NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti Officially Announced

$1199...

They can stuff it. Nearly 75% more money than the 3080 for around 10% more performance even at 4k. FFS might as well get the full blown 3090 for 300 bucks more.

I was spoiled with my old 1080 TI cranking away in the secondary PC, that 30% performance jump from 1080 to 1080 TI was amazing. Now, the 2080 TI XC I have (grabbed it for $400 when people were dropping their cards for the 3XXX), will most likely be the card I hold onto till the next generation. I base this on the one 3090 FTW Ultra, which reports 1-2 drops per month (recorded on the EVGA queue), and I am only (possibly) 25 cards out.... Which at this rate will be July 2023.

It would be nice to have another card to drive this 38" Alienware with a better card... But I cannot look forward to buying a 3080 TI FTW Ultra (I assume it will be around $1300-1400) when I could just spend some more on the 3090. Blah.

GL to all of you though that want a new card.

Wow, Steve has strong words for Nividia here. "Don't buy it".

Nividia shit the bed...again.

I agree, $500 dollars is not worth 2-8% performance in 4k.

What an odd statement. That thought shouldn't even have crossed your mind.

I mean I likely do not use the 3090 to its full potential and it still has a very high resale value. The 3080 is probably the sweet spot for me, but they are hard to come by.

Shit man, you could use it to play minesweeper, hold on to it! Don't think anyone would fault you for not being able to max out the VRAM when these things are so hard to come by.

I am glad that LTT told everyone how the 3080 Ti is a great deal and to buy it now. I like my 5-10% improvement for $700, oh wait never mind its a way cheaper 3090....damn where is my wallet......

Yeah, I watched the LTT review as well and I couldn't bear the shilling going on. It was too much. I guess LTT wanted to go against the grain with a favorable review instead. It's not like Linus needs the money...

No matter how any credible reviewer presents the numbers (fyi, I like LTT's entertainment factor, cringe and all), the 3080 Ti simply looks like it shouldn't exist. There's almost no gap for it to fill and in a sane market it is without question a terrible value. There's a very small argument that a 3080 Ti is easier to manufacture than a 3090, but I guess we have to take Nvidia's word that that's still the case today and/or immediate future? It seems obvious to me the 3080 Ti is pretty much an unlocked 3080. I wouldn't be surprised if teardowns demonstrate it's using nearly the exact same PCB, design, etc. It is clearly using the same cooler.

I wholeheartedly agree with any statement that the 3080 Ti only exists due to current market insanity. Strange times we live in...

It really just seems a way for NV to make more money. Instead of turning failed 3090s into 3080s, now they turn them into 3080 Ti cards and make a lot more per card. Plus with using half the GDDR6X memory on a 3090 they can make 2 cards with the memory, and make more with 2 3080 Tis over one 3090. It seems just a way for NV to make more profit off failed dies, while bending over the customer...

That review was a never-coming-back-from jump the shark moment for LTT for me. Mr. Money Bags is completely out of touch.

anyone have a direct link to the product yet? Going through the navigation on site never works for me.

My microcenter show 3 models of 3080ti this morning. Asus for $2k, MSI for $1770 and EVGA for $1400. The EVGA 3090 ftw 3 goes for around $1800.

I got the HC product page up once with no notify button yet. Totally unresponsive for the last 7-8 minutes. Wake me up in 2022, so sick of this garbage.

Though, the LTT review was made before the prices were announced. Still, I think they should have prepared a segment to go in case the price turned-out to be unreasonable. And I won't be surprised if LTT make another video to address the price-value discrepancy of the 3080 Ti.

Today I learned the Nvidia calls it Tie. Ugh.

Blasphemy! I refuse to conform to such nonsense.

What if they introduced a "Gold" edition? Would it be an Nvidia xxxx "Au" or "Go"? Or how about Platinum? "Pt"? Their pronunciation scheme doesn't work so well with a pair of consonants, so they'd probably just resort to calling it a "Platinum" edition or whatever, which would be terribly inconsistent. It's obvious that their marketing department never thought this through.

Beware of the Knights Who Say "Ti"!

Well the fact they made this paid advert early and said buy it as its a great card without even knowing the price is pretty suspect. Plus then releasing this as is and saying this is fine....with no updates beyond a frowny face for 2 seconds. No thing in the beginning hey we thought it would be cheaper this love letter to the card is invalid, dont buy it like everyone else said. Seems very tone deaf and out of touch, esp when they have a huge editing group that cant be bothered to fix this mess before it is released to the world. Got to get those first clicks I guess, and keep the money rolling in.....

Got a page with the button but it doesn’t work. Reloaded and and no button shown.

Fuck it. The FTW is 1400 and the CCR doesn’t even have a notify button anymore. At 1400 you’re better off waiting to get a 3090. Here’s hoping for a shuffle. On the good side I’ll be done with work super early today.
