I'm pretty sure, just want confirmation on AMD/MoBo/BIOS question

If I have a Ryzen board with BIOS flashback feature, and I need to upgrade BIOS for Zen 3 compatibility, but no other AMD CPU - I can do this with the BIOS flashback feature, right? And if so, does it need to be done with no CPU installed, or the (at the time) incompatible CPU can be installed, or MoBo dependent? I know AMD has their program where they'll ship you a CPU, but this would obviously take longer.

Flashback button - yes you can upgrade your BIOS without a compatible CPU. Just need a memory stick with the proper BIOS likely renamed a certain way.

Probably mobo dependent if the new CPU should not be in the socket. Probably read the manual of the board you want... easily available online.

Cool. Thanks. Yes manual instructs how to name BIOS. I don't recall seeing if it said CPU can be installed or not, hence why I asked. Board is TUF x570 Pro Wifi 6. I was doing just cursory reading though and will double check more closely when time comes. Not a big deal though that part. Thanks again.

The TUF Pro was released FOR the 5000 series launch, like maybe in the 2nd week of October 2020.. I'm 99% sure you won't need to use flashback.
