Was there a news post about a week ago? No? Then why bitch about someone posting about it now? I wasn’t aware of the event until earlier today. Not everyone spends every waking second looking at hardware news.

So, thanks OP for posting this for the folks that didn’t know before hand.

No, because it was essentially rolled-into the already-existing PCB leak.

https://hardforum.com/threads/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3090-ampere-alleged-pcb-picture-surfaces.2000086/

"As we are getting close to September 1st, the day NVIDIA launches its upcoming GeForce RTX graphics cards based on Ampere architecture, we are getting even more leaks. Today, an alleged PCB of the NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 3090 has been pictured and posted on social media. The PCB appears to be a 3rd party design coming from one of NVIDIA's add-in board (AIB) partners - Colorful. The picture is blurred out on the most of the PCB and has Intel CPU covering the GPU die area to hide the information. There are 11 GDDR6X memory modules covering the surrounding of the GPU and being very near it. Another notable difference is the NVLink finger change, as there seems to be the new design present. Check out the screenshot of the Reddit thread and PCB pictures below:"

We don't need yet-another thread when we already have two (PCB + confirm September event and GDDR6X Confirmation from Micron)

So much triggering in this post. Must be a bunch of butt hurt ATI fan boys or something.

Buying an EVGA 3070 Thicc 3 slot cooler edition first sale/discount that pops up (that isn't just $5 or so), so I hope the rumors of partner cards at launch are true 🤞

More importantly, is your bank account?

Nope, but I’m sure I’ll be the sucker buying it this year. I will theoretically have the disposable income for it, even if it is 2k. Though I’ll wait until after Cyberpunk and see if I need more performance to max it out.

Anyone remember when NVIDIA used to be cool and throw LAN parties for their GPU Launches?

They rented out a parking lot in downtown San Jose for the G80 launch, and hired PDXLan to throw a killer LAN Party that kicked off the era of DX10 gaming/computing with the 8800 GTX.

Now they just milk the rich gamers for all their monies and shit on everyone else

They even sent a rep to a LAN party my quake clan hosted (~100 people) but those good old days are gone. Now they’re all about those margins.

Nvidia is going to really be pushing the envelope this round on pricing for several valid (and several not so justifiable) reasons.

I never thought we'd see a $1600 consumer card, and a $900 second tier, but that's what it sounds is likely on the way. Even the midrange is going to see a jump.

With middle card from next gen we can play really much games at max setting on 1080p with very good FPS, maybe because that the prices going up.
Yes some new titles will be at lower settings / FPS but most old will be maxed.
Yes I can't accept 2000$, 1500$ are very high too, but at all I can understand why the prices goes high.

If you are unable to save for two years between product cycles, then maybe you need to better your life situation instead of being envious of what the Jones' have.
Nice of you to cherry pick that one line.

<Thinks back to everyone who threw $1200 bucks++ at 2080 Ti's in a white-rage of excitement over promised features and ultra performance levels...........>
