Love that I am seeing posts around the internet that these video card scalpers are posting "my cost was xxx anyone want it before I return in to xxx."

Good job there Mr. Entrepreneur...... ;)
They still made a killing for the past couple months. It is mostly the 3090s. The bottom has come out on those since the value wasn't there even at msrp. For get it when people were asking for $1000+.

lol, sucks to be them, not. It's crazy because most sites will charge 10%. You can check on StockX for example and payout is near MSRP. These folks are causing these issues just to sell the card for barely any profit. Hope they choke on it.

My message to scalpers:

Hope this is what you wanted
Hope this is what you had in mind
'Cause this is what you're getting
I hope you're choking
I hope you choke on this
I hope you're choking
I hope you choke on this

wait what is going on? Any suffering to scalpers makes my day but not sure what is the news :D

The news is that the scalpers didn't quite think their cunning plans all the way through, so they are now trying to return the merchandise they can't sell.
Wth people. They have been making bank for 2 months now. Cause they are stuck with some inventory you people are acting like it I s a huge win. They can eat the restocking fee and still be ahead thousands of dollars. Hell MC doesn't even charge a restocking fee.
Mate vegeta535 for that killing, they will suffer from long term guilt.
No they won't. They are laughing all the way to the bank and waiting for the next hot ticket items to come out to do it all over again.

Let us have a win to lick the L wounds, please...hahah.

I hope all scalpers die or change. That might sound harsh, let's be honest, I don't game like I used to and don't "need" the card so it's not like it's affecting me much. But the type of person who looks at that situation and thinks, how can I unfairly take advantage of this system? I'm not convinced that this type of person improves humanity.

I saw someone in the FS/FT threads returning a 3090 because no one would buy it at MSRP+shipping.

The 3070/3080 are still in high demand, but the potential buyers for the 3090 seemed to have dried up.

Smaller market to start with. I thought about it, but just couldn't justify it for 1440P/120hz gaming that I do - and my 4k setup is locked to 60hz. The increase on that isn't worth it unless you're doing other things with the card (Titan Jr).

The 3090 should have always been a niche market. A lot of sales were driven by desperation, Nvidia's questionable marketing, and the assumption that AMD wouldn't be up to the task. Things should go back to normal on the ultra high-end now.

Proof?

I still can't buy the card I want without going over retail price.

Like I said in the other post, I have a voucher for a Strix 3090 for 1799 ouch

I walked out of the store to think about it sigh thats a lot of cash for a gpu

I bought one for $1500. I justified it because I don't have any travel planned and I paid nearly as much for my 2080Ti a few years ago. I actually use it for work, too.
On the plus side, I think it may maintain some level of value since it really is a professional card. People were still selling Titans for decent $ well after they were bested by cheaper cards since they do certain things normal consumer cards aren't made to do as well.

Titan owners wanted it even though it's not a Titan. 2080 Ti owners wanted it.

Definitely desperation and questionable marketing.

It’d suck if the move was to pivot scalping amd gpus.
I don’t think the scalpers particularly care what the product is, just that they can empty the well artificially and flip.

Or did you think they are just saying they are going to return it, to instead get someone going "oh crap! i better buy it now, cause if they return it then someone else is going to get it and I have no chance!"

When the Wii scalping was going on, many were doing it at my workplace of the time, with a whiteboard at the wall with the price they got for them and so on, it was fully artisanal back then.

They were ok people that seemed to be good father and everything. It is easy money made on purely luxury items, you really do not need to be bad person in any way to partake in it.

Goddammit Taco, please refer to yourself in the 3rd person. I'm not going to be around every time you break character. :ROFLMAO:
I'm a bit new, was wondering about that.

Also wondering why your post count keeps going down Taco lol. Do you delete posts as a "thing"?

This is a fail post. None of these people are suffering by returning them. Remember when Costco and other stores refused to refund people stockpiling supplies back in March/April? LOL
Seeing as there has been a run on paper products again they might be well prepared for the second wave.

Since when is it illegal to sell something you bought, are you bat shit crazy.
gerardfraser It is more the annoyance than someone went out, bought an item, with no intention to keep it and only to then try and sell it to make profit, thus denying someone who actually wanted said product for their own use.

Now on that though, if people simply stopped buying scalped prices, this would not be an issue. If someone hates scalpers, then they should hate the people buying from them even more!
