Hello mates! Long time...

So now I have a child who is studying motion graphics and I have not been in the PC building scene for a while.

She spec'd this out and I wanted to get your pro feedback.

Looks like a decent build besides the case, which is just "meh". It might get a bit cramped wiring wise with two mechanical drives in it.

I had to check the Toshiba drives to make sure they don't use SMR, and it doesn't look like they do, so they should be fine.

It's weird to see Best Buy having competitively priced PC parts, when they've historically been known for being way overpriced.

Regarding the case, check out Corsair's new 4000x airflow. It seems to have gotten good reviews and it has a similar look/feel with the 220T.

Regarding the rest of the gear, I just finished a build using that same motherboard but with a 10700K. No issues, everything installed rather smoothly. It looks great inside the Corsair 280x RGB that we used. We also paired it with the iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX. Note that the Capellix comes with a non Pro version of the Commander and it really helps with all the RGB fans coming out of the case and the cooler. You might want to consider the iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX.

Video card wise, depending on when you're going to need the system by, the 3070 is coming out and it'll be cheaper compared to the 2070S. You are going through EVGA so is the plan to do the step up for a 3080? If so, disregard my comment.

I've never built a rig with Platinum so unsure if that's worth the extra $$ but Gold RMx 850 might be enough for your build.

Yeah, with new GPUs launching this month, the 3070 should be much faster than that 2070 super and priced cheaper ($500-$600), but might be difficult to get a your hands on anytime soon. Other than the concerns with the case, it seems like a really solid build she put together!!
