"It remains to be seen what - if any - changes to the Call of Duty formula this title will bring. It's being developed by Treyarch, one of Activision's three development studios tasked with bringing the Call of Duty franchise to market yearly, with a three-year development cycle. Raven Software is collaborating with the studio, and we know the title will see integration with Call of Duty Warzone: it's likely Warzone will become a Battle Royale companion to all future Call of Duty titles, added to and updated with the latest installments. Watch the announcement video after the break."

Cool stories, great SP campaigns.......I wont get either of these :( What I'll get is the same tiny DM maps that are basically all laser-tag arenas at this point, like every map is an esports match, and cold war era guns in Warzone. Can I at least hope for some kind of PVE mode in Warzone? Like Warzone COD Zombies or something.......probably not.....

Might actually play this one. Cold War stuff interests me. Also, video wont play, set to private.

It was a warning and we didn't listen.

Some of us listened.
But enough of us didn't.

Don't get tricked, bro. Propaganda is everywhere.

Remember to look outside your window and interact with true nature.
Nature doesn't lie the way people do.

I'm a Venezuelan, the Guri was not hit with cyber attacks, the system isn't advanced enough for that, it was hit with 0 maintenance for close to a decade + lack of properly trained staff (and the few that were trained and warned have been ignored systematically).

I'm a mechanical engineer, I've got enough friends that have worked privately and publicly to back this up, not only fellow mechanical engineers but power engineers.

Edit:
BTW regarding Venezuela, Fuck Russia, China, Iran & Turkey, they have worked extra hard to turn and keep the country into a shit hole.

Venezuela's government stated Guri dam was hit with a cyber attack.

https://venezuelanalysis.com/news/14374
"On Friday, Communications Minister Jorge Rodriguez told press that a cyberattack had taken place against the “Ardas” computerized system of the Guri Dam, targeting 3 of the 5 generators and forcing the dam’s turbines to stop. He added that Venezuela would present evidence of the attack to the United Nations Human Rights Commission and to other international bodies."

I'm pretty sure that US sanctions have done a lot more to turn Venezuela into a "shit hole" than you give them credit for. Obama's 2015 executive order designating Venezuela a threat to US national security caused foreign investors and companies to abandon the country, which caused Venezuela's oil output to tank, which caused Venezuela's economic crisis. And the sanctions that Trump imposed in 2017 are estimated to have killed over 40,000 Venezuelans between 2017 and 2018. Additionally, Trump's sanctions have been reported to be making economic recovery impossible for Venezuela. And a UN investigation found that the US' policies towards Venezuela, rather than actions of the Venezuelan government, were responsible for the country's dire state.

Course, Venezuela's oil output tanking wouldn't have harmed the country as much if it hadn't been overly-dependent on oil for its revenue.

Oh God you believe what those useless says... Talk and meet with Venezuelans and then you may grasp that Maduro et al only tell the truth by mistake, the sheer amount of money they have stolen from the country through the years is staggering, just what they have stolen from infrastructure that never even got started beyond a simple TV spot on their propaganda channels dwarves Musk's fortune.

The fact that you bring out the sanctions shows that you know Jack and shit of my country, of how everything was waaaaaay beyond bad prior to any sanction, how the oil industry was strangled internally by kicking every engineer above a certain level at the early 2000s and how since then for any hiring you don't need to have the technical know how, but you need to be a loyal follower of their political believes.

USA has a lot of shit in this world, but in this case they are in the clear, the conspiracy to flood them with drugs was very real in any case.

This is just an example this account did of just 12 visible TV spots way prior to the 2012, accounting 52 Bn usd $, he didn't go looking for special projects just ones with Chávez directly promising them, there were way waaaaaay more. The thing that will always piss me off is that these bastards had the human and economic capital to do an amazing country while stealing just a little and Venezuelans would have voted them to really stay in office, but they didn't even try because they wanted all of the money and not just a bit of it.

So, I'm stupid. First time ever playing the franchise.

Is this like a new addition to the existing game, or am I coughing up another $60 for a new game?

It's a "new game", for whatever that means.

It will absolutely for sure be very much like Every Call Of Duty Game Made, because they sell. I don't know how they will reconcile online play monetization between the free-to-play thing they have vs the boxed games.

Damn. mmk. call me what you will, but having never played these games before, I'm hooked. =X

In gameplay feel, Modern Warfare was a huge departure from the earlier CoD games which were more or less stuck in 2005 (CoD 2). I'm not sure if this will play like MW in a different setting, or go back to the older style of feel. But they do them annually.

I have talked with Venezuelans. Some of them (not all of them) have held views more like the Venezuelans confronting the then-Canadian FA minister in this video:

I'm not saying that there weren't other issues. But the data is pretty darn clear in showing that Venezuela's economic crisis is directly consequential to Obama's 2015 executive order designating Venezuela a national security threat to the US. Just how US sanctions on Russia in 2014 stopped Russia's then-skyrocketing increase in prosperity, they did the same to Venezuela's.

USA has a lot of shit in this world, but in this case they are in the clear

Regardless of who you believe is the primary force behind Venezuela's suffering, the US is certainly not in the clear regarding Venezuela's suffering. The effects of the US execute order and sanctions has been very large and well documented. And the above GDP images above show that the US isn't in the clear.

the conspiracy to flood them with drugs was very real in any case.

That would be quite an accomplishment considering the monopoly that Colombia (US ally) has on that trade, according to the US government and DEA's own data. But the US has never cared about Colombia flooding the US with cocaine.

Let me know when the adoptive sons of Colombian presidents are caught conspiring to traffic cocained heavily into USA with daddy's approval.

In any case its clear to me that you are one of those that even believe that a unicorn was found in best Korea by one of the beloved leaders that passed away and that chairman Mao is amazing, also you will believe that Venezuela really got a poor malnourished fisherman to capture 10+ heavily armed north American commandos and will also ignore that last night they conceded for at least a month a police station to one of the organized crime leaders of one of Caracas biggest slums after he attacked with the same rifles that the government had given him and threatened to use the anti tank weapons that he also posses.

Correlation doesn't equal causation. Also if you *really* knew Venezuelans you would know that although they know that Trump is a POS they are supporting him over Biden exactly because Obama didn't really do nothing to help actively when asked to.

Keep eating that propaganda mate. Hopefully you will never have to find out in your flesh or your loved ones.

"this feels like a warning not a trailer"
"it was"

It was a warning and we didn't listen.

I had a friend who was born in the Soviet Union, but was now living in Canada. He was very matter of fact about the Cold War. He said the Soviets won the Cold War, and Americans didn't even realize it. They infiltrated the educational system and taught two generations (and counting) their ideology. They just didn't call it "Communisim" to scare people off. Statistics like this are frightening.

On topic: I'll play the game for the SP campaign about 4-5 years from now on a steam sale. I just picked up COD: WW2 and that's the most recent COD game I played.

Yep, they call it liberalism or liberals.

Thanks for the interview link.

However, I can see that you're one of those people who, when you're educated (certainly to some degree) on a topic you presumed you held an instant free-win card for via an appeal to authority of being Venezuelan (though, many Venezuelans hold a view that's different to yours), that you make a bunch of strawman arguments and then just call the challenging information propaganda.

BTW, I don't recall any story about Venezuela capturing 10+ US commandos, but Venezuela did capture a group of 31+ mercenaries led by 2 former US green berets. The US persons' passports were made public, one of the two made a video confession, and the head of Silvercorp, Jordan Goudreau, who worked for Trump's security team, confirmed to US media that he organized the invasion and said of the two captured former US green berets, "those are my guys".

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...edly-involved-in-failed-raid-to-remove-maduro

So, unless you're saying that Trump, Silvercorp, and these captured former US green berets conspired with Maduro to create a hoax where Maduro would claim to stop a US-based invasion and coup attempt... then I think it's clear you don't have as good an understanding of what's been going on in Venezuela as you've been presuming.

Juan Guaido had White House meeting with boss of US mercenary firm behind bungled Venezuela coup – interrogation tape
Guaido ‘GREATLY MISLED’ us ahead of botched Venezuela coup – ex-US Green Beret on interrogation tape

Oh, and, Washington Post published the full contract between Guaido and Silvercorp for the coup attempt, which Washington Post says they got directly from some in Guaido's camp. Small detail, but there it is: Read the attachments to the General Services Agreement between the Venezuelan opposition and Silvercorp

Also, shortly before the failed US-based invasion attempt of Venezuela, a former Venezuelan general in exile in Colombia also spilled the beans, during a live radio interview, on a Guaido plot to conduct terrorist attacks in Venezuela, during the covid-19 lockdown, that he helped organize with US advisors: Trump Admin’s $15 Million Bounty on Maduro Triggers Explosive Confession of Violent Guaidó Plot

Yet the Trump administration appears to have made a serious miscalculation by including the retired General Alcalá in the indictments. A former ally of ex-president Hugo Chávez, Alcalá joined the opposition in 2015 and has been linked to various coup plots and planned terror attacks since 2016. He is the highest profile former officer to turn against Maduro and is considered the “leader of pro-Guaidó military personnel.” Alcalá is now wanted both by the United States and by Venezuela.

Alcalá is implicated in a recent plot to attack the Maduro government. On March 24, Colombian authorities seized a truck full of weapons and military equipment, including 26 assault rifles, worth $500,000. Venezuelan intelligence services linked the weapons to three camps in Colombia where paramilitary groups of Venezuelan deserters and U.S. mercenaries are training to carry out attacks against Venezuela. According to Venezuela’s Communication Minister Jorge Rodríguez, these groups were planning to take advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to attack military units and plant bombs. He also linked the groups to Alcalá.

These allegations proved to be correct, as Alcalá, in a video he posted online hours after the indictments, admitted that the weapons were under his command. He further admitted that the weapons were purchased with funds given to him by Juan Guaidó, with whom he allegedly signed a contract. Additionally, Alcala claimed that the operation was planned by U.S. advisors, with whom he supposedly met at least seven times. Aclalá also alleged that Leopoldo López, the founder of Guaidó’s party Voluntad Popular who was sprung from house arrest during Guaidó’s April 30 attempted insurrection, had full knowledge of the terror plot.

Or, it could just be that younger people have been screwed over by older generations, and see politicians that don't even try to hide efforts to court the rich and attack the poor. It's easy to be disillusioned with capitalism when Boomers and Gen X are kicking the ladder away. That's far more plausible than an elaborate conspiracy to infiltrate thousands of Western schools and spend decades grooming students to think less of capitalism.

To get back on track: whatever your political views, it's potentially an interesting story. I just wonder if there will be anything in addition to the plot that will make the solo game worth playing. CoD has a long-running problem where you burn through the campaign in several hours and never touch it again.

Tons of very interesting stories in this age and theme. On the topic of infiltration - one of my favorites is The Charm School by Nelson DeMille. Get it from your socialist library (kidding) when you get a chance.

The new trailer dropped today. Game play looks good. Thank god it's not all cartoony like the last couple Black Ops games. And weapons are real weapons, not some fictitious guns that don't exist. Another cool thing is that not only will it be cross platform, but cross generation on consoles. So it's going to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X and PC all at the same time, with everyone being able to play together regardless of platform. That's cool.

Cross play from KB+M to consoles? Oh my.

<Diablo Butcher Voice>
Fresh Meat.

There's cross play in Modern Warfare. Controllers have a serious advantage with the aim assist.
Aim assist in a MP shooter? You mean some platforms get a built-in aimbot and that's cool? :/

Yes, and it seems like they constantly tweak it. Not a huge fan myself but sadly cross play is a thing to stay. It helps maintain player base over time which = more profits. And less likely for mod support than ever.

I warned about this in the past. It works for some games, console based, simplistic games that wouldn't be moddable that are designed for gamepads. Think Sonic racing games.

It greatly reduces the aiming movement speed when ADS'd when come across an enemy. So, it's not snapping on target, but you can sweep quickly and have it damn near stop on target.

Aim assists with controllers? haha, so they're admitting defeat? :pompous:
