[DEAD] Playstation 5 $499.99 available online only on 11/25 9PM EST | Xbox Series X/S at 9PM EST only on 11/25

Not a great idea in a country averaging 100k+ new COVID-19 cases a day right now.
Nah, 6ft distance is not that hard to follow; it's not like they can jam pack the entire store. Costco, groceries, malls, restaurants are worst and they're o.k. with it. FYI: Covid-19 cases are just cases. Deaths reported related to Covid-19 are not accurate. About half deaths were not from Covide-19. Hospitals get extra $$$ if they report the Covid-19 deaths. In this world and time, it's all about $$$$. Sucks for the newer generations. Anyway, my idea is still the way to go if we wanted to get rid of these bots and scalpers once and for all.

Got my PS5 today via Walmart although is still showing as delayed on my account and I received two emails today telling me my order would be delayed not to mention I never got charge o_O

Honestly it don't seem that bad for the new consoles compared to the 3xxx cards. Seem most people are able to aquire a console if they try. Granted they probably released over a million of each to the market. So many on FB atm for 900+. I really like the one where a guy duct taped a ps3 and a ps2 togather for $750.

Girlfriend got it to cart at Walmart, went to check out then it kicked her out said OOS :/
Same thing here with my wife.
had in the cart, then go to checkout:
Out of stock

We tried with 2 computers and 2 phones at noon, 3, and 6. I had one in the cart and had actually selected my credit card and was hitting the final order button on 3 occasions. Never went through though. I see Amazon got them just after 6 PM as well. I missed an xbox for pickup at a local Walmart by seconds yesterday. Had it in cart and checking out. I missed another one via my phone for local pickup from Target last night at almost 2 AM. I had just layed down and my phone popped. Even though everything was set up in Target (address, payment, etc. on my phone, it asked if I wanted to verify my phone during the checkout process. Gone. T-minus 15 minutes. My guess is this may be the last batch you can get from Walmart before Christmas.

Got it into the cart and hit the checkout button. Now when I try to open the cart I get an issue.

Didn't really want it anyways. I assume that if you didn't manage to get it within the first 60 seconds, you're out of luck.

Problem is, I was looking at purchasing non-game related stuff and can't get to the checkout page anymore... lol.

Processing credit card, waiting for Lucy to yank the football.

Edit: Made me re-enter credit card even though it was saved, then made me re-enter password. Then gone. Thought I had it.

Got it in cart and couldn’t check out. At the pace it goes out of stock you can bet bots are ordering the shit out of them. I think retailers at this point need to start a queue system because something needs to be done about this scalping and bots. I’ll try Sony tomorrow.

I think bots hit it so hard only a few people get in.

didnt even know it was out.
i guess a person is streaming their unpacking:

Purchase 1 off BB this morning around 8AM. Was just checking stock but was able to checkout.

The sony direct thing is open right now. Good luck though.

Just went in to check it out for the hell of it and entered the queue. 1 hour remaining till its my turn. Wonder what'll happen? Will it shut it down automatically once they are out and just boot you out of queue? Or keep nerds hopefully waiting their turn and then tell you to fuck off an hour later?

ill take "fuck off" for $500 Alex

Snagged one from Sony Direct.. required a bunch of steps in preparation though, learned from previous failures. Once Add To Cart appeared, I had order placed in less than 2 seconds. I'll do a writeup when I get a free moment.

If I wasn't such a Dark Souls whore this console wouldn't even matter.

Cool, when did you enter the queue? I just randomly checked before I posted above. I'm at the greater than one hour mark. I later got the nowinstock notification, so I beat them knowing about it. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

However, I'm guessing when you see the over one hour wait, you've already lost. That's what happened yesterday.

I entered ( and still am) in the queue @ 1:10PM PST. Already been over 90 minutes and mine upon entering said "wait time over an hour". Now its 2:40pm, it still says "your wait time is over one hour" lmao.

Kind of a warning here, but if you're using a chrome-based browser, it likes to do something call 'tab discarding', where if it thinks system resources are low it will dump the entire tab to free things up. It won't remove the tab from the tab bar, it will just dump its resources to free up memory. When you go back to the tab, it will basically do a page refresh. Probably not an issue if you're on a machine with tons of ram.

I had Chromium-based Edge up on my work laptop earlier today, jumped into the queue and went on and did some work (i.e. opening other tabs). When I came back to check on the queue, I saw the entire page refresh. Basically I lost my queue spot and it started all over. It did this multiple times and was rather annoying, so I gave up and got some work done (work is more important than a PS5 right now).

I would have lost my shit lol. I already have one, just jumped into the queue to see what happened. After about 90 minutes, zero change. I exited out lol.

I know thread has been marked Dead, so if you're still reading then you may be in luck. PS Direct is the only hope of a PS5 right now. Forget Walmart, most of the B&M's, and anything that isn't localized stock. I've observed the bot makers on twitter to see where they target (and therefore where they aren't targeting) -- they really did score "17,000 Walmart PS5" checkouts in a single drop, etc. I've spent/wasted way too much time on this.

Info is hard to come by because most that have found an angle are keeping it to themselves to buy additional units. I have bigger fish to fry than buying more PS5's so I'll disclose what worked for me (checking out a PS5 in <2 seconds without a bot from PS Direct)

- Distill chrome app pointed at the "out of stock" message for both the disc and digital edition PS5 on PS Direct, refresh set to 5 seconds, and set the alert to "Open Page" once the alert is triggered by the absence of the Out Of Stock message
- Load HotStock phone app, with all stores except Sony Direct de-selected
- Register a PSN account, then get a cheap $1.29 14-day trial key for PS Plus from cdkeys so you can set free overnight Express Shipping for your PS5 order. Apply the key to your PSN account and re-login.
- Add a game or accessory to cart, select Express Shipping. Pre-enter your CC info, and click Review Order (but do not place order). Now you wait.

At this point you're locked & loaded and have to wait for the instock alert from Distill and/or HotStock. The point of adding a game or accessory ahead of time is you can pre-enter the shipping speed, CC and CVC, and possibly be immune from being thrown into the queue. My process was two browser windows: one on PS Direct waiting for Add To Cart to appear, the second browser on the store checkout page, clicking refresh -> re-enter CVC -> (wait a few minutes) -> refresh -> re-enter CVC - never clicking Review Order - this kept my store session live. Once stock went live, in browser #1 I clicked Add To Cart, in browser #2 clicked Review Order -> Place Order and was done in <2 seconds. PS5 arriving tomorrow.

In fairness, there's going to be a lot of people that simply aren't going to pay $1000-1200 for a PS5 on ebay, and if they can stabilize production and have regular 10,000+ unit drops, the botting will be over sooner than later (big IF obviously).
