Comment under youtube video says that:
Its on PC, this was captured during the July event where press got to play the game and the people who played said this was on PC.

The thought of making a hot chick that looks like Red Sonja wearing skimpy Viking chainmail - I like it.

Why would they switch to DX12 after they've added Vulkan support to the engine (and used it in multiple games)?

I wasn't sure if I was going to pick this up at launch, but Ubisoft made the decision for me. lol

This sort of thing highlights the bloat issue Ubisoft has with their quests.

The spread of scores there from PCgamer, I would be find with, in fairly focused or somewhat shorter game.

But in games which are stuffed with tons of quests just to pad the numbers to say "we have tons of quests". You end up with tons of junk and it doesn't seem to even out in the other direction, either. It will be interesting to see if overall, they learned from the criticisms of Odyssey. Quest bloat, in particular.

I skip whatever I deem bloat and always have. That being said I hope they got more real about that. This looks great if you're an AC fan. I really see a lot of "AC meets Witcher 3" and even some LOTR feel here and there with some of this.

I have little doubt that this, Ghosts of Tsushima, and Cyberpunk will be the three lead games for me closing this year out. Right now the GOTY crown is Ghosts' to lose for me personally. I am hoping I have a triple threat grudge match and real quandry for a final decision.

I went to Uplay to look at the pre-order packages and noticed that the Gold edition (Base game + DLC) is $100 and the Ultimate edition (Base game + DLC + cosmetics) is $120. Then I noticed that apparently you get the Ultimate edition and can play it 3 days early if you sub to their subscription service for $15/m. I think I'll just sub right before the game drops and save a ton of money for the month or two that I play it.

Yup... sub, finish the game then cancel the sub. If you do that in less than 4 months you'll save money.

Who can finish an Assassin's Creed game in under four months?

Admittedly, considering they come with expansion style DLC it is going to take longer than that. But if you compare it, you'd have to be subscribed to UPlay+ subscription for close to a year (Assuming you go for discounted multi-month sub, counting the free month you can get from some promos etc..) for it to even out to buying just one Ultimate Edition game title at or near full price. In the event you think you want to play even 2 Ubi titles a year (at Gold version, even if not Ultimate) , you're likely saving cash bigtime.

Considering we have Watch Dogs Legion (which apparently just came out), AC Valhalla coming soon, Farcry 6 early next year, that Zelda BOTW-style "Immortals" game, the remake of Prince of Persia, and others it may be worth it. Of course, there is also the possibility that playing for a couple of months with a subscription will lead to a vastly discounted sale price game for outright sale, so you can pick up some of those you want to keep forever, for cheap .

If Ubi can do it right, it could actually be beneficial both to the player in terms of value (ie they originally weren't going to give Ultimate Edition content for Plus, but changed on that. Likewise, there was talk it would be streaming only but thankfully its local etc), but I admit I am worried - especially given Ubi's game dev history - of them realizing they rely on subscribers and therefore make every game some hugely padded "it needs to keep you subscribed" live service title without much actual content to justify it for every game type. The other thing that is annoying is the lack of Steam support. To hell with EGS out of principle and I'd admittedly uPlay isnt' the worst thing around, but it used to be that they had a parnership with their games on Steam. That's my store/platform of preference and all of these "subscription" publisher services , from Xbox GamePass to EA to Ubi etc... should have their service work with Steam properly. That is to say, you link / order your subscription service and Steam unlocks all of the games part of UPlay+ for instance for you ; put a little asterisk and set them in a different color in your library to say "You have this because of a subscription, not owning it outright". It would work perfectly ,but its frustrating that so many of these platforms push their own damn client instead.

Preload is available on Uplay

Are they going to do that "Several days before launch, if you get the Gold or better version" thing this time? In the past some Ubi titles have offered some sort of early access usually about 3 days before the release date.

Nothing that I’m aware of. I think everyone gets to play at the same time (relative to their region) - 12am Nov 10th.

Sweet! That means the game unlocks in about 6 hours here (2am NZ time).

Does anyone know what graphics presets the console versions run at? I know they are upscaled 4K (from 1440p), but curious if they needed to make some other sacrifices for the 60fps framerate. I guess we will be seeing version comparison vids popping up in the next few days regardless.

EDIT: I'll pop back on with some early impressions and benchmark video on Ultra @ 4K with 3080.

Damn, not the knocked it out of the park result I was hoping for. Probably my main concern from that review is the disappointment with the combat. This could be a personal preference thing so will wait and see. Just over an hour to go before unlock here. Still tentatively excited.

EDIT: Day 1 patch is 656mb

Here's the benchmark video as promised. Without shadow play recording you can expect an additional 5fps average.

We always get subjective mixed feedback on combat for these. Nothing new. I think the game is going to be really good for any fan of the series.

Any way to get the game below retail? I had a 20% off Uplay coupon from Uplay currency but apparently it doesn't work on pre-orders.

If it's like the last two (seems like it should be), players should have a good idea if it's for them or not. With Demon's Souls coming this weekend, I'm in no hurry to get this yet. Ubisoft usually does deep discounts for Xmas, so that's my plan if it doesn't suck.

Basically what I was going to say. I loved the last 2; Origins and Odyssey and I will love this one too I am sure, but might wait a bit to jump on it.
Maybe if I could actually find a 3080, that would help also. lol

The cheapest way is to sign up for the Uplay subscription service @ $15/m. I haven't seen any discount emails from GMG or Fanatical on this title which is quite surprising as they normally bombard my inbox with 10-20% off coupons for pre-order games..

Just read on Tweak Town 4k and 60fps isnt possible on a 3090 RTX if you can afford both 3090 and this game at full price.
