Cyberpunk 2077

As much as I don't really want to see YouTube people in the game, I understand why they are doing it, it's actually a very smart marketing move. Fortunately I don't know half the people I've seen added to the game, so it probably won't be too distracting.

in all the videos they released the graphical fidelity honestly does not look like a major step up from current games...maybe without the YouTube compression it will look more high-res but the world building and environmental detail is what has been most impressive...I think Deus Ex: Mankind Divided still holds up today as a cyberpunk graphics showcase which rivals CP2077

Yeah. It looks good and all, but it also looks like a game that's been in development for a long time.

I guess people don't 'need' to fall over themselves to upgrade hardware for this game. That's 'good news/bad news' depending on how you look at it. ;)
Depends on what kind of performance and visual fidelity you want. If you want 4k 120p RTX and all shader effects on, then it's going to take a killer system. If you're good with 1080 30p medium, then much less. That's more or less the same as every other current/next gen title.

yeah, it''s going to be interesting to see the visuals at different levels, and how important RTX is (if at all). I feel like Control benefited greatly from the RTX enhancements, but I think it will be more optional here, unless it ends up being important for the lighting (as opposed to glass).

or maybe the hype for this game got a little too big and it won't be the next-gen reference visual showcase people were expecting ;) ...gameplay should be excellent but maybe the graphics won't be the greatest thing ever

The trailers meet any graphics standards I might have. Of course I want it to look good, but I'm much more concerned about story and gameplay. Still curious, and hope I can do 4k RTX @ at least 60htz + 60+ FFS. If I have to grow into the game in time, I'm fine with that too. Reliving an old favorite in new found fidelity can be fun.

If the game is anything like the trailers in terms of quality I'll be happy. Yea I see low quality character LODs and low res textures, but the environment and city is really detailed and seems like it will be cool to explore.

My concern with the game is if the game will feel right in terms of difficulty, I always felt Witcher 2 had a good difficulty curve, but Witcher 3 always felt like you were insanely strong after level 10 or so no matter the difficulty settings.

Ugch....just what we need, more pandering to these vapid d-grade celebs. Hopefully modders will do us all a favor and remove them from the game.

God damn. People get so worked up over some popular folks getting (likely minor) roles in a video game. Why care so much about something entirely inconsequential?

Agreed. Just treat them like any other actor. Frankly I won't know who literally any of these "streamer celebs" are anyway. So I likely won't even notice. If their acting is fine, then no other aspect of this matters. For people who like the references/memes great. For me, I can just not care or otherwise be ambivalent.

It's not like any of their appearances are going to be major parts of the storyline. They're just there for world building and to add flavor.

I am not getting worked up, I can't stand any of these influencers (whether they are youtubers, instagrammers, ticktockers, or whatever garbage social media platform they reside on) who are mostly parasites that don't actually contribute anything meaningful or of value to society. So why should I be pleased that these mostly talentless hacks are being rewarded with even greater publicity? It's not going to stop me buying the game, but I will happily install any mods that get rid of them.

At the very least, in an interactive experience, we can hopefully take a shotgun to the more self-absorbed, obnoxious, Jake Paul wannbe jerk wads. I mean if that kind of personality gets forced on me too much, its all I'll want to do.

EDIT: Just for reference, the only name I've heard mentioned is Allanah Pierce (sp?) and I have no issues with her. In fact as a fellow fan I'm genuinely excited for her. To be fair, she is playing an NPC with an optional side quest and not extending a real world persona into an unskippable virtual play space. I don't know if any of these internet personalities are going to be what I fear, but my experience with "Influencers" is obviously not a positive one. As always, we'll have to wait and see.

Install Mods to get rid of them lol.

if I didn't know they were going to be in the game I wouldn't have even noticed...I would think they were just some random NPC...honestly Keanu's appearance in the game bothers me more...has the potential to totally break the 3rd wall of immersion...did they really need to hire a big name star for this game?

same, have no clue who they are and don't care so if i happen to run across them then what ever, just another character in the game to me.

Agree x9000. Hate the utube influencers in 2077. I think the graphics are fantastic, and are getting a even bigger Fidelity upgrade next Spring/Summer. I am most concerned with is it fun ? Is the story good, what of the writing ?

On a more positive note,newer footage :

graphics upgrade next spring?...you mean with the next gen console versions?...I'm hoping for an HD Texture upgrade for PC at launch

Why would you hope for / expect that? The Witcher never got one (officially).

Everything that CDPR has shown is the PC versions of the game. With all the HDR and etc already added in. Any major increase in graphics is coming specifically to PS5 and XSX which will support HDR unlike the PS4 and X1X - which obviously the PC will have at launch. I would expect no changes PC side Manny Calavera . CDPR have also stated that buyers of the PS4/X1X versions will get a free upgrade to the PS5/XSX versions - in other words what they're talking about is encouraging PS5 and XSX owners to just buy the PS4/X1X versions of the game earlier and get their free upgrade to the next gen consoles rather than waiting specifically for the next-gen console versions. Sorry if that's confusing, but I'm more or less 100% sure that's what they are talking about.

both Witcher 1 and 2 got major upgrades (Enhanced Editions)
5 years later...

EDIT: And the point of the EE was basically to increase the graphical fidelity in line with next-gen consoles and renew interest on PC. Adding HDR etc. All the advancements that are coming to Witcher 3 EE are not things that CP2077 will need.

the game has been in development since ~2012 so I will not be surprised if the game is not the jaw-dropping graphics showcase that people are expecting

Triple S League confirmed all platforms are getting a graphical fidelity upgrade beyond what each will have at launch.I follow most of the utubers who cover 2077,TSL has so far the best contacts at CDPR. Lilayah said this several months back on their stream(as well, last Spring 2019, that we'd be going to Space/Moon in the game),I trust her. TSL has longish podcasts but the best info on the game, imho.

Yes,but its not just the consoles getting a HD+ upgrade, but PC as well.

PC has that "HD+" upgrade out of the box. nVidia has shown all their screenshots w/ HDR. And every look at the game is on PC, the best looking version - in 4k.

Ehhh I'm taking all of that with a grain of salt. CDPR at this point has given basically their roadmap. Including launch and versions as well as DLC and Multiplayer versions. Heck, even an Anime that is two years out. If there is an "upgrade" coming as soon as spring beyond PS5/XSX versions I'm more or less sure they would've said that now - as that is nothing but good PR for them.

EDIT: Like literally it would just make them sound good. They'd say:
"Hey, we're gonna make the game look even better but we didn't want to delay the game further. So you can enjoy the game in November and in a few months we'll give you higher resolution textures, better, lighting, and more optimized HDR!!!" (or whatever their upgrades would be)

tbh I am more then happy with it graphically as shown now.I want to know more about the Expansions. They signed on for FOUR games with Talsorian,I hope most are single player focused. The studio doing the ANIME has a stellar track record, looking forward to that as I am more an otaku then PC Gamer.

I certainly wouldn't turn down a PC version upgrade, but I highly doubt that will happen. If it does I would keep expectations reasonable. This game with HDR & RTX will already be murdering graphics cards.

you can delay a game 10 times and the final few months will always be a crunch for developers...it's a part of the business

I mean... I've worked a 7 day work week for 13 yrs. Weekends, Holidays, doesn't matter. One day off in-between once a month & 4 days off in-between once a month. Not fun, but not the end of the world, especially if it's only for a month and a half. My best friend works 40-55 days straight every Summer. 40 hr work weeks don't exist much anymore, especially if you're making more than minimum wage.
