Connecting USB Device Causes (A)RGB Lights to Quickly Blink - SOLVED!

Recently, when I plug or unplug a USB receiver (mouse/keyboard) wireless dongle into my rig, the RGB lights will sometimes change color but more often than not, will quickly blink off and on (about a 250ms blink). It doesn't happen when plugging in or unplugging USB hubs, my monitor, or my external M2 drive enclosure. Any ideas? Kinda scaring me.

SOLUTION
Foxit installed a USB driver called "Genesis Logic Generic USB Class Filter Driver." After uninstalling it, I haven't noticed any blinking problems. Judging by the date it was installed, that was about the time started seeing the blinking.

use a different usb port and see what happens, might just be on the same usb controller.

I already did that. It does it on several differnt ports, incding front and back. I didn't try all of the ports, but I tried several USB 3.0 and 3.1 ports. Both the ports on the front do it as do several on back. I don't lose the lights, but they change color, blink of and on quickly, and then go back to their original state. Or, they just blink off then on once, quickly.

I have the same issue, except my video card logo goes off, then I restart the system and it shows again. Except it's an ASUS card and I'm not using AURA but ICUE, and the rest of the Corsair RGB works fine regardless of what I plug.
.
It probably disconnects, but just right now, the video card RGB logo was off, I started ICUE and no card was found, closed ICUE and now the card lit again 2 seconds after closing ICUE. Must be an evil PC ghost. Gonna have to do an exorcism on this thing here soon.
Good to know t is doing it when using ICU also. Most likely isn't an RGB software specific to RGB software problem or the RGB hardware (I have a 12V RGB hub powered by SATA). Somehow, an electrical signal is allowing the color to be changed or the RGBs to be flicked off and on. I'm going to shut my system off then unplug the PSU and bleed it off. We'll se if that fixes it. It's not just the 12BV or 5V sides either, but both.

It does it even with other USB devices that are non-wifi. As long as teh USB device is active (headset, etc) it will do it. If it is just a cale, it won't. It happens when Windows 10 initialize

Did you ever figure it out? I've since tested and it does it when any USB device is plugged in or unplugged. If I plug in a cable it won't do it. I've also figured out that there is a delay, which coincides with Windows loading and unloading the device when plugged in or unplugged. It doesn't matter if it is WiFi or not. It's driving me nuts. I'll load a device tongiht and then unload it in device manger--then unplug it and see if I get the blink or not.

Nah......I don't know what causes it, but I know if it goes off and turn off the PC and the next time the light will come on, so I'm not too concern about it. USB 2.0 is just so weak, maybe the signal or speed or both can cause the lights to cut off. It's been working fine so far but have not changed anything or plugged anything to the PC.
And the only light in the RGB thing is R=0 G=255 B=0, so, it's only green and set to 3% in the ICUE software, so if it goes off I wouldn't notice right away but when I do plug a USB 3 or 3.1Gen2 flash drive, or the phone, no issues as of today. It just happens randomly.
That's right. You're using USB 2.0 internal for the ICUE. I'm using the USB 3+ ports on the back and front panel. I think this may be software oriented. I uninstalled the USB controller and let it reinstall, but it still did it. So then I opened device manger and un-plugged a USB dongle, device manger refreshed, then about 3 seconds later, the blink. And, then, right now no blink at all.

About the time I noticed this, i think I reloaded Logitech's crappy GHUB application, so if it does it again, I'll uninstall it and see if that was the problem. I also unchecked in device manger all of the device shut off 'to save power" options.

Do you have Foxit PDF installed? Foxit installed a USB driver called "Genesis logic generic USB class filter driver." After uninstalling it, I haven't noticed any blinking problems. Judging by the date it was installed, that was about the time started seeing the blinking. So far, no blinking at all. Even if you don't have Foxit installed, check to see if you have that Genesis USB filter installed in device manager. Or, maybe I actually found it in "remove" programs. Either way, check it out. (I think it was in the remove program section.)
