Ghost of Tsushima

Game is good so far, not sure how far into it I am. Seems like a collect-a-thon, though.
It very much is a direct ripoff of recent Ubisoft-style open world games... which I find amusing because people around here shit on Ubisoft games endlessly. I think it's an enjoyable style, you just have to pace yourself to focus on story missions as much as the side activities or you'll get bored.

I think I'm like 15-ish hours in and the collecting is already getting a bit old. I was having fun with the fox shrines, then I looked in the collectibles section and realized there are almost fucking FIFTY of them.

Awesome news. Director's Cut with what's essentially an expansion pack.

I still think this game is a classic in this day and age or as close as we get to one. That doesn't mean it's perfect.

You will just get them as you go along. Play, explore... you will just things done. You don't have to get real OCD about any of it.

I beef and max out the traveler's attire as fast as I can because that helps finds things easily and uncovers the map more efficiently. The game lets you swap in and out pretty generously when you pause it. Even during cutscenes. I constantly do this, back and forth.

Story, characters, gameplay, and production values all just come together well for me.

People can get what they want out of this by being able to dial the difficulty up to Sekiro/almost Dark Souls or down to cakewalk and everywhere in between. It's just a tight, polished package. Obviously YMMV.

I think I am about 30 hours in, still enjoying it enough although it does start to get repetitive. Most of the encounters go the same way, and the Ubisoft-style camp clearing gets a little old. I still want to see where the stories go, though.

one of my biggest beefs with the game (minor though it is) is the animations for starting a duel or challenge or whatever they call them.. it's always the shot of flicking the sword out an inch from the scabbard... like damn, they couldn't have come up with 2 or 3 additional animations to randomly cycle through? really adds to the feeling of repetition and doing the exact same thing over and over.

Yeah I REALLY wish you could skip some of the cutscenes. You end up seeing basically the same ones over and over again.

Just finished up the game. Did all of the "main" collectibles like shrines and hot springs, not going to bother with all of the records and artifacts. I think I came in around 60 hours or so. Overall good game, though I am not sure I can honestly say I enjoyed cleaning up the last few collectibles, it started to get pretty tedious. Really liked the main quests though, good story and atmosphere. The island is beautiful.

I have been slowly chipping away at this. I am deep into act 2 and the repetition of it is getting to me. My problem is that my OCC really kicks in these kinds of games. I have to get everything on the map. I am so over powered at this point combat is becoming a chore.

I never felt too OP as far as actual combat strength, but using maxed-out Ghost armor, or the one that lets you kill up to 5 enemies in standoffs, are pretty OP. You can just annihilate an entire camp with very little risk. I didn't even go into bow stuff much, but I assume that can get pretty OP as well.

Same here, I’m getting fatigued and not sure I’ll finish the game. It’s a fun game, just a lot of the same.

The same happened with me honestly.. I stopped around 15 hours played, veeeeery repetitive game. I still think it's a great game overall but that is a big flaw.

That looks pretty great at 60fps. I didn't know it got upgraded. I've put enough distance between me and similar games that I'm ready to give this a go soon.

I got it, been playing it the last couple weeks. Really is a fun change of pace. Just got into ACT II maybe a few hours in, definitely ramped up the enemies, I like it. I am trying to go completionist as I go, so I have maybe 20 hours in it. You definitely need to do the side quests for the unlocks....lots of goodies. haven't traveled to IKI island yet. Pretty cool to see the map and travel compared to the real Tsushima/Iki islands.

With this supposedly coming to PC, I've held off on buying it. If they don't spill the beans in the next 2 months I'll probably just buy the PS5 edition during the Holidays.

Platinum'd the game, had over 50 hours in it. Finished the Iki Expansion. I thought the expansion was a great change of pace to the main, and you got some cool abilities, would make some individuals want to NG+ the game, the scenery was beautiful. I 100% the iki trophies as well.

Been playing directors cut on PS5 and very much enjoying it. Sort of like Sekiro meets horizon. Sort of... Anyway great game was on the fence at first but took the plunge and love it. Started act 3 tons of hours in (not sure how to check hours).

Awesome game. So beautiful even on a base PS4 which is how I did it. I don't usually like open world stuff, but this one grabbed me.

Yeah, combat can get repetitive. Yeah, sometimes the map is funky and shows you things you can't ever find when you get there. Minor nitpicks.

Is the directors cut on ps+, would like to pick up the game again and play the new map, but damn if it's not very confusing in the playstation store.

If they don't hurry up an announce a PC port I'm just going to end up biting on the PS version. There were a pile of rumors about it like 9 months ago, but I'm not going to wait around forever.

if you have a PS5 i don't know why you would even bother waiting for the PC version. it's technically flawless, you aren't "sacrificing" anything playing it. unless you wanna be pedantic and say something like "it's not gaming if it's not 240fps" or whatever

Or maybe he has a ps4?

Playing it now and I am loving it. I'll buy this on PC when it gets released since I am on PS+ Premium so it's basically a rental.

I have a PS5, I just prefer to play stuff on the PC when possible. It wasn't that long ago that people were talking like a PC port would be inbound this year.

Might as well sell the PS5 if you're going to wait for all its exclusives to be ported to PC.

At least I got a PlayStation just for its exclusives. Then if I like them enough I'll buy them again for PC just for an excuse to play it again with a mostly negligible graphics and performance gain.
