Hello there

Is it true enabling XMP on a B460M motherboard voids the processor warranty? should i turn off XMP for my system asap? only have DDR 4 2400 ram installed currently, plan on upgrading to faster ram in the future if it's worth while to do, perhaps DDR 4 2666 or if i can find DDR4 2933 ((all board/chipset supports))

I have never heard of such a thing. XMP is the Intel spec for memory overclock and it should be fine to turn it on.

Heard it on a Youtube video recently, so got a little concerned on the matter, if it's fine to have it on, then just leaves alone at this point

It should be fine it's just that NZXT which sells complete systems these days did not turn on XMP in their prebuilt machines even though they sold you the higher clocked RAM and had in their terms that if you turned on XMP it could/would void warranty, but they have since the backlash removed that clause.

Yeah my XMP was off when i picked it up from local PC building place, i turned on myself, then saw the videos on youtube, and just got a little concerned, but guess if it should be fine, then i'm all set i think

Worse case it can cause instability but nothing that will cause any hardware to get damaged.

Oh Ok thats a relief, so far i haven't had any bsods or any crashes period--actually seems more stable than my old Intel I7 7700 Asus G11CD-K prebuilt so far, of course did a clean install of all software on new system.

Good to know. That is kind of silly though as Intel designs the XMP for the safe memory overclock for their CPUs.
