From the original Reddit posts:
  • Download HXD or another hex editor
  • Start HXD and File -> Open ... the exe which is located in Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin
  • Open up Search -> Go to ...
  • Look for 02A816B0
  • Locate the above mentioned chars
  • Switch the 75 to a EB
  • Save the exe after the change

how the hell did someone figure that out

Probably won't make a difference for me ( :p ) but cool find!

I'm hoping that is an oversight, and not an Intel bribe to sabotage AMD performance on the years most hyped title.

Well, I applied the fix and I am sure it has helped with my 3700X and 3600. However, I am enjoying the game so much that I have not even bothered using an FPS meter. I did the same with RDR2, once I did a couple of benchmark runs.

Yes, one post 120 of a thread for a game play trailer. Just in case someone hadn't seen that post.
yah, but people have gotten in trouble for making threads outside of posts already made is why i brought it up

It's ironically from an old piece of code in an AMD library that I guess they used to set the number of worker threads. If it sees an AMD processor that isn't bulldozer, it sets a lower number.

Does it ? People in other threads mentioned seeing cpu usage go up but no perceived improvement in performance

Where are the studies

If you skim through the original Reddit thread, there are a lot of users pointing out higher CPU usage and around 10-15 fps boosts in general.
Maybe it isn't a hard fact, but it is generally trending that way, which is a definite positive.

If the internet is to be believed if you are running a 3700x or lower you will see some gains but anything bigger than that and you will see increased usage but no real gains or in some cases a drop as it over works some cores but leaves others untouched.

Yep, I have been playing before this fix with my 3700x and 1080ti on ultra at 2560x1440 and it was good. I put an fps counter up for s&g and I was shocked I was at 38-44fps. It seemed a lot smoother than that.

I haven't played the game before this patch but since I've started the game I've had no performance issues what so ever.

Wife is playing on a R5 2600 and RX 580, Powercolor red devil. I can hear the demons being exercised from 2 floors away. I just repasted her too

I'm gonna ask her to try this hack to see what happens
