Found this 1TB Samsung 980 on ebay for $99.99 Buy-It-Now. Only 4 left at the moment.

The seller's feedback isn't exactly spotless, but nothing serious enough there to be a red flag. One red flag is that these retail at $129.99 MSRP and there's little reason to discount these an entire $30 already. I'm 50/50 on whether these are fake, but my credit card company will go to bat for me so I'm willing to take that chance.

Assuming this is legit, these are DRAM-less w/ HMB but still really friggen fast.

Waste of time, I can't believe people still fall for these listings. The account is hacked/stolen, nothing is going to be shipped.

This is not even that great of a deal. This is the none pro drive which is meh.
Well, it is considered entry level. Who would cross-shop this with drives that are double its price?

The 980 competes on price with the Crucial P1 and P2, WD SN550, SK Hynix P31 Gold, and probably a sea of other QLC-based drives or DRAM-less TLC drives. In this climate, I wouldn't dismiss a 20% discount on a great entry level drive.

It has feedback as recent as this month and consistent history well beyond that. What makes you think it's a hacked account?

Without going into it, I'm wiling to bet a tenner you don't get a samsung drive from this seller.

I'm willing to bet I'll get something that resembles a M.2 SSD, at least. :ROFLMAO: Not confident that it will be a legitimate Samsung drive. Literally only takes a few clicks on my bank's website to open a fraud claim if that's the case.

Just saying someone doesn't mistake this for a Pro.

Seller "shipped" something today. (Edit) technically only created a label thus far.

Jacksonville, FL. Home of the confirmed addresses for scammers overseas that uses a third-party shipper. Been there done that haha, at least eBay makes it super easy to get my money back the last time this happened so worth the gamble.

You know it's a scam usually when it says "last one" but if you keep buying it'll still say last one; that and the Florida address. Surprised eBay hasn't caught on to this yet.

The plot thickens. Noticed that the tracking info says it's shipping out of Tulsa, OK. Also it's OOS, so this "deal" is dead. xD

(Edit) Buddy's order was cancelled by the seller today (5/11). Mine is supposed to be delivered by 5/12

(Edit) Delivered today, but nada. Got a couple deliveries today from Amazon and another store, but nothing here from ebay. Security cameras didn't record a UPS driver ever arriving to my neighborhood. Probably shipped it to some random address in my zip code (aka "same zip code scam") so that it would appear that it shipped/delivered.

Closing this because ~CS~ was ultimately right. ;)
