MSI GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X 6GB $299.99

That is a hot deal, considering the GPU landscape today...
i'm sure this won't last long though

What's disgusting is this card has been ~$239 since release. All of a sudden, BAM...$380.

What a laugh...$380 for a GTX1660.
Those were initially....what $220...and they weren't great then.
This addiction continues.

Summer 2019, paid $230 for my GTX1660Ti OC 6gb, It's great for anything 1080p. It can hang in 2K VR resolutions, but above that it tanks.

I paid $265 In August of 2020 for this as a replacement for a 780 Lightning for my sons PC. So glad I bought when I did.

MSI seems to be jacking their $ more than any of the other graphic card makers these days. Under the guise of the tariffs it must me more money in their pockets based on the overall market prices.

Definitely seemed to be priced at "you need something right now? You're going to pay through the teeth for it!" I mean while true getting a 3060 for $329 is just to the right of impossible it seems, to settle for this for "$30 less" seems like such a bad value proposition yet they still get sold. I mean I'm hanging onto my gtx970 with patience until I get what I want at the price I want. It's not like people are rocking 8800 GTS cards and have been holding out for an upgrade all this time! :D

ROFL its in stock right now at $485 sold by newegg business. Newegg will always add their own tax on top of AIB tax. I mean not by little either. 489 for 1660 super. Newegg can go fuck itself lol.

I remember buying the MSI RX 5700 Mech OC with Free Ghost Recon for $329 and I sold it in a system build with Ryzen 5 3600 .. see the new owner a lot and still love's the card .

shows as $489 wtf :( i was gonna order one for $300 but of course its not 300 anymore!

I bought a couple open-box Asus RX5700 Strixes for about $329 early last year. Pretty sad times we live in when $329 cannot even get you what amounts to an entry level gaming card.

Newegg being the greedy bastards they are. Even after AIB price bumps I have seen newegg attach their own 100 premium to all cards lol. The 3070s are always 80-100 or so above amazon pricing when they go in shuffle.

I agree - From what I've seen at least BB sticks with MSRP. Haven't seen any markups.

They don't force bundles on you either btw....

Wow.. and out of stock again at $489 from Newegg..(not even a 3rd party seller).. unbelievable.. wtf is original MSRP on a 1660 Super... less than $300 if I remember correctly.. maybe less than $250-275 right??

And apparently someone is buying them up , even at $489.. that is insane to be that hard up for a mid-range GPU

In 2021 I'd call it a low end GPU.

But it is still 2020 in terms of gpus since the 30 series doesn't exist for most people. That being said, I was very happy with my 2060 6gb while I had it. Struggled a little in fs2020 but still playable. Don't think the 1660 super is that far behind it.

The market is total garbage right now, but really no GPU exists for most users because even this 1660 is actually very hard to get ahold of. None of that changes the fact that you'll struggle to hold good frame rate in games like cyberpunk 2077 with a card like this. I know people need equipment, but it makes very little sense to buy this card for ~$500.

Try $229 as the MSRP. Even the 1660ti wasn't over $300. Although of course when companies like MSI put a flashy plastic black and red fan shroud over it, that totally will add $50 to the price.

Threads like this make me feel very fortunate that I picked up my EVGA 1060 SSC last year for $100 on ebay. It was supposed to be a "placeholder" card while I built my x570 system, but it's not going anywhere for the time being.

Get on the EVGA notify list and you should be able to get a 3060 no problem within a few weeks or try your luck on the Newegg shuffle. Then you can take advantage of the current market yourself and get a really good price for your 1060.
