Destiny 2

Frraksurred , Q-BZ and myself just completed what might be the longest GM nightfall ever lol. 52 minutes I think. It didnt help that I forgot to change to arc before we started and was stasis and didnt realize it until we got to the tank room. We ended up doing the nade strategy and for the record, Duskfield grenade to freeze brachus in bubble then warlock super secondary shatter shockwave when he is frozen hits for about 22k each time he is frozen. It only hits for about 500 when not frozen, but it does hit through the bubble.

I smell 3 new Conqueror's this season!

To add to this, the Solar grenade is another AOE that can be used for the nade glitch. By itself I was getting 6 ticks of 1015 points of damage, but with Duskfield and Focusing Lense, it jumped up to 1260 (iirc). Then, if I popped my Well and we all combined (Duskfield + Warlock Stasis Super + Well + Solar grenade) it would get over 1500 per tick, and my nade would recharge twice as fast inside the Well and I could get a second nade off right before the Well ended.

Honestly, I had a lot of fun. There were frustrating moments, but these are always less when you're playing with friends instead of randoms. There were a couple times we'd be down to one person and they would clutch it up and get everyone revived. In the end, managed to get 2 Exotics, an Adept Shadow Price with decent perks, Adept mod and various upgrade materials.

Absolutely, I cant stand to do harder content with randoms. Cant tell you how many times Q-BZ and I have had a random from LFG bail on us after a few minutes if one of us dies. It wouldn't have mattered to me if it took us 2 hours (if I wasnt using my lunch break from work to do it)

Double Ordeal. The new Proving Grounds strike is the Nightfall. Get ready.
Been watching some teams in the GM. That's our mission tonight. Joy...

Adept Palindrome though so this week is actually worth it!

Oh yeah I'm all in. Any time you guys are ready I am. Come get me.

Wow 90 minutes even for him? I've gone in three different times with good players and it's just brutal. Even with the load out from last week (which still helps) it's unreal. I want that Adapt Pali in a bad way but I need all the help and tips I can get.

EDIT ADD: I'm going to mark this on the calendar. Coup De Grace: I got...the...freakin'...ship. At last.

Congrats, guys!

I’m not even high enough light level yet to jump in the GM’s and have no desire to get there. I think I’m like 5 away or so.

I did some Legend runs and a Master run and ya, this one is fun.

It's truly a nightmare. I don't think I can get a Titan up fast enough for this so I'm sticking with my Hunter. Honestly, it's going to come down to team synergy and the right loadouts. Both times I went with different randoms the room with the two tanks was as far as we got.

We did two Ursa/Banner Shield Titans and a fully kitted out bottom tree void hunter with the new chest piece for near infinite invis which proved indispensable. We all had anti-barrier sniper and void pulses or hand cannons and 3x Anarchy. Not really sure how you're supposed to stay alive AND keep damage on that boss without Anarchy, its really an uncontested weapon.

I say in order to get that, start getting in raid groups doing DSC and save up those raid tokens to buy one from the kiosk, its absolutely incredible.

I'll do my best. Everyone knows I want to Raid. ;)

I can do the void bottom tree part and juice that up a little bit. I don't have Anarchy either so Code Duello it will have to be (or maybe Xeno.)

See how valid you all think this is:

Its a thing.. we didn't want to risk someone dying trying to get to that spot so just did it legit. But yeah the hunter fully spec'ed into bottom tree tether and getting their smoke bomb consistently was key. We actually failed the first run at the boss room.. just weren't ready for the champion's to push in duo's and our banner shield's were out of sync (having two means if you take enough damage on one, the insane orb generation means the second one has a full super even before the first one is done so you can chain them) We were left with no banner shield, the boss shooting us and two unstoppable champs charging us.

I haven't been able to watch it yet, because Work is actually expecting me to WORK... but hopefully there is some useful info in here:

Based on the thumbnail, Fallout Plays had similar strats in his guide

Bwahaha insane.

Dumb question for the solo chests raid trick: How many times per week per character? Once?

Skyburner... I could see bringing that in. That always was strong against Cabal. Fallout Plays really helped me on that last GM. I do have a Titan but it would take forever to build him up in time to get this one. There is no such thing as "overkill" for this nightmare.

(EDIT: Skyburner just became essential based on what he and some others are saying and showing.)

It's essential if you plan to cheese the boss room (see his full run with Frostbolt) but not needed if you do it legit. Legit isn't terrible if you are coordinated if you know the fight goes and can melt the two sets of champions instantly.

What's the best way to get catalysts up quickly for weapons now? Altars of sorrow? I saw some video about some area in Shattered Throne, too. Lost sectors on the moon... lol, I see different ideas. Shuro Chi teleport. I'll have to see if that puts me in position for one of those chests, too.

The way I see it is I'm definitely sticking with Hunter for the sake of time. I have a void bottom tree (moebius) ready to go with Orpheus Rig. For Stasis I can stick with that Aeon Swift setup. Easy to switch back and forth.

Weapons: The only kinetic sniper I have worth a hoot is Izanagi. I need to finish its Cat. I can run that with my god roll Pali like I have been otherwise I had fooled with the idea of bringing in Graviton Pulse and putting my other kinetic sniper which is...ok or Nightwatch Scout. Otherwise Skyburner and I have a masterworked Steady Hand HC with Outlaw on kinetic. Heavy: Probably Code Duello.

Just running a heavily populated Lost Sector over and over or getting to the classic thrall hallway in Shattered Throne will let you get catalysts up fast. I think i finished off Ticcus, hawkmoon, and dead mans using the Terminus East lost sector in Trostland.

I highly suggest looking at an alternate exotic to rigs, only occasionally do you need to use your super offensively and there are so many orbs from the banner shield titans that getting it back when you do use it is never a problem. In the end, its almost a wasted exotic to run. In our runs, our hunter used his super energy for Special Ammo Finisher pretty heavily as well as an invis hunter was perfect for getting up on top of enemies to get in finisher range. He stuck with the new hunter exotic for double smoke bombs + damage reduction when invis so he could smoke us when things got heated. If you don't have that, something like Sixth Coyote for double dodges would work but with either, you gotta be real sneaky and efficient with dodging near enemies to get your smoke back.

He was saying the new exotic, Omnioculus, was real good since smoking all three of us gave bonus melee (smoke) energy back.

As for kinetic snipers.. yeah a good PvE roll is great. Something with Vorpal is even better. I use one from this past raid with Reconstruction and Vorpal or a Trials sniper with Vorpal.

The more common PvE king is Long Shadow with the absolute god roll being Rapid Hit/Triple Tap.

On the other hand, Izanagi is great against champions but just make sure you're specced out into Sniper ammo finders and Scavengers.

As for Charged with Light, we were all running Radiant Light, Stacks on Stacks and Taking Charge all to feed protective Light. With so many banner shields popping plus all the orbs on the ground, we were always charged with light and its hard to describe just how incredible Protective Light is.

I'd love to get Omni and will make it a priority. I'm reading up on how and where to do it. It's mandatory to do it solo to get it or can I get help for the appropriate lost sectors?

I'm reading this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/esports/how-to-get-the-omnioculus-exotic-in-destiny-2/ar-BB1dFUUA

I won't bother with Orpheus and look into these other tips. (Invis Hunter... Invisible... looking into those builds. I have Coyote, Dragon's Shadow... I'm in pretty good shape when it comes to a lot of these exotic armor so I will fool around with this.)

Starting last season, the the new class exotics come from Legend or Master Lost Sectors so you'll want to wait until Legend or Master version on the map is dropping chest pieces as which lost sector are either Legendary or Master rotate every day, as does which armor slot exotics they're dropping.

For the easiest shot, you'll want the Legend Lost Sector to be dropping chest pieces then just farm it solo until you get a drop. Last seasons Hunter exotic was Mask of Bakris and it took me maybe 4 runs of the Legend lost sector to get it? A buddy though had to do it 20 times for a single drop.. Bungie RNG.

But either way, yeah Legend and Master lost sectors are how we're going to acquire the new seasonal exotics moving forward.

Doing K1 Communion Legend for it... I beat the boss... clock ran out so I had no revives. Got screwed after that by a stray shot from the Barrier champ. @$#%ing frustrating. I'll give it a few more shots before the reset but life's too short after a point.

EDIT: Omni secured. I went in with anger haha. Izanagi, imperial needle, code duello, stasis... won with three minutes on the clock and almost all my revives. I guess I had a warm up.

I suspect the answer to this is "no" but I'm guessing there is no way to access or buy previous "annual pass" content like Black Armory, etc. for a number of reasons including vaulting? I wanted to get that ship you win for Master Smith Triumph. I had it on my previous account. Nothing important just curious.

Maybe when Ada 1 comes back to the Tower next Season, she will bring it with her Q-BZ For now, there is no way to get it.

Also, there is a Youtuber named "Ebontis" that makes guides on the various Legendary Lost Sectors, who helped me get several done more efficiently. Usually rolls with Xeno to burst done the Champs, but not always.

YES!!! My Warlock is relevant again. No need to have Ursa Furious Titan (though still helps).

EDIT: Cross in with the latest fully offensive strat;

Also, if you're using the cheese method, there is a better spot that doesn't seem to have as much AOE damage from the fireballs. You will need long range weapons however.

I'm a little bummed that it will be Saturday before I can even TRY this Nightfall, but at least it should be all figured out by then.

Finally got my presage master done, went pretty easy despite me only being level 1312. Got a decent roll with subsistence and holy balls is that thing an add clearing machine, as long as you can kill things in 2 shots you never need to reload and killing things in 1 gains you ammo. Just did a regular strike to try it out and I was just walking around clicking heads with this thing, think I reloaded 3 times before we got to the boss lol

I felt the exact opposite when watching the early guides on this Nightfall. Ursa and Invis were getting things done, but the Warlock Well was popping within seconds (it felt like) and it seemed to me Warlocks had no real support roll to play in the harder content. I think we're all forgetting this is Grandmaster content and even my "PvE god" friends are calling this particular NF torture. I may be waiting to get Adept Pali on a different week, though I would really like the Title.

This GM is difficult. No doubt. Ended up running it three time's on Tuesday as our one buddy didn't get a single Pali drop in the first two and only one on the third run. Meanwhile, i got 5 total.

What it really takes, and i've seen this in quite a few "guides" but my group figured out blind is to to know the tempo of the fight and what's coming next so you're prepared and not caught out. Our first run through we died in the boss room as we just weren't prepared and got caught out of position. Ekugen who has 1900+ GM completions under his belt has the best guide and as it turns out, is basically exactly what we figured out blind. Making use of the boss platform at the back of the room and just rotating back and forth through the tunnel or "oven" as we were calling it is critical.

Now that the cheese has been patched for the final fight, you have to do that legit so its even more important. Being ready for the champion spawns (two sets during the last fight) is critical and if you can melt one as soon as it spawns out of the door up near the boss platform, you then have a lot of breathing room get ready for the next one.

Double banner shield is proven to not be necessary though we've found its successful, safe but just slow.

After 3 completions, I would no longer call it insanely hard IF, and that's a huge IF, your team knows what they're doing and you have rolls setup and you execute them quickly at each phase of the fight. I can get through it with my team but I don't think I have what it takes to take new people through it, just not on that level.

Also who the hell thought Bottomless Grief was a good perk on a weapon... That's what you feel when you get TWO drops with it. Sigh...

It's insane. I spent an hour in there with two really good randoms. I am going to have to study some more video or something.

What keeps happening is that fight on the outside to get into the tank...get rid of the champs and then that boss puts his shield up. It takes a bit to get that shield down and finish him off. 2-3 lives get lost in the effort. So it gets done and best case get inside with 5-6 revives.

Then the big room with the tanks and ads. I was going after psiosn first...we were trying to strategize... it's just too damned much. I don't know how people are doing this and I'm not sure I can do it. I'm starting to think Adept Pali some other time as well. This is crazy.

As frustrating as it was at least that Arms Dealer run last week was something I felt like once I got the right gear and everything dialed in it was "doable." If I didn't see video and didn't believe you guys who had done it I honestly would wonder if the damned thing is possible to do at this point.
