hopefully they'll add a game to the promo (Cyberpunk 2077!)...GeForce Now by itself is underwhelming...
That’s what I’m assuming they’ll do. Makes sense since it’s been in their RTX showcase and is probably the most anticipated game to come out in a very long time. Also would make sense if AMD cards are competitive to give Nvidia a slight edge in their offerings when purchasing an Nvidia GPU (if you can find one).

I don’t think they’ll bundle a game with no copy protection with the cards. They lock down redemptions to machines with the actual cards in them (have since Pascal at least). Not sure CD Projector Red would agree to that.

Yeah, what did I even get with GeForce Now? Cloud gaming? Jensen bro, I just got your 3090. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Ya I used it a bit when it was free in beta on the Shield. It worked ok, but 3080/3090 owners aren't really the target audience so it's a useless pack in.

I had the same email come in and I cancelled. Got a 3080 XC3 Ultra through the EVGA store. Seems like XC3 variants are being produced in far lesser quantities than the FTW3.

I ended up getting the same card through Adorama. Had totally forgotten that I even had the order there until the email came in (backordered on 9/18). Ended up canceling the Amazon order also due to that. Definitely seems like the "lesser value" cards are being produced in fewer quantities.

I also managed to get a TUF order in at Amazon and trying to figure out if I want to give it a shot as well. TUF seems like it would probably run a bit more cool but I also have pretty strong brand loyalty to EVGA due to their great customer service. Have pretty much only bought EVGA cards over the years. Of course the TUF is totally in limbo also so might be a moot point anyway :)

I’d personally prefer my peace of mind going with EVGA as their customer service has never let me down since I purchased my first card from them 15 years ago. The TUF cooler is better, but for me it’s a non-issue since I’ll be slapping a waterblock on my XC3 as soon as I can get my hands on one.

We have one of each, thankfully I haven't had bad experiences with Asus or Evga as far as customer service. I have yet to have an Asus PC component go bad but those pricey routers... I'm on my 3rd ac86u, they cross ship next day and when it works its powerful enough to run vpn with little slow down(nephews found torrents but don't wipe their on ass). As long as they give me next to zero hassle I will keep buying their stuff.

I’ve heard that ASUS has become more flexible with accepting GPUs for RMA that were taken apart for installing waterblocks or replacing TIM. My previous RMA experiences with EVGA have always been very straight forward even after mentioning I’ve removed coolers during the RMA.

I just don’t have enough ASUS RMA experience to say if it’s enough to grant me peace of mind in the event that something does malfunction.

I think I personally killed a power supply with TEC's and EVGA was a breeze to work with but like I said Asus is quick to just want to send you a replacement so that you are happy. EVGA took care of me and I was open with them about the most likely cause. That will have me as an EVGA power supply at least first customer. I will probably stay both brands going forwards besides cases, they both need some help in design there for my taste.

When will 3080's actually be in stock? Like when can I go online or walk into Microcenter and actually fork over my money and purchase a card?

Come Nov. 18th, I'll be buying a 6800XT instead if I can't score a 3080, which seems unlikely I'll find one by then.

I understand a big release like the 3080 being out of stock the first couple weeks or first month. But we're going on almost 2 months and it's still nowhere to be seen and impossible to purchase.

Has nVidia made any comments on the supply issues?

Yes. They essentially said “fuck this I’m out” and passed the sale of their FE cards to Best Buy and told everyone good luck getting one in 2020.

it is a bad launch. No stock anywhere. And now there are rumors of a 3080 Ti. That is a big fat FU if true. There is no stock of 3080s and they want to paper launch a new card now?

Would love to be a fly on the wall at some of nvidia's marketing/accounting meetings. wtf is going on over there...

Decided to start playing some Witcher 3 in 4K maxed settings today on my 3080... doesn't even break a sweat.

You could probably drops those cards from 30 feet and they would be fine could of been MC just screwing around.

The box on top of the stack looks like a 3070 but the rest look like 3080s tried to sharpen in photoshop it didn't help.
The box near the bottom on the floor is a 3080.

I looked at the one at the top since it was clearest. Figured they were all the same. They do look like 80s though depending on where you look.

Even if Microcenter sells out this week do they get healthy stock do you think every few days or once a week?

I just want a new card desperately by the time WoW Shadowlands comes out and Cyberpunk 2077 both in December.

But would like it sooner 😀

Honestly impossible to tell right now given how bad Ampere stock has been for the 3080/3090. Maybe 3070 yields will be better and stock availability won’t be as bad. But still expect it to rarely be in stock until the end of the year.

Definitely looks like stock is better for the 3070. You're talking about hundreds of cards vs. 10 at MC's...so I'd think NE/BB and places like that will have them at least for a few minutes if you're looking to buy today.
