Here's an off comment, since we were told that a huge amount of this pricing increase was due to tariff exemptions expiring, someone answer me this, why were there 3060s being sold for MSRP and not MSRP + Tariff increase?

Where exactly have you seen $329 3060s other than on launch day in minimal supplies to meet Nvidia's marketing BS? Most of the "real world" prices have been $400-500 depending on the model. The most egregious was the Zotac Twin Edge non-OC was $329 and the "OC" version was $499. You won't see $329 3060's until the tariffs end.

Wait seriously? The 3070 Strix and 3080 Strix are the same size?
Ruh roh...

And that's why I always go big on the case :D
It's partially why I'm going back to mATX towers in a few years. My current limit is 40-45mm (basically 2-slot) for card height, and in this current climate it was already difficult enough to get ANY video card. Fortunately, nabbed a 3070 FE and there's barely 5-10mm or so for it to breathe:

I fit my 3090FE in a CM NR200 and there's even an inch or so on the bottom. I think you can still do ITX, you just have to be extremely picky about which case you use.

Or just get a bigger case and never have to consider it.

Unless someone reeeeally needs sff.

Doesn't matter what launch day stuff was showing, the fact is there were $329 GPUs that were "available". Now if there were in fact tariffs in place on them, they wouldn't have been $329 at all. And that's really my point I'm trying to put across. Point being vendors and AIB partners are using tariffs as a scapegoat for why prices are so high to hide their own greed in the situation. I mean damn you still see FE cards at Best Buy for MSRP, what they're not being imported anymore? That the entire stock is already in the US hiding in some warehouse only being released a little bit at a time for the past months?

That said, I don't think you'll see much in the way of $329 3060s even after tariffs (if there is a time). Too many AIB partners have found out you put $10-20 of additional capacitors/LEDs and you can charge 50% more for a product. They're not going to want to make any of the MSRP versions of the card.

...cause the MSRP was calculated after the tariff increase took effect.
Now that is an answer I would be willing to believe. I mean it makes much more sense that the 3060 is a sub $300 card (I'm not sure how much tariffs add the price)

That said, I'm not quite sold on it. For the simple reason is historically companies try to sell you on a the "pre-tax" cost of said product so that it appears lower than what it really is, whether it's goods in a store or your phone and/or internet provider.

I just got a White 3080 Strix. Of course it doesn't fit, so I have to end up trading it for a 3070 White Strix + stuff.
Orrr.. get a bigger case? $2500 GPU vs $100 case.

I recently sold a 3080 FTW3 for pre-tariff MSRP to one of my close friends and he started complaining about it being "too big of a card" that wouldn't fit in his case, and he "wasn't sure if he felt like getting a bigger case and having to reinstall everything". I said "mother effer give me that card back, I will sell it and then pay someone $100/day to knock on your door and slap you every day for 25 days".

Coal for Christmas, that's what he gets.

Nvidia and their partners don't care if the average consumer ever gets to buy a card...

They probably laugh at all of these posts, not just here but all over the www.

Interesting times

Got my EVGA notification for a 3060 Ti, but every time I try the "unique link" it adds 0 quantity to my cart and doesn't allow me to check out because the cart is empty. What the hell?

is it past your 8 hours?
No, I first attempted it at about 5:20 PM PST, which was barely 7 hours. I tried all of my browsers just in case it was an issue with caching/cookies and no dice. Called into sales support and the rep told me to try different browsers (already did) then to email their support box for RTX 3000 sales to reactivate my link. My 8 hours just ran out about 1 minute ago, or 6:07 PM PST. I haven't had to deal with EVGA support before, but I'm not holding my breath. Most likely SOL.

FFS it took me 5 damn minutes to even find b-stock video cards and there is NOTHING in stock. When you click on b-stock from their menu it just takes you to power supplies so had to just google it to even find the video cards.

You missed out on a $1350 2080ti.

Reply directly back to that email saying you can’t get your order in. That’s what Jacob from EVGA tells everyone and that takes care of any issues pretty quickly.

Congrats on that! So when was the deadline to have your price grandfathered in?

I forget which 3060Ti I went for into the queue, but I do know it was one of the cheaper ones.
Not sure. Is that where the discount came from? IIRC, I registered for the email queue the same day the 3060 Ti's launched.

It’s most likely the price adjustment to charge you the original MSRP. If you get your notify email before April 16th (I think that’s the date) then you still only pay the original MSRP and not the new inflated prices.

I have question about the newegg shuffle. So if I select multiple items does the increase my chances? So in other words if there is a 3060 ti and 3070 I select does that mean twice the chance of being able to get a card? Sorry if all of this has been explained but I am not looking through this long thread for that.

pretty sure your chances stay the same, jus multiplied by X. So if you enter for 1 card, your chance is 1 in 1,000,000. But if you enter for 3 cards, your chance is 3 in 3,000,000. Pretty sure that is close to the actual probability too. It simply depends how many people signed up for that SKU.

As far as I know there's never been an explanation regarding that.

Ok but if I am selected will I have the choice to get any of the cards I selected or do they just give you one that you selected.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure, do they even post rules on how it works? But more likely it's a raffle type situation where you get a chance for each raffle that you do, and doing more raffles doesn't lower your chance at another raffle.
