there is a few of us in a discord that were talking about hitting up optimus to see if they would make a block.Ooooh I'm jelly, was thinking about waiting for the HC
That's a great ideathere is a few of us in a discord that were talking about hitting up optimus to see if they would make a block.
Tried for both a 3080 FE and a 5950X in the Best Buy drop this morning but couldn't get either into cart.
Dang, I wasn't even paying attention. What time were they made available?
I had a FE 3090 in my checkout for like 15 minutes it kept saying it was available for pickup then pick another store and back again until it finally said out of stock so getting into the checkout is not really that important lmao.Tried for both a 3080 FE and a 5950X in the Best Buy drop this morning but couldn't get either into cart.
Better to have a job than a $1700 graphics card!I waited all week an had to drive to service call during the drop.
this didn't age wellI don't know that this will be the case. There is generally less demand for AMD graphics cards vs. Nvidia. If AMD has more stock available than the pittance that Nvidia launched with, combined with somewhat less demand, it should make for general availability for longer than 1 second as was the case with Nvidia's launch.
Navi and the Radeon VII were both available for most of launch day (at least several hours) before they sold out.
this didn't age well
Looks like I can.dream on. bots will do the same.
Looks like I can.
In which market ? It seem many market had 0 6xxx card at launch, instead of almost none. You actually didn't. You were 4 times more likely to score a 6xxx card than a 3xxx card on launch day...bots or no bots.
If you are getting those numbers from the polls posted here then I’d rethink. You actually didn't. You were 4 times more likely to score a 6xxx card than a 3xxx card on launch day...bots or no bots.
With their AIB pricing, you're right. Too bad Nvidia is also hoarding chips for Ti models.I’m watching this thread for info about Ampere cards. Who cares about Radeons.
Since I'm not near a Micro Center, are you saying that after a long line up, you can still go there and simply pick up a 3070? Without waiting in line to enter? WHATTTT?Overland park microcenter has at least six 3070s left after morning rush. I saw msi and some Asus ko's
The 3080 Ti chips will likely be pulled from the lot of chips currently used in 3090s. Out of all Ampere cards, I've seen 3090s dropping far more often than the 3080s. I see numerous 3090s pop up across various retailers daily. Honestly, it's not that hard to pick up a 3090 anymore since they seem to drop the most often but they're also the most expensive by a fair margin so their demand is lower than the other models. So I'm not sure if Nvidia is hoarding chips for Ti models since we wouldn't see as many 3090s drop as we do if that was the case. With their AIB pricing, you're right. We all lose.
Meanwhile for the vast majority of people who don't live within a reasonable distance of a Microcenter, we have to play the "can I beat a bot" game... by basically using bot like tools to find them in the first place.Since I'm not near a Micro Center, are you saying that after a long line up, you can still go there and simply pick up a 3070? It is more likely no one is buying 3090s anymore cause they are a terrible value at $1500 let alone at scalper's prices. With the 6900xt due in a few weeks and the rumors of a 3080ti on January the market for them is very small. 3080 continue to be out of stock every where. The 3080 Ti chips will likely be pulled from the lot of chips currently used in 3090s. The 6900XT and the 3080ti are going to be impossible to buy for a few months though. It is more likely no one is buying 3090s anymore cause they are a terrible value at $1500 let alone at scalper's prices. I think this is the first link that I've clicked on in this 60 page thread where it does actually appear to be in stock. I'm still gunning for a 3080 but good looking out!Add to cart is still lit up right now.
