This trailer will make you want to buy a Xbox Series X, and the $4 a month for GamePass Ultimate should seal the deal!

I did the XBL Gold to Game Pass conversion trick last year. I managed to convince a friendly Microsoft employee to buy a two-year XBL Gold code from the Microsoft employee store, then I did the conversion. I think I am prepaid through 2021.

I want a Series X but I am holding off for now. I usually wait a year or two for the first price drop.

It makes me lol, not a single exclusive shown. Why would it make me want the most confusingly named console ever? Just think of the number of kids who will get an xbox one x by mistake this year :ROFLMAO:

Are you sure this is an authentic Microsoft trailer?

... I didn't hear any mention of TV! or SPORTS!

It’s not. It’s a fan made trailer, but I read in the comments that it’s better than any trailer Microsoft or Sony ever made and they should hire the guy who made it. I’ll agree with that!

M76 - who cares about exclusives when nearly the whole game library is $4 a month for 3 years and available on both PC and Xbox. I’d prefer there weren’t exclusives and games continue to work on both PC and Console alike.

Really what’s not to like about a 2080 GPU level gaming machine with a Ryzen 3700 for $500? It’ll move the game engine / development ball forward for PC gamers and console fans alike!

Who cares about the Xbox when you can use game pass on pc is the point. Most of us here have pretty damn good gaming pc and have no use for the console itself. Only reason I am getting a PS5 is cause they make great exclusives I like. Sure it is impressive hardware for the price but still doesn't take away from a good pc.

The only reason I'd ever consider buying any console is because of unmissable exclusives. I already have a PC. As for games pass I just cancelled it, don't need it, when there will be a game I can't miss I'll pay 1 month then cancel it again for 6-8 months until the next game. I'm not going to fork out 3 years in advance, that's exactly what they are banking on. The service is terrible on PC anyway, so they don't deserve any money. Access to games I never wanted or going to play is not an incentive for me.

It's still a console, with all its limitations. No ultrawide, no keyboard+mouse support, both are very important to me. And I have a PC capable of gaming much better than it already, so no good exclusives = I have zero reason to even look at it.

I imagine I'll get a Series X eventually, but zero chance of me wanting one this year. It seems like a good system and all, but it just doesn't interest me at the moment. We'll see about late next year or 2022.

I'll be getting a Series X for my room so I can play Games Pass games in the living room on my PC but if I feel like chilling in a more secluded environment I can pick up where I left off on the Series X.

I suspect most here, even here, has lesser specs on their gaming PCs than 2020 consoles.

We shall see:

My PC is better and I love Keyboard and mouse controls and enjoy my ultrawide monitor, so I won’t be abandoning PC gaming anytime soon, but I’ll buy one of these 2020 Xboxes for the convenience to easily play games on the HT setup with the family.

Maybe atm. A lot are chomping at the bits to get a 3080 atm. I got a 3950x with a 1080ti atm. I am going to see what AMD has to show them decide. I would of purchased a 3090 by now if I could.

meh. I tried it for a couple months. meh. I never really try other games anymore. Path of Exile and one of the dozen or so Tower Wars type games I have installed.

This does little to make me interested in Microsoft's console or their "pay forever" service. I'm perfectly content to continue to use Steam and buy games two years later for $2.99. I've long been over buying games at launch or riding any hype train - both are wastes of money.

You miss the point entirely. And your post makes no sense.

Games at $2.99 have NO player base remaining if you like Mplayer. And for $1 more a month for the next three years you can have unlimited games instead of one really old title once per month.

With Microsoft’s game pass subscription you can try games on launch day. Flight Sim 2020, Metro Exodus, Gears of War 5 etc. You can play them, try them out, enjoy them while they are popular. Uninstall if you don’t like. No commitment. At $4 a month that’s $50 a year. That’s less than the price of one game and you’ll have access to a couple hundred titles by years end with game pass. Now at $20 a month, I’ll probably go back to buying my games individually. But for the next three years the world can be your oyster for less than the price of one hamburger per month.

PS. In another of your recent posts you recommended a half dozen games to someone that were your favorites. None of those were $2.99 games.

"Were". While $2.99 might be an overstatement, basically every triple A title I've purchased I've done for <$10 by doing what I mentioned in my post. Which is waiting 2 years +/-. This includes DX:HR/MD and the Mass Effect series. This also has the side benefit of having 2 years worth of stability and content patches. I rarely have to deal with incomplete titles or game breaking bugs (although EA/Bioware are known to still have a few that will likely never get fixed).

Everything you've just described tells me all the more that GamePass isn't for me. Like that other post you're mentioning every title listed was single player. I don't care if any of these games have player bases or not. I almost more than actively don't play games that have any form of required multiplayer component nor do I want to. And also like that post you're referring to basically all games that do require a multiplayer component I would consider trash. If you had really read what I wrote, I generally don't find it worth playing more than a single new title once every two to three years. There is no math that makes GamePass worth it. Yay, I can play more games that I don't want to play?

Edit: You've done little to state either why I've missed the point or how my post makes no sense. If anything it seems like I precisely got the point and have made too much sense. All you've done is shown all the more why it isn't for me; but also more to the point shown that I am far outside the customer base that this service is targeting. This is basically for people who like the games you described: people who want to play the latest and greatest brain-dead multiplayer games, FPS' and otherwise.

Some of you guys sound like you don't even enjoy playing games anymore.

This video doesn't necessarily make PC gamers want an Xbox but it should get them excited for the future. Microsoft has already committed to the PC as well as the Xbox.

When a company as big as Microsoft starts to invest this heavily in gaming then others will react. More competition equals more options for us.

Gamepass is excellent and will just keep getting better. Microsoft wants to keep growing the service. EA Play is getting added at no additional cost and now all the ZeniMax devs are coming day and date as a first party company. That's fantastic.

I'm going to go play Doom Eternal because... Why not... It's on gamepass.

I have game pass on PC; phenomenal value. I have a XSX preordered out of impulse but honestly probably won’t keep it. My gaming PC will play all the worthwhile exclusives that come to XSX so I don’t really have a need for one.

I actually am interested in the game pass for the PC. Will probably do that once I'm done building my next rig. As for console, will likely buy the PS5 instead.

OP, I’m with you my dude. How do I score one of these Xbox’s? Are they going to be sold out for months?

Looks like your best option to grab a pre-order has been Microsoft.com directly. Though there has been a dry spell since October 13.

If you camp a retail store on launch day you’ll most likely get one. Otherwise it’s going to be a challenge before Christmas. It always is! I got my preorder in at Best Buy on the initial pre-order day.
There is a discord channel to track in-stock notifications and be alerted when they happen. I was using it for the 3080, but it still wasn’t fast enough. I haven’t been watching it for Xbox since I already have my pre-order, but here’s the discord link. Looks like it’s not active yet, but will probably go live after the official launch.

Honestly I can't hate one Xbox. They coming with the big guns and have the better value. They probably going to win this gen with brute force. While Sony system is solid they are making miss steps with their policies this gen. Kinda dumb how when you on top you think you can get away with the bs. Sony should of learned from the PS3 and Xbone and kept going with what they established with the PS4. Granted I am still not buying one since I have a gaming PC.

What policies are you referring to?

LOL, brought to you by a fan boy site. We all know both consoles are going to have great looking games.

GamePass is awesome, but I still have no interest in the system. Luckily as a PC gamer, Microsoft couldn't care less if I do.
Still, even with their acquisition of Bethesda, their exclusives are kinda weak. People are over Halo, Gears, and Forza. They've been leaning on those franchises for too long.

Censorship, political pandering. Also bending the knee to china.
So...nothing that 95% of gamers actually care about when buying their console of choice?

The reason the Xbox One failed from day 1 after the success of the Xbox 360 was because of they tried to introduce shitty anti-consumer policies that actually directly affected gamers (always connected to the internet, no disc sharing, Kinnect requirement demanding a $500 console price tag, etc).

I know. Sony been anti cross play til recently also. None of it is a deal breaker for other then the game censorship. They don't censor much but still annoying.

So you can play pretty much all the new xbox games interchangeabley on PC or Series X?
