[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

A card hunter never gives up, scored a 3080 FTW3 / 2070 S last week...two 3060 tis this week would have been too good to be true I suppose.

I didn't get these bstock notifications last week or any previous week. They are new to me and the rest of the thousands of people following certain channels now getting them.

Is that what scalpers are calling themselves now? Card Hunters?

Why would anyone in their right mind allow someone to just make a new account and start selling stuff. Usually thats just bad news. Thats why. Youll be shipping first with no heatware unless you have heatware anyways. So prepare for that. Nobody is going to send money to someone new on the forum with no heatware.

I've been here almost 20 years (edit: OVER 20 years shit wow) and I have no heatwave (I do however have 400+ (+) on an active eBay account someone could message "ayooo are you kent@[H] -- why yesssss I am

I ain't sending a mf thing to ANYONE up front unless they send PayPal G&S. I'd never ask for CashApp, Venmo, Zelle, FBM, etc etc -- if I try to sell something here it'll be very clearly with PayPal G&S but don't think because someone has no Heatwave they're not a decent person.

edit: 2600th post ha

Looks like 15% off Newegg code (max $50) available in the Android GPay app. You install GPay, tap the lower left Explore (pricetag) icon, and get the Newegg code.

Yes paying more then MSRP for current gen stuff for used/refurbished last gen stuff is dump.

Complaining because you don't understand supply and demand or what a SUGGESTED retail price is is dumperer. The MSRP has changed all year on gpus. What MSRP are you going off the pre release msrp?

Not necessarily, sometimes "card hunters" are looking to run crypto, which is probably even worse.

Bad week continues. Was in AMD queue in 1 min, everything in stock and then the million captcha hell started, got squat 🤬

The other night I went to the Zotac store.. noticed a que line.. which was new to me.. I figured something must be going on.. sure enough I got in and scored a 3080 card.. $1200.. expensive, but it's either this with a warranty or getting a scalped card without one.

Prices are only going up. EVGA just raised the price of the FTW3 3090 by $20, just before I got my card to StepUp.
$10-20 changes are happening now but will get larger as time goes on. So $1200 is high but hey, you got the opportunity to buy one, unlike many others.

According to EVGA, this is due to increase global shipping cost which is beyond their control but some very low availability cards like 3080 Ti XC3 Gaming didn't get a price increase but 3080 Ti FTW did get a $20 bump.

FWIW, the local microcenter staff say things have gotten worse. They're only getting shipments a couple times a week now and it seems like the rumor mill is saying AMD is going to taper production as well. Stockx price history backs up the price increases as well. About a $100 price increase for some of the lower end cards on the secondhand market after prices bottomed out at about 1.5x - 2x MSRP. The only thing I see solving the GPU supply issue in the near-term is if ETH 2.0 is released on time and if it goes well. I'm very skeptical of that though and although it would probably push a lot of miners out of the game, it might not be the end of the world for GPU mining either.

I sure picked a nice freaking time to try and build a gaming rig, didn't I? I need to do something though, I haven't had a rig in 10 years and been using a Chromebook and a tablet for far too long.

This is like a collection of notification bots. Filter out only what you want to see.
(zotac queue is nightly around 8PM EST I believe, but this notifies you of basically everything)
They have rtx 3060's, 3080s, and 3080 TIs / 3090s in stock right now.
offerup (lots of scams, only meet in person)
craigslist (ditto)
amd.com (thursday 9AMish)
newegg shuffle (1 out of 40 or so chance to win)
For Sale forum here
microcenter (open box returns)

These are my main recommendations on how to get cards nowadays without camping out / driving yourself mad.

I don't know what AMD's AiB partners are thinking. The prices for their cards are already insane at MC and they sit on the shelves as is.

I confirmed my shipping address, chose shipping option and.....NOPE.

They should reserve it for you if you get that far. so dumb.

B stock was very very hard today atleast they are implementing some account level checks though, could not check out a 2070 S Black because I bought the same model in the past month.
Lost those juicy 3060 Ti XCs again...

A year into this ordeal and they finally implemented something to try to distribute their cards even a tiny bit away from a few people getting all of them? I guess it's nice to know that they're at least thinking about it since apparently this shit-show won't be ending any time soon.

Looks like Best Buy has switched consoles to in-store only now.

Wow only took them I don't know how long to figure this shit out. Lets make sure all the scalpers across the country get their fair shake first and foremost... then lets switch over to allowing only the most dedicated scalpers to sell.

I mean they totally could slow scalpers down too by only selling to those with state issued identification and you only get one, whether it's PS5 or 30 series card etc.

Why would they care? In the end as long as they are getting paid, I doubt they give 2 cents. This in store only policy is purely for PR purposes.
