Is there anyone who still owns a Logitech G7?

I try to mod my G603 for the same shape as the G7 had. I just talked about this project with one of my friends who is expert in computer vision and he told me it is not possible to properly restore the shape based on the 2d photos available. I need a sample shell to scan or somebody who can scan it for me.

Another thing, that I argued with a guy on a different forum and he claimed that the G7 had massive input lag. I know it didn't, because I used it for years for competitive gaming and it performed better than my MX510. I need a measurement for input lag if possible.

Can anyone help me in these?

I used to have that mouse as well, even had a friend that stopped using his so I grabbed his batteries for more power, then a couple oif the batteries started to swell, so I got rid of them. Eventually, they all stopped charging, so had to move on. If I still had it, I'd gladly send it your way. Quick search found a couple on eBay, but I'm not sure if you want to buy one just for the scan. Of course, if it works, then you have a working one to play with and then can have it scanned later to have the 3D print what you need to mod your mouse.

I have a better mouse now which requires monthly battery replacement and has a lot better DPI than the G7. I would not go back to replacing the battery twice a day, so buying it isn't really worth it, especially with delivery to Europe, but I'll check, maybe I can find a cheap one second hand from Germany or another relative big nearby country. Maybe somebody still has it.

It didn't have any more input lag than a wired mouse at the time unless you were getting interference. Logitech's wireless tech was way more vulnerable to interference back then, but their gaming wireless mice basically had no lag when you had a clean signal.
I remember utterly destroying in UT instagib at a LAN and people coming over to watch me behind my back because they thought I was cheating. Then trying out my mouse because they couldn't believe it. They were astonished it didn't lag.

People didn't really have a way to measure input lag back then so I doubt you'll find numbers unless someone has a working one now.

Thanks, I have the same experience. I was in our clanbase nations cup team in Enemy Territory back then with this mouse. I did not feel any input lag and I think only people say that it lags who never really tried it.

It still is. I can't use a wireless mouse with my system to this day. The only way I can is to use a USB extension cable and place the receiver far away from my PC.

Microwave travel at light speed, so 1 meter or 2 does not matter, both are practically 0ms extra input lag. Converting the electric signal to microwave and back what can add extra input lag. Another reason can be when the signal is not clear and it is repeated, but I don't think these mice repeat it.
I guess there is some sort of interference between your PC and your receiver, that's why it matters for you.

Well that's what I'm saying is the case where my specific setup is concerned.

I can do wireless components all day long for work, laptop stuff, etc. But my gaming setup, I'm old school. I have a PS/2 n-key rollover mechanical keyboard and a wired laser mouse.

I managed to get a G5 shell, so I can scan it and print something similar. As of the G7 somebody bought it from our IT community just to test and measure it. Looks like they were right and it had severe and inconsistent input lag compared to current wireless gaming mice. I am not sure how I was able to shoot with it in esport, but I did not have any issue with accuracy with my G7s. I am working on a relative expensive networking hobby project now, but this custom mouse with G7 shape and recent electronics is on my list too.
