I got stuck on "checking out" after clicking on add to card at Nvidia's site. By the time I got the page to load cart said empty. Good grief this is like the 50th time I've clicked on a card at various stores to add to cart and got nothing.

Same just happened to me.

Close... but never went past.

ROFL same here. I added it to my cart and got stuck at checking out. Can't beat the bots. I mean if this was truly humans checking out I doubt we get beat this fast. I might be buying RDNA 2 but still wanted to play around with this rofl.

I did not use a bot. It's possible.

I know thats what I am saying. That they should be actually reserving inventory when you add it to cart. It would be an amazing solution wont it? lol. If its in your cart you get like 5-10 mins to check out so we are not racing against one another or bots. Sort of a Q. I really love websites that do that. I think they should do that for popular products anyways so everyone who has one in cart is able to check out.

Except if there are enough humans all trying to do the same thing at the same time then some will be faster than others and you get beat indistinguishably the same; in musical chairs if there are 1000 people and 100 chairs then - bots or no bots - there are 900 people getting beat. It doesn't matter how/why.

There's still too much demand. You can use nvidia-snatcher, Distill, keep manually rolling the dice, or just wait. As for AMD cards it will be the exact same situation.

Preaching to the choir. I don't understand any of this. It's not like they won't still sell out if they give everyone 1 min to complete a transaction in cart.

I guess my other post makes more sense lol. They know the stock and it runs out quick so they are already monitoring inventory. I think if you are able to add it to cart they should reserve it for you for 5-10 mins. They know it’s gonna sell out regardless. Make it first come first serve. If I add it to my cart it means it was in stock when I did so reserve it and let me check out. Haha.

MLID was right, bait and switch!
They are changing how to show those objects without them being tied to the store API. Until this morning the bots could get responses from the API even when it was shut down.It would show out of stock in a grey box when down. When it changed they would slow the ping to the API and slowly increase to a flood when it dropped. I don't know if they have a solution for that but that's what one of the groups are looking at.

They are back and not tied to the API currently. They even used one object to show out of stock that would normally say the API is on and then another one that would say it's down on the other card.

Last night it was loading an Out of Stock button way after the site loaded. Now it's not loading anything for me.

I've had 4 orders cancelled and numerous orders in my cart with failed checkouts. Fun release.

Yeah it's definitely getting a little old. Does this qualify as a semi paper launch? Like there are cards out in the wild, but they exist only to torment the unwashed and unlucky masses?

I'm definitely seeing far fewer "Look at my new card" posts compared to past launches.

Look at BestBuy reviews => zero of those having one, total = 3, all complaining not being available, not one with a card. Look at Newegg.com reviews, I counted 56, did not go through how many of those were complaints of no stock. If newegg review ratio is 1 review from every 100 customers, that would be only 5600 cards. I think that ratio on new hardware would be much higher than that, folks feeling more responsible on warning or encouraging others, bragging etc.

That is how Nvidia treated their users, promising available but really not. Why would anyone feel obligated to spend hours and hours trying to get one is really beyond me at this point. I hope AMD has something substantial or just plain hold off the launch.

I just intiated a step up for a 3080. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to fulfill it.

even if scalpers keep buying them up, eventually ebay will be saturated with them to the point they will be cheap enough for scalpers to not buy any more of them. Give it a month or so and I think we will get caught up.

In the meantime youtubers are going recordhunting with free dual RTX 3090's while at the same time telling us not to stress about not beeing able to get cards, how loverly.

I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been cards from Amazon yet. I didn't expect much to be available at launch but I thought a launch day order from them would have shipped by now.

I fully expect not to see a 30x0 card for 5 to 6 months, but by then bot will buy up all the larger vram models.

I'd say 6 to 10 months before we see ANY 30x0 on physical shelves, and 100% it's going to be the low vram cards no one will want.

I received this alert from Amazon this morning at 4:08 am. I immediately checked at 4:08 am and they were out of stock already. Bots?

I was wondering this myself. Could just buy a 2060 or something and then initiate a "step up" to a higher model. I suppose that they should know one way or the other if 20GB is going to be the new norm within 90 days.

what Distill?
It’s a chrome plugin website page monitor. If an attribute on the website changes from out of stock to something else it’ll sound a local alarm. Google distil io local to download.

However, don’t get too excited. I’ve had it for a week. Sitting at the PC, when the alarm sounds and I’m already logged into the website all I have to do is click add to cart and checkout and its still too slow. I’ve had countless cards in my cart and they just get bought out by all the automatic self checkout scripts that are one step more advanced (and Infinitely faster) than distill and manual checkout. If you don’t code, and you aren’t willing to buy (risk) an automated self checkout bot, you aren’t getting a card unless you are OUTRIGHT lucky. There are free bots, but I’ve read the free bots aren’t even getting traction lately. Too many people using them now.

GreenGoose 4:08am you say? Interesting. Which time zone of the US are you in right now? If it's Eastern that means it's 1:08am Pacific which means the only people awake at that hour are people who are strictly nocturnal and enjoy streaming sitcoms or animated series after Midnight. If it's Pacific that means it's 7:08am Eastern which means scalpers are getting their coffee (at least the really serious ones) and have had their bots primed since 6:45am. Also some of these bots have the ability to be set active 24/7/365 so the minute any sites they are targeting have stock the bots immediately go to work. Out!

I think this terrible launch has multiple reasons, Nvidia switching to Samsung 8nm (might have low yield rate), the corona virus lockdown still slows things down, bots buying up stock and high demand in general, because a lot of people are staying at home right now and want to play games.

The next big launch will be the Ryzen 5000 series, I think it will be a good indicator for the RDNA2 launch as well. If everything is sold out in seconds again, we know they have similar issues just minus the yield rate.

ROFL bestbuy keeps showing gigabyte rtx 3080 in stock but you can't add it to card also evga 3090 the same thing. They both have add to cart enabled but when you click it shows out of stock hahah. I am wondering if they are updating inventory and they might show up in stock soon. But been doing that for 15 mins. Even closed browser and did it, when you search they both show add to cart and the go out of stock haha.

Noticed this as well. I'm guessing I will just have to wait for my step up through EVGA.
