Seems like they've been removed from most of the nvidia stores around the globe and in their place aib cards. Also noticing that on the nvidia subreddit any discussion of this is being deleted.

The cards were taken off NVIDIA's own store front because they couldn't stop bots from buying them and had tons of trouble with the checkout process. FE cards are now exclusive to Best Buy.

In the us maybe, but everywhere else they've vanished from the nvidia store, uk\eu etc. Up until earlier today they were listed, now suddenly they've all vanished.

Earlier today (cards showing as buy now but were all out of stock) :

Pretty sure that was the plan from the start. For the last generation they were made in small numbers during the launch period.

Which is too bad, because for the price, the 3060ti FE looked superior to other models at $400 MSRP. And that was before the huge price jump.

Remember the whole fiasco when the FE nomenclature was introduced with the 1080 price rise and nvidia's "reasons" for it being the card was "painful to produce" (presumably they were taking a loss on it when it was just a reference card). So the price hike was to keep the FE cards available through the gpu life cycle.

I have to admit it wouldn't surprise me if the current FE cards are hitting them in the pocket as they are very premium feeling build, much heavier than you would think vs the aib cards which are more expensive yet nowhere near near the quality level.

Kyle gives them a bit of a headache in this video, :p

Which I find absolutely hilarious.

You'd think the green eyed monster would have the brains and the know how to make a decent storefront / website. I bet they sub contracted the government to make it. But it makes sense. Nivida just wants the money, they'll let another company take the wrap for not having any product on the shelves & kick the can on down the road.

Best Buy had FEs available last Friday. I tried grabbing a 3090, but got caught in the usual loop of trying to select a pickup location.

Why do people say this? Are you guys just making this stuff up or where do you even get this information from? I've always been able to get founders edition cards sometimes a year or two after they were introduced straight from the Nvidia site or Best Buy. Heck I bought a founders edition 2060 Super straight from the Nvidia site even right before the 3080 was launched.

Sure, but I don't want to wait for a year or two to get my 3060. Besides, Nvidia is free to change business strategies, so "past performance is no guide to future results," as they say.

I had the same issues in the past. I am outside a big city too and couldn't get a 3090FE.

It's the MLID conspiracy I think. AMD was supposed to save the masses from the evil green monster with their abundant supply of parts.

I've always loved the FE cards. They were still making them for the 2080 series as of last May when I bought one. It was the most premium feeling card I've ever owned.

It wouldn't surprise me if Nvidia stopped shipping the FE cards until the tariff situation is resolved. To my knowledge they haven't raised the price on them, and they may not want to.

I'm only saying that I'm confused to where this myth that Nvidia only makes founders edition cards at launch and for a limited time. That has never been true from what I remember. Founders edition cards are sold right up until the next architecture comes out just like with the aib cards.
