Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Still playing on your own I hear.

Ed Is More broken then a broken glass lol.

Ed is finished.

Too bad u too blind to see the light that Is SC
When people resort to the broken mess you just posted, it means they have no actual proof.

You respond to an itemized list like a rapper responds to court charges. Guilty your honor.

Also acting like other people is a benefit to gameplay, LOL!

Here is the reality of playing with other people for any normal adult:
1. You have at most a couple hours a day to game.
2. There is a huge number of neckbeards and children that have all the time in the world to game.
3. Whales that have every P2W upgrade possible.

So you either play something simple and relatively balanced regardless of time input like CoD, or you play something that has a grind in which case you constently matched up against people with no life and all the high tier in game loot, or the occational whale that owns the best of everything. For a game like ED or SC its a better experience solo unless you have no life, however ED can be gamed to get the best gear relatively easily, I highly doubt that will be the case with SC after the real money people have sunk into gear and ships.

Players only matter when there is a community you belong to, and most communities require a minimum commitment of time, which pushes out the adult gamer who has a life. Most gaming communities at large are a dystopian cyberpunk like toxic wasteland (and the behaviour of SC supporters over the last decade have done nothing to change that opinion, this game will be as toxic as they come, filled with early backers and fanbois cussing out everyone else at every turn).

People acting like children are about to be banned. Take all the sniping and comments directed at each other somewhere else. Remember the rules. "Address the post, not the poster."

Please stop and think about what you are about to post. If this is you pictured below, go to another thread.

The game Is Great.

Lot's of players playing it.

Very popular for a reason because it's a great game with great content coming along the way.

You can Huff and puff but it won't change the fact that this game Is very good and making strides.

This game will be easy to play solo.

Grab a ship like a freelancer or cutty and you will be able to experience quite a variety of mission types.

The new reputation system makes it easy for a solo to experience and level up so to speak based on a organisation or a actual NPC.

Also, the intended goal Is to be able to hire NPC that have character and traits and be able to help you run your ship and help u in missions

Most released can be added to that list 🙂

Sounds like you're just passing the buck, since you cant be bothered to back-up your claims WITH ANYTHING SPECIFIC

Can you please stop spouting mistruths in this thread? The fact that you can't even list more than a half-dozen AAA released games as unstable as Star Citizen ells me exactly how much your mind values real research

(ohes noes, the bad man told the truth, but hey, look over here, while I make some haf-baked insinuation to keep this argument going!)

Did you specify how many I should list?

Lol 🤣

Anyways time to load up this game and play and have fun.

More fun than any other pc game I've played for the past year.

You can of course keep bashing this game here while I'm enjoying myself with this game.

The game Is Great.

Lot's of players playing it.
You mean under 100 players per-instance, right?

You could fit that many players on a STOCK Freelancer server from 2003 -- how embarrassing!

And just because you're into Self-torture doesn't mean the rest of us are looking for that kind of thing - I mean, there are people put there who into being Cucked (so I can imagine how much they might like to be tortured in-game)!

Who made freelancer?

And guess who's making SC?

He also made Wing Commander 1 through 4 and Prophecy (some of my all time favorite games), everyone here knows this. That being said, with every single one of those games the publisher had to bring in a project manager to babysit Roberts because he couldn't get his shit together and finish the game. That is the only reason those games were released.

Origin systems made wing commander, Which shut down years ago. Sure, Robert’s was the lead, but they made him finish the thing. Freelancer and starlancer were made by Digital Anvil, which was Microsoft. Same deal- they made him finish it as a project manager. I get he’s a good designer, but so was 3D Realms. Look where DNF ended up…

They actually fired him from the game because of the same stuff going on now.

After he had to be taken off the project he ran for three years, and it was still such a mess they took a THREE years to fix / cut it down.

There is no Microsoft Oversight on Star Citizen, so it will likely be another decade before he adds another star system!

Since Chris Roberts was just making an online version of Privateer 2, it really should have been as easy as his Wing Commander Expansion Pack (Star Lancer), when his brother already had experience! I guess Chris fucked with Erin's vision Once he was working under Digital Anvil?

TO QUOTE CHIS:

But what next for Chris Roberts, the man who brought us the groundbreaking Wing Commander series? "I just want to see Freelancer out the door, and then I want to take some time to reassess everything. Taking three and a half to four years to build a massive title just seems like a huge amount of effort. There needs to be a better way to do it."

He said this BS 20 years ago, and he still hasn't actually figured out what that thing is! The man is the king of making excuses, pointing the finger at someone else, and hyping-up the future, so now we have a never-ending money-suck that is Star Citizen Ship Sales.

Heh. I checked. Paid in $225 back in 2013 - still haven't even fired it up. Apparently the Andromeda takes multiple people to fly? And if I lose it, I have to ~buy it again with real money~? Still? And you want me to drop into a PVP game. At least in EVE, you can buy with cash OR build it up yourself, blueprints and all.

Looking forward to reading the tell-all book that gets written some 5-10 years from now after this "project" finally faceplants, that explains wtf happened here. This is probably the strangest most cult-like thing ever to happen in video games.

I don't believe that Chris Roberts set out to scam anyone - and hell, the project might get finished, eventually. I think he believes he'll even finish it. But he was never good at time lines, was never good at wrapping things up... and yet, he was also the best in creating worlds like this we wanted to play in. The idea of a multiplayer Privateer with everything truly open? Hell, it's what EVE wants to be! Only first person! Everyone wants to fly a spaceship, walk new worlds, buy/sell/shoot things... so he tapped into a dream we all had, financed it on our money, and ... maybe someday an actual game will come out. Maybe.

I agree with you here and it's why I paid in initially and never asked for a refund. The biggest problem with SC outside of Roberts himself is it's brainwashed, cult like following who are unwilling to hold Roberts accountable. It's just as much their fault the game is the shitty mess as it is Robert's. If 60% of it's current user base sued for refunds plus interest if the game doesn't reach a specific level of completion by a certain time I guaran-fucking-tee you we'd see a huge jump in quality as they cut away the bloat and feature creep.

The andromeda can be single person flown, but it'll work better with more (mostly gunners now). As more systems come online it will be harder to do everything from the captains' chair... And no real money to get your ship, or I'd be homeless from crashing into GimHex alone. LTI insurance = free respawn with almost no cooldown (might be longer for expensive ships, not sure).

Insurance is only good for 6 months? Or does that not kick in till the game is released?

LTI is permanent, If you bought that far back it's what you should have. Any other lesser amounts would kick in later (maybe release, maybe earlier), but insurance is supposed to be something that's easy to keep up, like car insurance. It's also been discussed that there will be add-on's such as covering all the customization of you ships' systems and weapons, not just a base ship. But that's not even on the roadmaps I've seen so far. The Noobifier Has really good and short breakdowns of the weekly shows that talk about development progress and goals.

6 months according to the hanger on mine. I think the permanent cost more back then, but hell if I remember. I'm installing it just to look around...

Ok. Fired it up. It feels like a neat tech demo. LOTS of bugs. Hell, took off and flew around Orison for a bit in an arrow - landed. Got my Andromeda out. Flew around - couldn't land - didn't give me a waypoint except one, and that one was perpetually flagged as "invalid, your ship will be impounded - active landing pad" no matter what I did (?!?). Flying now to some random asteroid base to try and land there and log out.

Did you request a new landing pad through the comms? I have not figured out how to do that smoothly but I teamed up with a veteran player last patch and he landed in one swoop, it looked amazing from the open loading bay (Caterpiller)... But my flying it rudimentary to say the least.

Couldn’t. Only option was to contact them, and they kept saying “request already processed”

Also looks like I’ve about 30 minutes of flying to get to this station thing even after quantum flying there; probably just logout and request a reset. Buggy.

edit: this was also at night. Orison is not well lit.

Promise. It’s not amazing yet. Promise though.

edit. And I mean a fuxk load of promise. Really. Just…. Squash bugs. Finish the damn thing. Add expansions like no mans sky.
No point squashing bugs when half the game is not done yet and also 3 major core tech pillars not in place yet.

Once it's done, then it's time to fix bugs properly.

It's basic software development 101

Hehehe na I think 4 years time

And this is why you keep falling for the same bs sales pitch: you're all just as in denial as Chris is

Considering that they still have not finished the Stanton System, you're asking a lot for a space exploration game to accomplish before 2040!
