What is Official 3080 Sales Time For Thursday?

I should have bought that ventus. I saw it in stock at newegg for about 5 minutes about 7:30AM and that lulled me into a sense of confidence I wouldn't have trouble picking up a card today. I didn't want the Ventus model particularly - but looks like I could have flipped it if nothing else. Cards closing on ebay for $1k left and right.

Don't feel bad, that has been popping in and out of stock for like 12 hours now and I've made it to checkout to pay four times with it always dropping out. It's a tease.

for anyone calling out scalpers or bots, I don't think so. And if anyone DID manage to get one, the chance of them being a scalper is no more than all of us refreshing.

Is there a captcha that can fool AI bots? Maybe etailer should have this for each rtx 3080 order. sigh

I mean, I've seen launches like this in the past, and it's not unusual for SOMEONE in the forums to get through and buy one. I literally haven't seen a single person post that they were able to get one. That tells you everything you need to know.

And if you think this is bad....imagine what the 3090 is going to look like....

I'll be completely honest, I wasn't actually expecting to get one, but that definitely went worse than I thought.

I know when the 20 series launched, I was able to at least get a 2080 to my cart and ordered before all that shit went down (it then got delayed indefinitely so I picked up a used 1070 for dirt cheap.)

I was expecting 20 or 30 members to be circle jerking about getting one though.

Exactly. I was able to actually buy a 2080 if I wanted (which I didn't). This time around, not even so much as an in stock notification.

Nearest MC (parkville MD) shows twelve 3080 in stock. Two MSI gaming, ten EVGA XC3 ultra. "In store only." We all know how that would go. Yeah, get me in the store hoping I'll buy a new mouse and keyboard instead. Which is eventually true.

St Louis Park, MN has the same 12 (same models)... no chance that is legit.

We go through this everytime with everything. You would think I would learn by now. Nope. Wasted time that could have been spent in GM.

Best Buy is still showing out of stock. My local store opens in 15 minutes. I'm gonna either call or go up there. Maybe I'll get lucky and there will be a card or two in stock.... I kinda doubt it tho and am starting to think they didn't actually get any to go on the shelves. They got several of the 2080's when they dropped so I'm holding out a small sliver of hope.

Good luck, you got this

In other words, the only purpose of today's "launch" was to mitigate attention paid to Big Navi, yes?
Well, Nvidia lost a sell and made a number of folks very dissappointed -> Wonder how that is going to work out for Nvidia? You always take care of your customers.

saw a Ventus come in stock on best buy - was watching real time - button lit up yellow - clicked it.
was already logged in, with credit card on file -- should have been two clicks or so... as fast as I could manually click it's out of stock in cart.

darn the bots...
