Cyberpunk 2077

Had to step away, don't know how long decryption took, but the game is on an NVMe SSD.

GTX 1080 isn't really holding up well on medium settings and I'm frankly disgusted about the lack of female genitalia options.

Oh yeah, I also got murdered within the first 10 minutes, it said I committed a crime or something and I was just driving through town so I'm not sure what I did.

Game seems to run well enough with the medium raytracing preset on my 2080ti @ 4k and DLSS set to quality. I loose raytraced reflections, but i'd have to drop DLSS to balanced in order to regain enough FPS to run the reflections. The reflections in some areas are really nice, but i've found in most areas the baked reflections/shaders do the job well enough. DLSS balanced looks OK given how much performance you gain, but I just can't deal with loosing the sharpness.

Overall the game runs better than expected. Just wish I could get a 3080. A 3080 with DLSS set to quality could run the game @ 4k with everything enabled easily if my 2080ti can do the raytracing medium preset.

All of that being said, you can kind of see how long this game has been in development in a lot of areas. The visuals while incredible given the size/scope, a lot of things in the environment look like pretty old modeling/texturing done years ago.

Hmmm. I had DLSS set to AUTO which I think caused some "floaty" textures. Might give quality a shot and see if the performance still holds up.

The performance difference at 4k between DLSS quality and balanced is pretty massive. It's not a huge drop in fidelity, but it's enough that I don't like it. The performance hit of raytraced reflections is huge in some areas, and honestly I just don't think it's worth it, and you're better off increasing DLSS quality.

Oof, performance at 4k max with dlss - 50fps with a 3090

Yep, 3080 here, mix of medium and high settings, 4k dlss, and still seeing areas at 45ish fps and drips to 30.

Rt is gorgeous, but thinking I'm going to have to do without. Not worth sacrificing 60fps.

Just disable the reflections. It's the biggest expense, and the baked in shader effects are done well enough that you won't miss it much.

Turn off Chromatic Aberration for a boost to sharpness.

There's also film grain, which I actually tend to like in games. but turning that off should improve sharpness on distance objects, as well.

Yeah, I turned off motion blur, and both of those. They honestly just make the game look like shit.

Impressed so far. Just learning the ropes. HDR PQ vs scRGB... I'm assuming I go RGB since I'm on a computer monitor. I wish this game had a benchmark.

My 1080ti is doing very well at 1440p so far. Everything turned up except RT or DLSS obviously. Will be interesting to see the difference of the incoming 3090.
Very good to hear.

Now hopefully the damn download reinitiates by the time I get home from work

You want to use hdrpq in pretty much every instance. Scrgb is just wide gamut. HDRPQ supports a wider range up to 10k nit brightness.

Agreed 100 percent. I turn these off in any game when I see them.

Staggering concurrents.. obviously somewhat expected, but will be interesting to see where it peaks.
Not factored here: All the GOG, console and torrent copies.

I had two engine crashes in the hour I just played. Temps were ok. Reloads from desktop after the crashes were quicker than many save game loads... but yeah, got two freezes.
Game looks amazing at 4K with everything maxed, 65-125FPS.
I’d keep playing if I didn’t have to work tomorrow.

I must be old.

The shit is 'special events'?

Is that like DJ crap? Or idiots talking constantly on the front page?
I don't get it either. Why would I watch someone else play a game if I was going to play it? If I was not going to play it (maybe because it is not my cup of tea or blatantly sucks) why would I watch it?
Maybe a number of them are curious if the game is good enough for them to consider but that amount of viewers? I don't know.

The game looks better than the trailers, wasn't expecting it to look this good. I have encountered someone T-Posing but thats the only bug I've seen in the first 2 hours.

Cmon guys, can't we all just like the single OP post about calling out the SJW's and their nonsense, knowing full well by now they literally have nothing better to do with their time on God's green Earth then call out the misuse of gender stereotypes in a completely fictional video game? Let's go back to posting "how big did you make your characters dick" jokes, now those were funny. Man, I expected better of everyone here. Don't give them the time of day.

I have yet to launch the game and decide how large my chars peen will be.

Jokes aside, I'm really excited to launch this tomorrow. I cannot do it now with so little time left in my night, and that darn work in the AM. I might have a sick day coming up here soon though... cough cough. Feel like this game needs to be borderline no-lifed based off the few videos I've seen (been trying to stay in the dark on it story-wise).

Anyone else noticing their not maxing their GPU.

I'm spending a lot of time (especially outdoors), sitting at 45ish fps, but 70-75% GPU utilization. 3080 + 2700. I can't imagine my cpu being a bottleneck at 4K.

Edit: Seems to be related to DLSS somehow. As I cycle through the modes from quality to performance, my fps stays the same, my GPU utilization drops.

I know I'm just starting out and I'm in the tutorials but damn my hacking is craaaaaazy slow. I can't wait to upgrade that. Gunplay feels good.

EDIT: Hacking actually got faster outside of training. Cool.

That is classic CPU Bottlenecking. Turn down CPU-heavy effects.

Why the fuck is that cringey idiot CohhhCarnage an NPC in this game.
I don't mind him at all even if he's a bit too PG for me but this stuff is annoying as shit for immersion. And before anyone mentions it I'm aware that Keanu is in the game but he's an actor which is a much easier pill to swallow.

I look forward to modders removing those elements.

So, other than the key binding I am totally amazed by this game to far. For performance I turned off RT, kept everything on Ultra. I did turn off Film Grain, Cromatic crap, and DOF. Motion Blur is also off cause I cant stand it.

With those settings I was getting around 45-60 FPS starting off as a street kid in 4k. So, I decided to try out DLSS quality and I instantly shot up to around 75-90fps. SO FAR I cannot tell of any loss in IQ, but I am just starting the game out.

The only other weird issue I am having is with my mouse....just seems like there is some odd ass latency issue or something, specially when trying to scroll up and down in menus and in game?

last thing....HDR is AMAZING so far on this Oled!!!

Zeroed in on 1440p with RTX Ultra and DLSS Quality as the best settings for my rig. Seems to get me a consistent 60fps.

Anyone tried the HDR options? Looks a little washed out to me. I'm playing on an LG C8. Set enable HDR games in Windows display options and tried both HDR modes in CP77. I tried bumping the max luminance to 1000 but no dice. Back to SDR for now until I can figure out the proper way to set up HDR. Haven't tried playing a game in HDR before.
