We are already two months (and four days) past the initial lauch date for the nVidia 3080 GPU. Currently, the cards, when available, sell out within seconds, and the only way to get one is through blind luck, to lurk on bot sites for days at a time and fight thousands for the fastest click, or contribute to the problem by selling out your dignity to a dirty, disgusting, low-down, scumbag scalper.

Given the current state of the world, when do you foresee being able to purchase a 3080 as easily as you would purchase a new keyboard?

I really wanted to logically debate this but....I got nothing. 3080ti for $899 anyone?
Fat chance for that expensive ass ddr6x ram, especially if its likely to have 20gb due to the size pairing.
I'd bet $999, and most partner cards at $1099.

I'm guessing March. I saw a few days ago that more stock is coming in December on evga's site but I'm sure those 3 cards will sell out immediately.

Never.

The 3080 is all but dead. We will start seeing regular shipments of the 3080 Super/Ti in February.

This x10. nVIDIA misjudged AMD and the RDNA2 Uarch. They will not do this again.

I see more "Ti/Super" Cards by Feb/March and quietly launched like the 3060Ti was.

Never. 3070 Ti / 3080 Ti will replace their non-Ti counterparts...i.e. the 3070 Ti will replace the 3080 and the 3080 Ti will be a cheaper 3090 with less VRAM.

10gb card is EOL’ed in January. So I put “never.”

NVDA didn't necessarily misjudge, Super/Ti versions were always the expected contingency to counter RDNA2. And now, they can EOL 3070 and 3080 for their somewhat imaginary MSRPs, subtly beat RDNA cards in performance, and creep the price brackets up further for the Super/Ti versions which was the plan all along.
