not Toms. What kind of recommendation were you expecting?
Why spend 125 or 250 on a keyboard? I just spend 1700 on a 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra Hydrocopper so i spend where i feel i can realize the benefits. But hundreds on a keyboard? There has got to be inexpensive alternatives that perform the same functions with comparable quality. In keyboards spending more doesn't always mean better.

High quality comfortable peripherals are an investment in your mental and physical health. They are worth every penny!
Comfortable yea for sure, expensive? I don't believe it has to be. There are surely lower priced options just as confortable and perform similarly.

Try this one then? https://www.amazon.com/NPET-Keyboard-G10-Professional-Compatible/dp/B078754DCK

It's cheap enough that I wouldn't be guilty if it turns out sucky.
That's more like it! 18 bucks haha so It's red switch so it should be quiet? Also the good thing about it is if I dont like It I can return it for a full refund. I'll consider giving this one a shot. It has 22,000 review at 4 1/2 stars unanimously giving it positive reviews. I'll read the reviews thanks for the heads up dude.

Well there are (relatively) inexpensive graphics cards that perform the same functions with comparable quality as the one you happily spent $1,700 on, so what is the issue here?

So you'll pay an obscene amount of money for a silent graphics card, but $125 for a keyboard is unfathomable?
Well my point was I'll pay for something I can tell the difference in performance. I'm not convinced an expensive keyboard performs better than a similar one with the same technology and clicking feel and design etc. I don't even like the clicking feeling of a mechanical keyboard. I prefer dead silent keyboards but because of the marketing trend of "mechanical" it is harder to find silent keyboards. Also i had a 2080Ti like you before I sold it to offset the cost of the 3080Ti so you know they don't come cheap lol especially particularly graphics cards that are in shortage, keyboards are not which is besides the point.

To be honest, I find spending extra on a mouse is miles better than a keyboard.

Diminishing returns on a keyboard comes quick, and even $50 or so mech keyboards are solid for gaming for the general populace. Above that you get stuff like macros and advanced stuff that most people don't really need, and comfort doesn't improve much as well.

Mice though, you really get what you pay for.

This, exactly what I'm saying lol ty.

Membrane (as opposed to mechanical) tenkeyless keyboards? Well, the only such keyboards that I have ever been able to find all use chiclet keys with very little travel - the same kind of keys as you'll find on laptop computers. It is much, much more difficult to find tenkeyless keyboards with full-travel membrane dome keys. And every single tenkeyless keyboard that I have ever been able to find with full-travel keys are all mechanical - and all of those are noisy to varying degrees, some more obnoxious than others.

In other words, pick your poison: Either put up with the noise or an unpleasant laptop-like typing experience.

While the travel on the laptops keys are too short, I appreciate how they are actually silent. I don't need full travel, but laptop travel is rather short. something in the middle would be perfect?

So far I have found this one that I use and is sort of like a midway point where it is silent and about halfway keys not like a laptop and definitely not mechanical

I'm just wondering if there is anything better than this.

ok.. I'm not here to tell the op what to do.. but man that last super cheap membrane keyboard looks terrible to me. I have a $180~ish keyboard set up in the form of a Filco MT2 TKL mx-red keyboard + vortex pbt keycaps. I got this in 2014~ (i think) it is at least 6/7~ years old. It is basically bomb proof the keys all worked perfectly when I got it and had consistent feel through the keyboard and all of that is still true today. I have gone thru 3 or 4 video cards while keeping this keyboard the whole time. If dividing the $180 acquisition costs over say 7 years of usage (this is the number of years I'm pretty sure is correct.. maybe closer to 8 now) the cost is $25 per year.. Additionally at this point I see no signs that this keyboard won't last another 7 or 8yrs and more? ... at which point it would be more like $11 per year..

The filco has o-rings installed on it and with "proper" typing techniques I bet it is quieter than most membrane boards..it isn't loud anyways. Up to all y'all but investing in a quality keyboard seems better to me than having some cheap board quit working right after a few months / years / or even right out of the box.. the reviews of the super cheap mech keyboards I have read seem to suggest quality control is "spotty" at best.

again do what y'all want... but I have zero regrets about buying the filco, and no plans to replace it anytime soon.

You can purchase rubber rings to use on any switch but it won't be as quiet as a membrane keyboard. I settled on a membrane for work ans mech for home use. I like the thump they make haha

I just picked up the Fnatic miniStreak with Cherry Red silent switches. It's quieter than the Logitech G Pro it replaced. Not really silent, but definitely less clicky.

I'm been using a Tecware Phantom TKL for a few years, less than $50 and pretty quiet linear keys.

I have currently:
CM Storm QuickFire TK - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A378L10

Nice, but ultra bright blue caps/scrl/etc LEDs. That one is 10-key (modified, integrated arrow keys, etc), but is available as tkl in another model. Maybe a bit expensive.

And:
EPOMAKER SKYLOONG SK61
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088F4SXXF

Much more featureful, and a bit less expensive. Quality control is hit-or-miss (first one was missing all the assembly screws, though otherwise functional and undamaged). This model is 60%, so no number row, arrow keys, etc. Just modifiers, space, esc, enter, fn.. Does support custom maps, if you feel like messing with their software.

Both are silent (or nearly silent) if you don't bottom out the keys. They can be made quieter with orings. Edit: oh, I got the brown switch version of both, btw.

I've had the same Filco Majestouch tenkeyless with Cherry Brown switches for about 10 years, still going strong and totally worth the investment. Not long ago I put o-rings on it and some thicker keycaps -- it's extremely quiet now, but you still get the nice tactile bump.

The quietest keyboards will be like the Logitech above using rubber dome or scissor type switches as you see in most laptops . Not my favorite but some people flat out prefer them. To each their own.

Used this one for years, but currently using a razer keyboard. (Still have it for a backup) Not super quiet, but wasn't too bad imho.

That keyboard doesn't seem to be available any more.
From what's in stock at Amazon USA, I'd pick something like the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL "whisper quiet" (there are multiple options on this keyboard) if I was on a tight budget and wanted a quiet TKL ($45). That's a well rated membrane TKL (13k reviews 4.7 rating) which is going to be making no noise from switches (the mechanical action of the key bottoming out will still make sounds). There are some review videos directly linked on the amazon page where they go over build quality (OK, a little bit of flex which all keyboards at this price point have) and the noise (seems quite quiet from having listened to keyboard review sounds and the db level readings) if you want to check it out.
My TKL cost $150 so I'm looking at this going whatta steal, but if I had to put in an expense report for a work keyboard I'd keep the cost way down and pick a quiet keyboard.
