The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

The perfect monitor product doesn't exists , everything is a compromise.

something rubbed me wrong about the FI32U
Then you have not been listening to those of us who have it.

Unless you are one of the folks who have a specific use-case requiring it to display three simultaneous images - one each from your Xbox and PS along with two CPUs on one pc feeding the third, in a seemlessly borderless configuration along with built-in surround sound and a dial phone mount on the side?

Viewsonic XG320U vs Asus PG32UQ ? If it is basically the same thing, which would you choose and why?

I've followed along, however the PG32UQ is close enough now in terms of release timeframe and potential price proximity to FI32U, that I'm happy to just wait a little longer for PG32UQ.

Also, I'm butthurt that I missed the $899 presale price window on the FI32U. So there's that. I almost never make any purchase decision based on any kind of rationality, you see.

I'm actually waiting for the M32U instead which will probably be $700-800 but offer 95% of the FI32U.

Yeah that one's definitely interesting. Looks like the exact same panel in both; only diff I can see is the tolerance for "# of dead pixels to qualify for return" is lower on the M32U (3 pixels) vs the FI32U (1 pixel)? Can't see any other differences. Would definitely buy several M32U's.

Having the UQnotX about to hit the street is pretty damn good. Frankly - I'll be watching for the difference between it and the Viewsonic as they were the panels I was most interested in, originally.

Then the Gigabyte showed up and was pretty darn good. I just lost patience with VS and Asus... And thus far I don't regret the purchase

According to Viewsonic, the XG320U will hit online stores around mid october.

Are there any 144hz 4K 32" monitors with a native g-sync module in the pipeline? It's embarrassing that most g-sync compatible/freesync monitors lack variable overdrive. Even some of the Asus monitors with adaptive overdrive have lackluster implementations.

Asus PG32UQX available now but it has Mini led so it costs $3k.

Gigabyte M32U up on B&H and Newegg. No price on Newegg but $799 on B&H.

Nice. Looking forward to some reviews on this thing, after watching the HUB review on the FI32U that really doesn't seem worth the money since it's quite a bit worst than the M28U yet costs over 50% more just to go from 28 to 32".

Why does Gigabyte have the M32U and the FI32U? They seem almost identical

Found this on reddit so take it for whatever its worth
"M32U has a non-RGB layout panel and the FI32U has a normal RGB layout"

I'll take the Asus PG32UQ, but will still have to wait a few years for the perfect 32". I've been using a 4K 32" Samsung for a good while now, the PG32UQ is at least 75% of what I'm looking for, and that's a lot better than it has been.

If so... Yuck.
FI32U is a good production monitor - text is super crisp.

M32U just going for the gamer segment?

That's awful if so.... I'm still debating between 28 and 32 inches but that makes getting the cheaper 32 a no go.

You need to stop this debating, and I mean right now! Later, you'll realize how crazy this was. If ya want, come over here and I'll smack ya upside your head. It's kinda like a Ctrl-Alt-Del for bipeds. It'll snap you right out of this nonsense. 32" is the right size for a monitor. Everything else is too big or too small.

Let's go boys. M32U preorder

Edit: WTF Newegg?

HDR400 is ridiculously low
Meh, office/productivity and work stuff on it would be the focus. Gaming and movies will be handled by LG CX OLED's, which IMO can't be beat except on lack of smaller size options.

God help me if OLED ever came in 32", I'd have one in every room and both bahtrooms.

It might not be that far, LG 27" OLED UHD 27EP950-B Monitor, so a 32'' might not be that far out. One thing is for sure, its going to be expensive.

LG 32" OLED monitors are already out. https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32ep950-b-oled-monitor

Expensive indeed and only 60Hz with no VRR.

Picking monitors has to be one of the more difficult tech purchases for me, especially when there is so much information from people about their experiences.

I took a chance on the Predator XB323QK.

Coming from a 3007wfp, this thing is blazing like the sun. I would probably start crying or sneezing looking at the PG32UX. All I needed was 4k 32" 144Hz and good color. Im happy with the purchase. Price could be better, but not nearly as high as what I paid for the 3007 when it came out. That stung more back in the day.

I recently returned a FV43U. It was a great display in a lot of ways, but I need better text rendering for my coding job and 43" was just too big for my room.

Thinking of picking up the FI32U, but is it worth waiting for the PG32UQ? Is that supposed to be a big improvement even though it's the same AU panel?

The XV322QK also looks intriguing, and a similar price. Is it basically the same as the XB323QK but without lighting and a simpler stand?

Edit: Realizing now that the PG32UQ is a different, slightly better panel, based on https://www.displayninja.com/new-monitors/

Got the Acer XV322QK in today. Pretty meh on it so far. Build quality is not great. A nitpick but the "chin" has a proximity sensor in it and the plastic is bowed out in front of it at least on mine. Also it doesn't use a joystick like every other modern display I've used. It has multiple buttons for the OSD and is super cumbersome to use. The buttons themselves have a lot of play and feel very cheap.

I was lured in by the reports of it having 65W charging over USB-C. Using the included USB-C cable Windows does show my laptop is charging but the screen continually loses signal and will only go up to 60hz. I don't have a rated thunderbolt cable so might try to pick one up and see if it makes any difference in that regard.

I can say the build quality of the FI32U is much better. It's unfortunate both of mine had white uniformity issues. The Acer is better in that regard at least.

I have it hooked up to my work laptop right now so no gaming. Should be able to provide some impressions there tonight.

Edit: Here's a bit of a WTF. It has a "low blue light" setting with varying levels. Standard, Level 1, Level 2, etc. If I set it to Level 1 display brightness gets locked at 80%. If you lower the brightness it kicks it back into "Standard" blue light mode. Why would it force a set brightness? Doesn't make sense.

Edit 2: Did a bit of gaming. It has 3 OD settings. Off, Normal, and Extreme. Extreme is obviously useless so it really has 2. Normal does show improvement over off in UFO test so that's what I went with. Playing BF4 was fine - input lag seems good and didn't notice any more ghosting than other displays I've used. It has two strobing modes - normal and extreme. Both lowered the brightness by quite a bit - it seemed more dim than I remembered the FI32U being.

I have the same monitor, considering returning it for the FI32U. FYI, I am able to get 4K/144hz on the XV322QK on my M1 Macbook with a rated Thunderbolt 40gbps USB C cable.

My biggest WTF with the XV322QK is the stupid “KVM” feature. It has downstream USB C and USB B, but you can’t pair them to inputs like the Aorus. You have to manually switch between USB inputs every time with 10 presses of those horrible OSD buttons.

Oh man I didn't know that - I didn't test the KVM feature on it. I already boxed it back up - it will be going to the store tomorrow. The OSD buttons are truly terrible - I have no idea why they would still go with that when pretty much every display now has a joystick implementation. Even if everything else was perfect I'd have to really think about sticking with it long term just because of that.

I did grab a rated thunderbolt cable but wasn't able to get 144hz - Windows and Nvidia Control Panel capped out at 100hz for some reason. I didn't spend too much time on it but thinking it's probably more a limitation of my laptop than the display itself. My laptop also has a dedicated GPU and it seems as though 65W isn't enough juice to power it anyway so the single cable solution seems like a moot point for me I guess. If I unplug the power cord from my PC the screen would continually turn off. Plugging the power back in fixed the issue.

Both of those listings have been removed. o_O
Definitely weird. I wonder if Gigabyte delayed the M32U.

I need three of these 32" 4K IPS panels, and M32U @ $799 was the sweet spot I thought the gods had blessed me with. Don't want to spring for 3 x FI32U and 'gaming features' and aesthetics I will never use.
