How to shutdown instead after a Windows Update ?

I doubt it is even possible but wanted to make sure. Could not find anything.
 
I know that. Sorry I mean automatically shutdown instead of where it restarts automatically.

Is that possible?
i just told you how to do it. the other option is update and restart. you cant do it from within windows update in settings IF that is what you are really asking.
 
The PC has to be off when windows updates for it to shut off afterwards. It resumes the previous state, so if it was on when it updated, it will restart, and if it is off when it updates, it will shut down afterwards.
 
You can do so by launching shutdown.exe -s -t 0 using a scheduled task, but it's always advisable to verify if no users are logged on before shutting down the computer. The task should shut down the system automatically only if no users are logged on.
