809 bucks with water block , that’s really not bad when others with air coolers are more. Hell that’s cheaper then I can do it my self for. Really want to see what the 6800xt can do on water. Some of the leak over clocking makes me think it might crush under water.

Only gotcha there is that it'll only be usable in a system with a loop. Most of my cards live second lives in aircooled systems, so I always buy a standard card and an aftermarket block.

The auto-notify links were up just for the first batch according to Jacob on Twitter. The product pages originally said shipping Dec 7th and Dec 15th for the XC3 HC and FTW3 HC respectively. Not sure about the hybrids. Now they removed the auto-notify and changed the dates to “Coming Soon”.
 
reading on the discord that newegg has some drops but only via their mobile app....might be an option for some of you.
 
I can confirm that the microcenter in Denver had a bunch of 3090s. No other 30xx cards. My wallet is hurting lol. At least there's a 30 dayr return policy if i have regrets

Yea I am very interested in that one. Ekwb are $160+ and don't even come with a back plate.
 
I bought my 3080 3 days ago, battling bots on best buy. Managd to get one. Delivery is today. Today I received an email "We are having trouble fullfilling your order...."
 
i honestly could never justify the price for 3090 when in two months 3080TI will be out with 20 GB DDR

Still won't be able to get your hands on a 3080ti. Looks like scalpers are giving up on 3090 and becoming more available. Prices are starting to drop on FB around me also for 3080s.

Yeah, the investment costs are too high and they have their sights on the Radeon cards along with 3080 cards for now. Profits they are reaping doesn't make the 3090 a worthwhile risk. I just plan on the fight getting a couple 6800's being just as bad.

It will. This going to be the new normal. Every major release on anything from electronics to shoes will be scalped. So much for people struggling to get by in these trying times. That they can drop 3x the msrp for a hobby.

Nvidia was very generous with the msrp but they clearly didn't think ahead with availability versus demand. They need to do better. They could easily set a higher msrp initially to deter some scalpers and then lower overtime.

Being OOS everywhere helps no one.

They should update their model. LIke Oface said its not really good for anyone but scalpers with scripts to have scenarios like this. Nvidia doesnt gain because they lose out on money, partners dont gain and only some of the smaller retailers that gouge get a little gain. And customers even though they are short sighted and stupid lose because they waste countless hours following threads like this crossing their fingers hoping for an in stock, or they have to cave in to scalpers and over pay.
The net loss to all of us is pretty big.

I had to settle for the 3090 FTW Ultra since Strix and Aorux Xtreme are no where to be found in planet Earth! 5950x are also rare as hell to the point I'm just gonna wait for either Rocket Lake or Threadripper Zen 3 LMAO!

It's a good card. Very satisfied with my 3090 so far.

If anyone wants one I have one new in box for my cost (evga 3090 ftw3 ultra), which was ~$1951 total.. got it via the evga queue system.. should have not bought it but was thinking someone would want it here.

and get tired of giving other people money for absolutely no reason.

In not being cynical its being real. Do you think all the people paying this money were born yesterday? Do you think that price gouging and scalping are a new phenomenon? This is just basic supply and demand thats all the only reason its a little weird is because for psychological reasons the companies producing the product are not charging what the market will bear. Its like wondering when people will stop hiring hookers, the answer is as long as men have penises, never, and as long as those same men have money they will pay top dollar for the latest and greatest toys. And nothing you do or say will ever change those basic human desires.

The simple fact that the cards are sought after itself is all that is needed to drive thousands to millions of people to buy them from scalpers. There is a high that many people get off of knowing they have something other people cannot get, its the exact same thing that powers microtransactions in games and why people will pay a couple grand for a CSGO skin. It just so happens that this item also has a real world performance advantage on top of all that. And you think after thousands of years of financial transactions like this and millions of years of evolution the average neckbeard is just going to wake up one day and say ENOUGH we will do this no more. Haha I got a bridge to sell you man. And I didnt even touch on the fact that there is an entire market of people that actually want or need this performance for work, or other critical jobs and dropping 10k would be nothing to those people.

Supply and demand. We can argue morality, but assuming people won’t pay a premium to get something otherwise currently unobtainable is betting against human nature.
Would you pay $10 over MSRP? If so there’s someone that would pay $10 over that, and so on.

That’s capitalism, for better or worse. It’s a luxury good, and there are other cards out there that will let you game- so it’s not even something critical to operation or without substitute.
 
I understand why it happens guys, and I have nothing against capitalism.

You don't need to convince me of anything. Human nature is what it is.
I'll put it this way..... I hope someday we all get smarter.

And for the record, yes I'm searching for new shiny toys too.
I'm not desperate for them and will not support scalpers though.

I got one via sitting on discord at the right time. But I was also close to paying a scalper too. No one needs a card; it’s annoying, but not really causing problems.
