Giving up on buying a new card

To be honest, I haven't even really tried to shop for a new card beyond a few normal mouse clicks...can't be bothered.
My take: If I can't launch a browser...go to Amazon or NewEgg and buy the damn thing, what the heck is the point.
Sure!...like many I was initially considering an RTX3080 when the MSRP versus specs. were announced.
At that time I figured AMD was so close to an announcement of their own, that I'd wait to compare.
Their cost versus features were more in-line with what I wanted for simracing and so that went right to the top of the list...specifically the 6800XT.
I'd occasionally look at AMD.com for a reference model, if an AD popped up in my email from AMD.
It always led to an 'Out of stock' dead end, so after a few I stopped looking.
If it ever appears for sale...great, otherwise I could care less.
Which ever becomes readily available first, I'll get but I'm not jumping through hoop to do so.
I inherited a GTX770-4GB AMP card as a back-up which had some cheap sleeve-type, failed fans.
I spent $19 for two really nice dual ball-bearing, wide-chord fans.
They cool like the 'dickens' and that seems to do everything I need in simracing for now.

Pretty much this. I refuse to jump through hoops just for the "privilege" of buying a gpu at inflated cost. It'd be one thing if I sold my only gpu and now needed one, but who'd be silly enough to do that?

Same here. I’m not going to invest a ton of my own time and jump through hoops in order to give nvidia or AMD my money, nor will I pay 2 or 3 times the price to a scalper. If I can‘t readily get what I want, I’ll just spend on my other hobbies. I’ve even offered some decent finder fees on CPUs and GPUs and no takers so I’m done.

I put in here a few times to let me know what you're looking for (type of card, not brand or style) and I help folks out. I can get you "A 3080" - but not a TUF 3080/FTW/etc. Moves too fast for that.

I've gotten a 3080, a 3070, and two 6800XTs for me - not really any notable problems other than being on a discord server and responding to the notify.
