3060 seems way easier to get but I'm using a 2060 super right now so it's not even worth the hassle for 10% improvement. There are a lot of 3060 cards on Facebook locally going for $700 to 750 or more.

3060 is a decent card at $329, but over $400 no
Im too cheap I guess so Ill be waiting forever to upgrade from my 1050ti

I am signed up for all 90s and 80s(October 16th 545 am to Dec 17th 944am.I just added the 90 Hybrids two days ago to my Notify lists. and nothing in 5+ Months.... If you follow Bradsour's database on the EVGA forums(20,000+ in the list still waiting...its much larger then that obviously) you can get a fairly good estimate of how much longer it'll be. I am looking at late spring to summer 2022 as are most others in the 90 and 80 series wait who signed up before XMAS. Sadly, I think its fairly obvious that many will be waiting on Notify emails until late 2022,unless they go scalper prices. In early November on here I said in a Year from now the scalper prices then would seem cheap by Fall 2021 and most thought I was crazy.

It's far from perfect and isn't quite the grill I was hoping for, but it dropped my GPU's load temperatures quite a bit:
Original Panel = 73C
Panel Removed = 62C
Panel Modded = 63C
Panel w/ 3D printed stand-offs = 71C

Yeah I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but it "magically" will not be in stock for people to buy yet the one that is 20% more expensive magically seems to be falling into everyone's laps.

Edit: Just realized I said magical too many times for any normal person... it's early, my brain isn't thinking more than 1 or 2 words past what I just typed.

Exactly. Why would they sell a card for $329 when they can slap a $5 backplate on and put a clockspeed boosting bios on which costs them $0 and then make an extra $60. It's really a no brainer for them and the reason why you don't see any of the budget cards.

I thought the original price of that model was $399 though. Maybe that was the NE price of that card.

I was asking about which EVGA version of the 3060 he bought. The $329 or the $389 version (which I thought was $399). In my mind wondering about like I mentioned earlier that they are only selling the cards with the higher margins on them.

The EVGA 3060Tis are $459, $489, and $499 depending on the model.

I haven't seen anybody yet. But the general trend has been to only sell the highest end models in both the XC and FTW lines in the queue. I am a day one queue for the 3080 XC3 gaming non-ultra and haven't sniffed a notification yet.

Yeah, what I've found so far confirms that, nobody is getting notified for the $329.

FWIW I've been signed up for almost every 30xx card since 2/11. I'm sure I'm waaaay down the list for anything.
 
NE shuffle starts in 50 minutes, 1 - 3060 ($389 evga) plus 2 bundle options, 1 - 3060ti (469 evga) plus bundles, 2 - 3070s (Asus 769, MSI 779) plus bundle options

edit: asus 3060 for 329 too, they probably are still populating it.

See it worked. Nvidia is smart.

By using Best Buy as a store front, they dodged bad PR. Instead of people getting mad at Nvidia for not getting a graphics card, they'll be mad at Best Buy instead.

I can be mad at Nvidia for doing stuff like not making enough cards, or finally nerfing one card but then slapping us in the face by saying "miners will get their own" instead of I dunno... just ditch the mining angle all together then 100% of production for video cards ... goes into making video cards.

I can also be mad at Best Buy for having a feeble (translation: no) attempt at trying to get products into the hands of people and not automated snatching programs, as much as people thing the NewEgg shuffle is a joke the reality is there is a 3+ hour window to enter the shuffle, and then stock is "randomly" distributed, rather than a he (or it) who clicks first through all the clicking that must be done gets it.

Ultimately we should be mad at just Nvidia for such an abysmal launch, for not sticking to their guns. For selling to miners first and foremost & for offloading the majority of their responsibilities to others, like Best Buy.

If I didn't know any better I would be stumped as to why Nvidia a multi billion bordering on trillion dollar company has such a hard time figuring out how to run a online store. They can make money the world over, just can't figure out how to build and decent website "shrugs".
 
Best Buy could easily solve the problem if they wanted to.

I was talking with an employee there the other day. He said they've only received a handful of cards in store. He said every one of them were purchased by real estate investors.

His idea was to have people present a Driver License when purchasing a card, after your initial purchase it would lock you in for a full year and you wouldn't be able to purchase another until your "lock in" was expired. Of course after supply had caught up, the purchase through DL would no longer apply.

Maybe Nvidia in all its wisdom (or lack there of) could take pointers from this employee and apply it to their website.

I like the DL thing. It only works if the employees enforce it, unlike MC.

You'd think that a world leader in "AI" could figure out a way to protect their storefront against bots, but here we are...
