Recover data from a single disk from a Synology SHR?

Is there any possibility of recovering data from a single disk that was part of a 6-disk Synology SHR (2-disk redundancy) array?
I had a drive fail and I've replaced it without issue, but is it worth trying to securely erase the failed disk or can I just toss it in the trash?

good your using SHR2 (RAID6) over SHR1 (RAID5)

maybe odd 64-128KB chunks of files but not likely anything of use that a normal person could recover (plug the HDD into a PC use diskpart to clean it and make a MBR partition style and make 1 full partition use full format option (windows 10 Writes zeros to all sectors)

you can also use HDD sentinel to do a Write test or Reinitialize disk surface that will wipe all data and force the disk to remap the bad sectors (Reinitialize disk surface one is good at doing that)

i usually use this as it gives you a nice report at the end,, as i usually buy 4TB used HDDs so use the Reinitialize disk surface on them before i put them in my raid array, but if i was buying new i likey would do the same to verify they haven't been damaged in transit

if the disk isn't working correctly for the above not to work use a pointed object and a hammer
