Justice League Official Trailer

My biggest gripe with the super hero movies is the villain that is chosen. I hate it when they go for the obvious and I hate it when the villain is too powerful. I hated Silver Surfer being used in the 2nd Fantastic Four. He's not a real villain and you knew there was nothing the FF could do against him any way. Then in Green Lantern I liked that they didn't go straight to Sinestro but they use Parallax who is so abstract to bring to life. He supposedly has killed all these Green Lanterns and they have no chance but some rookie is able to beat him by himself. I did like in Batman Begins that they used Ra's al Ghul instead of rehashing the Joker in the first movie.

This. My favorite movies have interesting/compelling villains.

BvS's villian (mostly Eisenberg as Luther) was fucking atrocious. Dear god did he over-act

Zack Snyder's Justice League— affectionately called the Snyder Cut— is the director's cut of the 2017 film...this is the film that Snyder intended to make before he was forced to step away from the production to deal with the death of his daughter...

Per Snyder, the movie is made up of "almost 90% complete footage" with a running time close to 214 minutes...the film will only need CG touch-ups, which will reportedly cost Warner Bros. $20 million to $30 million to produce...it will debut on the HBO Max streaming platform in 2021...

I was actually pretty excited about the Synder cut, because every teaser I saw kept saying "In 2 days" so I'm like... fuck yeah get to watch something while on Coronalockdown... but dumbass me didn't realize that it was some bullshit trailer for a trailer garbage, and in "2 days" they simply released a trailer... which really didn't really show significantly more than the trailer for the trailer showed...

Wow! DC is killing it!!!!
I think DC is doing kind of like what Marvel does when they announce all their upcoming movies, see a Batman movie, new Wonder Woman movie, new Suicide Squad, a video game version of that, a video game Arkham world game, Swamp Thing trailer for a tv show, some other show I think..., hell we even see a trailer for Black Adam and they haven't even started shooting that one yet!

I will say the Batman one looks very different from what we've gotten almost like a horror movie, but it is odd that they effectively reboot that character so fucking much, like there were all the Batman movies from the 90s where we got everyone from Michael Keaton to George Clooney, then we got the definitive edition Batman movie by Christopher Nolan and there we go we're done... wait Ben Affleck is Batman now? Ok fine it ties in with the whole Justice League/world that DC is trying to Marvel into a massive franchise... then Robert Patterson in a stand alone film? WTF DC? You do have other characters than Batman & Superman you know!

Yes, but I would consider Batman to be the best comic character of all time.

Marvel has a large roster of different heros, while DC only has a few hits, but Batman still wins.

Yeah I'm not arguing over the popularity of Batman, I just think if DC wants to do a "Marvel" and make a successful Universe they really need to stop going back to their wheel house and rebooting a character consistently every few years, I mean we kind of saw that with Sony & Spiderman but only after they had a rather poor sequels for two versions before they had one that actually did well. I mean I just think they should branch out, I mean Dr. Strange? Yeah people may know him but I wouldn't exactly say he's on the same level as Iron Man and Marvel went to town there. Guardians of the Galaxy? That was definitely a big "Who the hell are they?" moment from me. So it doesn't always need to be about the marquee characters, I mean unless DC IP is fractured like Marvel's was, were Xmen were owned by one company, Fantastic 4 and Spiderman by another, Avengers another company then I can kind of understand.

DC is finally creating an interesting cinematic universe...it was also recently announced that Michael Keaton is set to return as Batman in the upcoming Flash movie which is based on the Flashpoint comic (it deals with alternate realities which explains how Keaton can return)

batfleck will be in it too.

I kind of like stand-alone reboots.

With the MCU I'm so lost. I stopped watching and now I'll have to see like 10 films to understand what's happening.

With the new Batman, well, I just have to see that movie.

they should bring in Val Kilmer and George Clooney as well...although Kilmer is not looking so good nowadays...but maybe he can do a quick cameo...

I know, it's silly, but DC is one trick pony where they know they can at least get some money off their trick. It's a safe bet. I'm not saying it's impossible to have great success with another random DC character, but they like it safe and maybe they aren't liking the pitches for the other characters, lack of inspiration, whereas batman is so easy to get ideas off of. Most of the marvel movies revolve around Tony Stark or Thor's universe. Could almost say that they are just using those 2 guys to bring everything together. We'll see how things fare without everyone orbiting Stark. At least they have Thor & Loki for the space stuff still.

Wow, this has never happened (at least I can't recall?). Pretty interesting.

I meant a Directors Cut changed so much. A lot of those scenes in the trailer I don't remember. I don't know, I'm buzzed.
This was my first thought too...I didn't recognize most stuff in the trailer.

Zack Snyder mentioned that he is not using any footage that Joss Whedon shot...it will feel like a brand new movie...Darkseid will play a big role versus the theatrical release where Steppenwolf was the main villain

DC is actually moving away from doing a connected cinematic universe now instead are allowing more creative projects that are allowed to exist in their own world.

Yeah and how many times that has happened? A director cut being almost completely different? That's what I meant.

Interesting, and I can't say I dislike it either no need to copy what someone else does, and going against the grain with creativity does seem like a decent path to go down (e.g. Joker). That said, there are things other than Batman :D

That trailer alone has it seem like an almost entirely new film - I don't think we even saw Darkseid in the original. While I'm glad that this is coming and hope it is uncompromising in both film length and content, I can't help but feel a little disappointed if the direction of the DC film universe was upended on the back of the "bad" versions of "Batman vs Superman" and then "Justice League"; especially if the Snyder Cut receives both fan and critic acclaim.

Batman is over done and over rated, kinda like Nolan, roll out something creative and new.

Warner Bros. has revealed that the Snyder Cut of Justice League will be split into 4 parts (1 hour each)...if you want to watch as a 1 long movie- no worries- it’ll be available as one film some time afterwards...international audience will see it distributed via other venues...

DaFuq? Does WB really think people are incapable of watching a 3-4 hour movie? Or are they going to charge each 1 hour section as a movie and just buttfuck you right to the bank?

I think Darkseid was alluded to in the dream sequence with a huge "omega" symbol on the ground while all the bat laser blaster things were flying around (and superman was acting like a bad guy). And I think Eisenberg's Luthor kind of said something about "he's coming" with it being vague, but to be honest that whole movie was kind of forgettable, like the vast majority of other DC movies, except for maybe a couple action scenes I really can't be bothered to remember too many specifics.

Havent seen trailer yet. Is this gonna be another SJW propaganda piece? We desperately need to return to movies that dont give af about pc.

haven't seen it either yet but i hope it does just to annoy you. ;)

jk but i still want to forgot the theatrical version ever existed and i hope WB deletes any record of it because that crap was atrocious.

likely to milk it so people don't buy hbo max for 30 days to watch the movie and get rid of it after..

Right, I remember some of that but we never actually saw the character himself. Which made it even more disjointed for both fans with knowledge of the comics/characters (ie the paradaemons, the omega-type symbol etc) and even for those without (ie Luthor's "bell has been rung, he's coming" speech) that the theatrical cut only showed Steppanwulf who really felt like as "miniboss" at most; I was waiting to see Darkseid arrive later on and was disappointed when he didn't since it seemed to be incredibly heavy foreshadowing.

While I'm glad it will be an actual 4-hour movie and I don't have a problem with it being split for those who prefer it, I hope the time between 1-hour releases isn't very long - no longer than a month to get the whole thing ready. It seems like they're betting on some social media and reviewer style "JL Snyder Cut Part 1 Review" comments, discussion etc.. and all that until Part 2 gets the same thing, and so it goes. However I'm worried that if they wait too long it will be difficult for people to compare the film as a whole experience vs a couple of separate scenarios. Lets hope they don't wait longer than a week to release each part.

whedon is waaaay more of an sjw than snyder is and there wasnt any sjw garbage in JL, that i know of. so snyders should be fine.

It's on HBO Max, the only charge is the subscription fee. It's likely being done that way for multiple reasons. To keep people subscribed to HBO Max, giving Snyder and co time between each release for effects and the like, and to make it seem like more of an event. WB is supposedly spending quite a bit of money on doing the Snyder Cut, so them pushing it as more of a long running event makes sense. If you want to watch it as a singular 4 hour movie that option will be there after all four parts are out.

I took it to mean that all 4 parts are going to be available on the same day...they're not going to spread it out like a TV series...it's going to be like the Extended Cut of Hateful Eight on Netflix which was divided up into 4 parts all released at once...would make no sense to release all 4 parts separately, it's a movie

It would make no sense to release all 4 parts at the same time and then later do a 4 hour long cut.
