[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

The tracker didn’t show Augusta, GA being too bad. 20 in line at like 2 am. I could have went in at 4 am but chose not to. I have a 2080 Ti in a living room PC.

I want a 3080 or higher specifically because of HDMI 2.1 but standing in line for 4 hours didn’t seem worth it to me. I’m almost 40, that’s a young mans game lol.

Actually, yeah, it is. You can super early to try if you feel your time is worth it, or you can try to throw a card in your cart check out within 3 seconds and not have the system think you're a bot because you clicked add to cart too many times. At least with something like thing if you live close, like I do, you can drive by an hour before store opening to see if it's futile for you to try and get one rather than thinking you have a fighting chance online against bots and companies who simply have shown no care nor desire to deal with bots buying goods. IMO Best Buy should have done this from day 1.

That said, there is one about 10 minutes away from me that is on the list, but it's Tuesday, and that is street sweeping day on one side of the street and I have a parking spot on the other side of the street and that's much more important to me right now :) The madness will eventually end and I can wait just fine.
Lucky you, the two closest to me were about 90 minutes out each. If I had gone overnight I might have had a chance, but the lines I see people I know who went were hundreds of people. Had to work, spend time with the gf. I'm sure 90% of what was sold today is up on ebay now.

Already seeing a few on facebook for double MSRP, guess I should have gotten up early given that BB is a mile from my house. The 2060 Super will just have to keep doing its duty for a while longer.

Snagged a 3090 FE at BB in Tulsa. Until I got there only the 3090 was left.
Sweet. I would love to have the 3090 fe but couldn’t justify driving 3 hours to the nearest bb on the list for a chance to get in line to get one.

I was surprised. BB started working the line b4 they opened at 10 am. I got there about 45 min b4 they opened and there was about 20 people in line, I almost left. I thought WTH I'll stick a bit more. Then an employee came out with a paper that said 3090 "anyone want a 3090?". I asked if that's all that was left and he said yes so I took it. I really wanted a 3080. The drive for me was only 20 min. It's installed as I type. I'm coming up from a 1080. Game on!

Salinas based friend went to San Fran and gave up when he got there at 10PM last night when there were already about 70 people in line. No idea what stock was like in the morning.
I am still surprise Best Buy didn't have a participating location in San Jose given the population size.

Yeah I didnt bother going. The only BB with the drop cards was an hour away and I saw there was already 200 people at it or something so... No point.

I just want a fricking RTX 3080......god damn...

He should have stuck it out as many BB's had over 200-300 cards available. Just fyi.

Any reports on how the Modesto store fared? Can't believe they chose that location of the many many better areas they could have chosen....

But there is only limited quantity of each cards, I mean if he wanted a 3080, there is a pretty good chance he won't get it if there are 70 people ahead of him.

Which leads to the question. If you're unemployed, where are you getting the money to buy expensive GPUs? Shouldn't your priority be something essential like saving every penny where you can. .

They have nothing better to do with their time, so if they have a spare $1400, and they can turn it into $3k, why wouldn't they try?

Some might even consider it to be their business. (off the books, without paying taxes, of course...)

Well I would stay at least 30 miles away from Chicago as well, just not a very safe city.
LOL in spots very very true, my neighborhood is one of, if not the safest, in the city. Its nickname is "Th Gold Coast", I live in a nice condo right on the lake.

MSRP, no bundle and check out when you're ready is the only way to go. My 2060S will last until then.

Entered the shuffle for an Xbox today, maybe I’ll get lucky. Anyone win the ability to buy stuff they wanted from it lately?

I won the ROG STRIX 3080 Ti and that Asus monitor last night but didn’t buy it. 2,500 dollars for both or 2,000 dollars for any 3080 Ti is insane.

It was my 3rd day of doing the shuffle.

Really I’d like to just get any 3080/3090 Eagle model combo or not since those are basically MSRP. I could sell whatever else comes with it.

Entered the shuffle the other day (never been selected for any 3080s or anything) and on a whim selected a couple of the PS5 bundles as well. Ended up "winning" one and said what the hell and got it, haven't had a new console since early in the PS3 days.

I know I overpaid for the bundled games & probably wouldn't have ever ordered the headset, but I figured I'd rather do that than stress about following twitter/discord drop info & hoping I can add to cart/submit in the first few minutes with the other bunch of people that also want them. And not knowing if it's going to be easier to get them anytime soon I said screw it.

Anyway, played some 4-player Sackboy with the fam last night and we had a blast, no regrets. :D Also fired up Ratchet & Clank, so far a lot of fun and the graphics are pretty sweet.

I lucked out with the EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 and EVGA 850 Watt PSU combo. A co-worker gave me $150 for the PSU, so it only cost me $30 out of pocket by getting the bundle.
GPU + PSU combo is the only way to go for the shuffle. Anything else we're losing money.
Newegg knows this and keep pushing low demand Intel motherboard combos.

There was a "shell shocker" yesterday for a 1660 at $500.

Can we start calling them shell blockers or something?
