For someone who doesnt play FPS games and sticks to LoL or dota2 and crap. 51 fps at 1080p is plenty fast. Lower res and detail settings and ur probably at like 80-100 fps in fps games anyways.

Also a good card for x265 decoding or even using it to hardware encode for BlueIris.

Until I source a card im only using a 1050TI. I can play GTA V and some other game on 1080p high settings. I can tell the difference visually even if Im getting 40-60fps with it.

Newegg just got their LP MSI 1650s in and upped the price by 10% over BH

I agree with your point that this card might be good enough for light gamers, but I just want to point out, the RX 570 is faster than this card, and before the GPU shortage you could find RX 570 4GB for around $100-110. Now you have to pay $200 for a card with slower performance (power consumption is significantly lower but tell that to someone who paid 2x more money for lower framerates)

The benefit of these specific versions, and the GTX 1050ti LP's before them, are the ability to easily upgrade an HP, Dell, or similar SFF case and make a very competent entry level 1080p med/high gaming system. You can find i7-4790 and 6700 SFF's off lease with 8-16GB RAM for cheap. i5's in the 6500, 6600, 7500 versions go for as little as $100 in some areas.

When did they make a low profile RX 570? 1070? 2060? They don't.

For everyone who had to upgrade their work from home and school from home setups, this is/was a great way to go if you decided against a laptop.

Unfortunate they are going over $200 now. I managed several when they were $160 upgrading the home office PC's to double as LAN/WAN gaming PC's when the grandkids visit. I have another working as an HT/Gaming PC in the family room.

I'll add that they have held their value in the secondary market. Pre Covid I was able to upgrade from 1050ti's > 1650 GDDR5 and then > 1650 GDDR6 during the pandemic without spending additional $ on the new gear. Just sell the old stuff.

Man. Compared to everything else right now the price sounds pretty good, but it’s $200 for performance less than cards that were selling for about half that on the secondary market just a year ago (Radeon 580).

that stings a lot.
