Not bad looking but it does have some radeon vii about it with the logo choking off the top fins.

Looks nice, but AMD needs to drop the Fortnite marketing and provide some performance details.
 
Dual 8-pin power connectors. Interesting.
Interesting as in? The Vega 56 came with 2 8-pin connectors to, it wasn't known to draw 375 watts. I think most companies will just put 2 8-pins on even if dual 6-pin or 8+6 would have worked. I mean, I guess if I saw a single 6-pin I'd be concerned, lol, but dual 8 pin doesn't really mean much either way. I think I'd of been more surprised/disappointed if it didn't have a dual 8-pin (for their higher end cards). Either way, I'm glad we're starting to see some information slowly drip. The lack of a PCI slot bracket and no ports to connect to a monitor has me concerned though ;). This is such a crappy render, the models in Fortnite where more accurate and looked batter than this. I hope they are putting the lack of effort in this model into their real product :).

Yeah I think people are just trying real hard to interpret whatever little information we have. Dual 8-pin doesn't mean anything these days.

That's an odd example, for a couple of reasons:

The Vega 56 board was shared with the Vega 64, which did draw above 300W (looking at Igor's lab data, it wasn't just spiking past 300W, there were times when it was staying above 300W for a few seconds, even if the average was 295W).

Furthermore, after the RX480 got a bad image for burning out motherboards (since corrected), AMD is a bit more cautious of drawing too much power from the MB. This means the Vega 56, for example, only draws a max of ~ 20W from the MB slot, while something like the RTX 2080Ti draws ~50W. This means AMD is going to rely a bit more on the 6/8-pin power instead of slot power.

Either way, the Vega56 drew slightly more than 225W (on average) from the dual 8 pins with its stock Turbo BIOS, so a 6/8pin wasn't going to officially cut it, anyways.

I hope it is an actual 2 slot design cooler and not like 2.2 or something.

Anyways, my point was simply not to look to deep into it, as dual 8-pins doesnt mean anything in particular besides it could be anywhere from 200w up to around 350w. That's a huge range, so you can't draw much conclusion from it by itself.

So we're in agreement, 8+8 wasn't required, it's just what they chose to do ;). It was just an example of something lower power that ended up (for w/e reasons) with 2 8pins when it wasn't required, it just made more sense. If AMD self imposed not using the 75w from pcie, that doesnt mean it isn't there and doesn't mean having dual 8pins magically meant it was a higher draw card than it was (aka, it was much less then the 64 which used the same connectors). Anyways, I would have been surprised if it didn't come with dual 8s, even if not strictly required. I'm almost disappointed it only has dual 8 pins, lol.
 

I agree with Jay's assetment of the cooler. Ugly and reminds me of Nvidia's 10-series FE cards. However, at least it's not another god damn blower design. AMD doesn't need to make up BS reasons to explain why they put a shitty cooler on their card this time. This cooler at least looks like it should do a good job and let the reference/AMD model of the card run without throttling issues. The possibly lower-end model cooler is fugly as hell, but oh well. If ugly and a bit boring/derivative are the only major complaints to be had about AMD's default cooler this time around then I see it as a good thing.
 
I don't care what the fan looks like because I don't have a window on my case.
Heck!...I'd like to see AMD offer a slightly cheaper version of the same fan without RGB.
I could care less about lighting.
I'd prefer to use that lighting power for additional performance.
Keep the bling and give me the 'zing'.
