How are you guys liking your cards? I have a RTX 3090 in my main rig, but the secondary rig has a 5700 XT. Current card is fine in there, but I kind of want to max performance in a few games at 1600P (it's an older monitor). I was thinking about grabbing another card as soon as I can get one (either RTX or 6800/6900 series) and reselling the 5700 XT on ebay since they've been going for $700. How's the performance? Any major driver issues? (I had the random black screens on my 5700 XT for the longest time).
My Ref 6900XT has been perfect. Nitro+ installer perfect today as well and tested fine. 2080s going up for sale very soon.

I have been loving my 6900XT so far. It has been fun to overclock and has been rock solid as long as my OC was stable. I ended up buying a 3090 FE, but sold it since I have been so happy with the 6900 performance.

I just upgraded from a 5700xt and I'm pretty happy. I game at 1440p so a 6800xt probably would've been enough for most games, but I don't really regret overbuying due to availability issues and the performance is nice to have for VR games. It's also much faster overall of course than a 5700xt and this has meant that I can finally play Black Desert on ultra mode with frames between 50-70fps and I don't have to really worry about FPS in VR games.

I used DDU to clean everything up before installing but as far as driver issues go only things I've had are:
1.) Sometimes my second monitor flickers black for a second
2.) Sometimes the AMD control center has issues and won't open.

It's been much smoother overall than the 5700xt at launch, which was a disaster. If you can sell your 5700xt for $700 I think it's a no-brainer upgrade if you have the money and can get one.

Control center will open if you click the shortcut again rather than the taskbar icon when minimized. I've run into that one as well. It'll get sorted eventually I think and hopefully not regress endlessly.

Was able to pick up a 6900 XT XFX Speedster Merc319 on NewEgg. A little bit on the pricey side at $1399. Had to order a new case to mate the rather huge and long card with the 3900x system which will replace the HTPC in Rec room. See how this works out.

The Merc319 was actually #1 on my want list, but never managed to nab one.

Actually I wanted a reference 6800 XT or 3080 FE, anyways at NewEgg I put all the cards I was interested in on my Wish List. While doing other work I would periodically refresh that wish list and pop, this thing came up. Now I know it was do or die, if I didn't act it would vanish as fast as it appeared, so I acted and it should ship tomorrow. Also NewEgg gave hints on Twitter, like BestBuy does at times before launches which prompted me to open up the extra Window.

Boom shakalaka!

And the rich get richer..... Can't believe how lucky you have been with the 6900xt loto Kyle. Been looking for months to no avail.

Congrats!

Newegg has a shuffle program. It's like a lottery system you have a chance to win a spot to buy a product. If you have Twitter follow newegg they announce it well in advance when the program is up.

Got the Nitro+ off shuffle, just got the Red Devil in stock from a link here in HardForum.

Yeah...screw Twitter and Newegg, right in their Chinese arseholes.

I won't be participating in their version of the Hunger Games.

the first one got snagged instantly, I randomly checked like 35 minutes later and got lucky. Should be a good upgrade from the 1080 ti
Should be a nice upgrade. But it's a lot of money and so far over MSRP it's not even funny. I'm happy to run my 1070 into the ground and just pick up one of these beauties

Excellent, now fix that dreadful mess of cabling.
Once the side panel is on you cant even see it, I have a lot of cabling running behind the other side panel, the cables coming out of the PSU on the bottom, I'm not sure I can do much with those.

You can def clean that cabling up, it's pretty bad lol.
out of sight out of mind. I'm like that as well. as long as it's functional, I don't give two cents how ugly cables look. I always have that OHHHH look when I see these super neat cable runs that looks like something that needs to be displayed like an artist painting on a wall. I ain't got time for all that. Water cooling tubing is the only thing I like looking organized.

You can tell a lot about a person by the cabling they have. When I look for cars & they have an aftermarket stereo in it, I always look behind the dash, if its a rats nest I don't bother. That tells me that the car hasn't been properly maintained. Even if the car looks "Nice".

Don’t look under the hood of the next airplane you fly on. It’ll meet requirements and be routed properly, but it can certainly resemble a rats nest.

Heck, The last plane I was on, I was looking around at all the missing bolts and thinking to myself "How the is this thing in the air right now".
