Netflix needs to step up their game...the quality of their original programming has been declining over the past 2 years or so...HBO Max, Disney+, Apple TV+ are on their heels and they haven't responded well...I do give them credit for launching a ton of international content but other then Stranger Things and a few others the USA originals are now mostly geared towards a young adult audience

Nothing Anime turned live action has ever gone well. The Draganball live action film nearly destroyed the franchise but thanks to Dragon Ball Super nobody remembers it. All they're doing is ruining a classic. Unless the creators of the original show are involved, I don't want to know this even exists.

Betcha they f-up Ed as a stunning and bold representation to get even more awards!?
I'll stick with the anime and it's stunning soundtrack I watch during my college days, thank you very much!
If a live action was ever going to be done, it should've been with younger Keanu Reeves and before all this easily offended insanity these past few years.

Soundtrack to the live action version is also gonna be done by Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts.

Ignoring the rest of your comments.

Does this frighten me, yeah, could this be a good thing, sure. Could it be the worst thing since the Avatar live-action movie, unlikely, but there's always a chance.

Will I watch it, yeah..... do I remember much of the original content... not at all that was how many decades ago? Will I go back and watch/read those beforehand, No. I am going to sit down and watch this and judge it as a stand-alone, separate from any previous content.

Anime is such a minefield to try to cast for live action. Spike's hair came out ok, let's see how long that lasts lol.

best bet and hope its not as woke as the interviews are suggesting...
I don't really care if it's "woke" its either good or bad, they could make half the universe a bunch of leather-clad gender-fluid furries with a Carebear fetish, but if they manage to make it work and it's overall a good story then at the end of the day it doesn't matter.

I think the biggest contribution to the perception of Netflix decline is that-----most of the other studios don't give them their new/good stuff, anymore. Because everyone are doing their own services now.

But....some of their big bets have not paid off in terms of viewers. One of the big ones was The Dark Crystal.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was a very large time and money investment for them. And apparently they didn't get enough views, because they canceled it----right after it received some awards and nominations. That could otherwise easily have supported two more seasons and some movies.

Green Frontier is a very solid thriller. But was probably not watched by many Americans or Europeans, due to not being in English. If you haven't seen it, give it a try. Season 2 is out now.

Hyperdrive is a fun show where they do a Ninja Warrior-like format----with cars. The first season certainly is rough around the edges. But is also really fun. Season 2 is on, now.

Atypical's first 3 seasons were really good. I started Season 4 recently and....it does seem to be phoned in a little bit. But hopefully it pans out. I have faith in the team.

Netflix seems to have TV shows pretty well figured. I feel like movies are the area where they struggle most (in terms of quality).

You completely missed the point. This already has a thread in entertainment media. That's where it belongs :p.

I hate this thread because every time I see cowboy bebop anything it reminds me that yo pumpkin head exists. Its like the song that never ends, you never ever forget it.
