Finally released after 5 years of development. Interface works well and have not experienced any issues on custom servers so far.

Would be hilarious a middle finger to EA/DICE if these custom servers become more populated than their latest shittified versions of BF.

I just remember hating BF3, because after the destructible environments in Bad Company 2, I just assumed they would have continued that.

They also massively crippled the Engineer over both Battlefield 2 and Bad Company 2...unless this is a compete fucking remake of all classes, you can count me out
 
I prefer the mechanics of BF4. The weapons were better (more accurate at range) and the vehicle perks/options were better. But the map editing is interesting. Seems like they would've had to make it from scratch? Too bad this didn't happen when the game was new. Would've been a great modding platform.

Nah, it was kinda busted in BC2 if you tried.

There were a few maps you could basically ruin on Rush because you could decimate everything. The attackers would just have to drive through 200 yards of open expanse with zero cover. Which is kind of funny the first time, then you realize it's literally a fun ender for one team.

It was obviously gimped for balancing sanity.

The engineer on the other hand was a comical harbinger of death in BC2. Me and good old Carl Gustav were knee deep in the dead.
 
This looks interesting, can I just re-install my old BF3 game? Or this some funky modded version I need to buy and install?

Yes, install BF3 via Origin...then install and run Venice Unleashed. Very seamless and easy.

There are total conversions in the works, that's the whole point of these mod tools and custom servers....hopefully something will get released which fixes the shortcomings of the DICE developed games. See for instance the trailer for the BF3 Reality mod.



Personally I would be down for a Desert Combat 2 mod.

They did make it from scratch....2 guys in their spare time, hence why it has taken 5 years.
