New GPU's that are 'inverted layout' compatible

FT02 owner here and I'm looking to replace my PC's guts but really want to keep using this case. For those that don't know the motherboard orientation has been rotated so that the 'back' of PC (I/O shield/cables etc) is at the top, this means the GPU is standing upright which some heat pipe designs are not compatible with, I know the 3080's for example are incompatible, or at least the FE edition cards.


Would much appreciate any help with identifying which newer cards would work well in this case. Thanks in advance.

Who said it's incompatible? Heat pipes are not gravity based, so orientation shouldn't matter much. I think GN did a test on this.

To my knowledge, there is no PC heatpipe cooler, which is limited by orientation.

The only recent cards that seem to be affected by this have the new Strix cooler, due to many of the heatpipes bending above the heatsource. I don't believe the 3080 FE is affected by this.
I made two post about it a few days ago (links below) and someone above my posts has confirmed the above regarding the new Strix cooler.

Fwiw, I had a socket 939 motherboard that had a heatpipe from the chipset that only worked in a certain orientation.

Im no expert on heatpipes, but the 'wicking' needed depends on the surface area and finish of the heatpipe interior. Its possible that the cooler manufacturer had some test escapes, or has some sort of special design.
