I think FEDEX was tossing it around based on the outer box being dented and tape torn off.
Half expected missing parts thinking someone opened it.

If only people knew what their boxes could go through.

Back when I first started at ups one day they put me loading trailers. So I stood under a conveyer belt that was about fifteen feet in the air and ended at a metal chute. The boxes fell from this metal chute into a big pile. I was told to stand back and wait until the boxes made a pile and started to get to the edge before I started picking them up. So nothing would fall on me and hurt me. Safety first!

Every now and then a small but heavy box would fall and just crunch everything.

That was a long time ago and they've improved a lot. But still, if your box goes through an old center? I just tell people if your box can't survive being dropped from waist height several times, then repack it.

The Asus 3080 is waayy better than the Gigabyte in thermals in the memory.
It runs 20+c cooler

Its the top one.
gigabyte was running at 106c-110c at the same settings
Mine sucks apparently. Opening up my case helped a bit, but it was running 100+C on the memory and only 85 MH. Says its at 200w. I've done zero tweaking - had AMD cards since the 8800GT basically.

At default, that sounds about right. I think you need to tweak a bit. May be -150 to -200 on core clock, and +900 to 1350 on memory with about 70% power. My EVGA xc3 is running 70% power, -150 clock, and +1350 on memory for around 101 MH at 92-96° on the memory junction, and 85% fan.

What model do you have?
Those temps suck yeah!
My G-Byte hits 100c at 185+ watts unless I have a/c blowing into it
What are your settings to only get to 85MH/s and 200watt draw?

I used to work for RPS as a loader.
Do you remember RPS?
Roadway Package Service, now owned by FedEx
I saw some stuff working thee as well.
I worked there while I was in college probably 1992

So when you put the "-" (minus) sign in front, you're saying to reduce the core clock? I assume we're doing this in MSI Afterburner? Or is there a better app? (is there no where to do this in the nVidia settings/control panel?)

Asus TUF Gaming. It's the card that comes out of the $1999 Best Buy rig.

All default settings. In my Strix B450-F Gaming, 5800X system, which is memory overclocked a bit. I'm going to change the interior of my Fractal R6 case when I get some time...just opening the door dropped the memory temp 4-6 deg C. Looks like I could use a couple more fans for this mining business.

I can remove all the 3.5" bays, put my 2 storage drives on the backside (like behind the mb tray) of the case, and open that WHOLE front end up to suck air directly into the back of the GPU/CPU. May not help much without adding another couple fans, but better than it is now.

---------------------
Yes, I use MSI Afterburner to set these setting. Reduce core clock. Most of the mining is done via the memory. Some ppl reduce core clock all the way down. I find -150 to -200 is the sweet spot, and further reduction sometimes hinders the hash rate.

Nicehash even has an article on good starting point to tweak the cards>

System reviews, mining advice, shipping woes...

I tried in September to report any post that had nothing to do with "in stock" and was shot down by the mods. Now it's just a free-for-all thread.

It was never about what customers like, it was done to move garbage that otherwise won't sell that newegg was forced to accept to get gpu shipments.

Like those $700 waterforce motherboards from a last gen chipset? Good luck moving those without a combo. The downside for NE is now all that shit they force you to take is on Ebay so they won't sell any of it outright.

These resellers and distributers are just rollin' in the e-waste right now. I seriously hope that whoever projected GPU and CPU sales in order to manufacture the proportional amount of motherboards (and 650w PSUs that either start on fire or won't run high end GPUs properly) has been dishonorably discharged from their station for their utter failure.

I at least parted out my Alienware and used my b550 motherboard newegg bundle to make a sweet 5600x system in an nzxt h510 case. It’s so much cooler and quieter now. I am left with that ewaste crap case though and their mobo. But maybe someone out of warranty needs a replacement dell mobo.

Perhaps it is higher in demand? Seems pretty cheap and the matx may be desirable to many. Note that the motherboard is the primary item, and the 6700 xts are the junk bundled with it lol.

Otherwise a couple things I will enter for today.
Yea that it is a primary item id what confuses me.

Seems like the shuffle is shifting to AMD more than nvidia lately. Of course we don't know actual quanitities, just how many options. Could be 500 3070 bundles and only 2 each of the 6700 bundles. Who knows??

I'm confident it's exactly as many cards as you see. When they get multiple gpus, each one gets a combo with some mobo, psu, etc. Today newegg has exactly 2 3070s for sale.

No idea, it was odd to see that there. I just tried for the 3070 combos this time, nothing else interested me.
I did the same.
Actually thought about entering for he MB just to see if it was an instant winner.
Looking at NE it actualy is OOS. Maybe it is in high demand. As far as B50 MBs I havent heard great things except that they are a make budget boards. I also heard they now make the NZXT MBs

I bought a R11 from the Dell outlet, it was listed as a "scratch and dent". When it came, I did not see a single scratch. I9 10600f, 32gb memory, 1gb SSD, 2 gp hard drive,
RTX 3080, water cooled CPU/GPU, 1000 watt power supply, 2 year warr. $2400.00 . I refused to pay a scalper got no where with retail stores

System reviews, mining advice, shipping woes...

This has turned into a discussion thread since DAY 1..... No HOT deals here....

Newegg shuffle was weird today. I've been periodically checking it all day, including the time it was supposedly running this morning. I am signed up for notifications (text and email) for shuffle events. I was never able to pick any items (tried on laptop and smartphone) any of times I checked. Every page refresh said this shuffle has ended. (checked before, after and during the supposed time it was live).

Earlier this afternoon, I checked again, and it said the shuffle ended this morning, and it had a bunch of items on it I'd never seen. Too bad, as it had several nvidia cards this time. Oh well. Would've likely been just another rejection anyways. Anyone else not even see it today?
