Awesome numbers my Crysis remastered game on RTX 3080 ray tracing gets about 30 FPS,AMD knocked it out of the park 90FPS . Now I am mocking the videocardz thing not the poster.
Looks like the first time I may change my routine and I may go wait in line at a store because all I am reading on these reference cards has low counts and less than RTX 3080. Hell I was able to 2 x 3080 online launch day but I think this may be harder to get.
Good thing one of my local stores open at 10AM and another 11AM ,might grab 2 cards and 4 if I can buy more than 1 at a store.

Based on that we can infer that the 6900 XT has 80CU, the 6800 XT has 60 CU, and the 6700XT has 40 CU.

Price guesses? It all depends on where the performance slots in. If the 6900 XT can go toe to toe with the 3080, I'd expect it to cost around $600. But if it's competing with the 3070 then I'd expect it go go for around $500 and the prices trickle down from there.

Do you expect the 6000 series to be competitive with Nvidia 3000 series?

I think these will sell faster than anything has previously. The hole left by nVidia's lack of stock combined with all the scalping has made driven demand into overdrive. Every person on the planet that wants a GPU is buying tomorrow.

Shouldn’t need 30 minutes to read a review. This is just for those that really want/need a gpu right now. Personally I can wait 6+ months and not care so I’ll be able to take my time with the reviews.

If that happens then just refuse delivery if you don't want it. You'll get a full refund.

Eh...usually I’ll read (not skim) at least 3 separate reviews to actually have a good understanding of a product. Can’t really effectively do that in 30 minutes.

Oh I know. Or I just send it back for a refund. But it’d still be immensely simpler to be able to read the reviews even 1 hour before product release.

6800XT is roughly a 2080 Ti in ray tracing basically. 3080 with RT on and no DLSS does 92 in BF:V (vs. 70), 98 in Metro (vs 67), and 96 in TR (vs 82). Basically expect around 20-25% better RT performance on 3080 without DLSS... with DLSS 3080 does 113 in Metro so up to 68% faster in some cases. Obviously AMD is working on their version of upsampling so we will have to wait and see how that turns out.

If you care about ray tracing it’s not competitive. I don’t really care about ray tracing, I haven’t seen anything that impressed me compared to the massive performance hit you take.

NVIDIA has left such a gaping hole in the market that there is no way it can be filled currently. From my information and analysis, AMD projected to grow its portion of the TAM and will have inventory to do that. The sad fact is that NV simply abandoned its customer in that market and there is no possible way for AMD to fill the void.

Stopped by my local CC on the way home tonight to find out what their plan is for people waiting in line when they open tomorrow, and there is already a guy waiting in line! and they told him they don't actually have any cards, he is waiting to preorder. my god. i will pop in tomorrow and see what i can order. he said that all of canadacomputers is getting a total of 40 cards, so like 1 per store, this launch is going to be just like nvidia's.

they had a 3070 in stock, and a lot of 3090's, but they where 2400 CDN! wow.

1 card per store reminds me of the ps2 launch in Oct 2000, only this shortage is even worse. I wonder what nv/amd are going to say on their quarterly investor call about this.

I was planning on hitting two different Canada Computers stores 10 minutes apart. one at 10AM opening and one at 11AM opening.Not sure if I want to even bother now. I am sure my RTX 3080 could hold me over for a couple weeks.Nah who am I trying to kid,I will be at both stores tomorrow and fuck it is snowing now in Kitchener.

haha, ya i would still go, ill pop in at lunch and see if i can preorder something, the reverb is not even close to getting here, so i should not be in such a hurry.

If you hear that some AIBs will not be making cards this quarter, this is why. I know some AIBs have gotten greater amounts of stock because they committed to AMD to build X number of cards where some AIBs would not. So AMD has been shuffling stock to those AIBs that would commit to getting cards to market. AMD is working hard according the AIBs that they want to get as many GPUs on the shelf in Q4.

This makes perfect sense. AMD is definitely going to give Tier 1 partners like Powercolor, Sapphire, XFX who only make AMD cards way more supply. To me it seems like Asus has committed as well in going all out on the 6800xt given they even have a watercooled version ready which they don't even have for Nvidia. AMD is playing it right, why give cards to partners who aren't going to commit and will lean more on Nvidia.

huh? No way in hell AMD is making more from selling SOCs to Sony then they will be making at high end GPUs. Sorry the margins are way too big on the desktop GPUs then Playstation.

Life cycle of console is about 6 years between release.
After a year, the cost to make chips diminishes and in 3 years, it's peanuts to keep churning a profit. They will really make more off the PS5 than off the desktop gpu because next year, they have to make newer, costly PC tech while the PS5 stays the same old tech and with higher margins. They win the long game.
 
I was going to camp out for a 6800xt but seems like MC in houston already had like 50+ people and by 8pm cst. Not going anymore especially with rumors of stock being in the 20s combined. Anyone know where I can reliably find direct links on amazon or newegg? Last few times I havent even found them using search.
 
Since AMD doesn't break out the numbers, we will never know. Enterprise and semi-custom includes consoles and Epyc. Computing and Graphics is CPU and GPU. Last quarter are old gen consoles so expect a significant increase for next quarter. Howver, Epyc is gaining market share from intel each quarter as well and is much more profitable than consoles. And of course we have record breaking 5k CPU sales as well as expected good sales of 6k GPU. Everything will jump up so we have no baseline to draw from and to separate out consoles from GPU from CPU.
