With a phone with a base value of at least 60 dollars when you have an unlimited data plan and opt for AT&T 30 month next plan you can get 1000 dollars off your note twenty ultra or regular pre-order. Stock may be limited when I did mine they only had the black color available for the ultra 512 gig.

Nice deal. I find it hilarious that Samsung couldn't at least match the base S20 specs on the $1000 Note 20 (no 120 Hz QHD display, only 60Hz 1080p). That display is fine by itself of course, but not on a $1000 phone.

Don’t forget the reinforced “plastic” back. I was totally disappointed with the base Note 20

the new plans are so horrible that it's not worth that amazing deal for me. They all have data limits and if you go over those limits, they essentially cut your data off for the rest of the month and the only way to fix that is to go to the next plan up (and you are stuck with that change as far as im aware, yu cant just change it for the rest of the month)... It claims they slow it to "2g speeds" but in reality it's just about shut off, I speed tested it once and was getting 6kbps.
also you get a strict limit on mobile hotspots and you can't even use mobile hotspot on most of the plans. Same with video streaming, majority of plans force you to watch videos in low quality standard definition with no way to change it to HD without switching to a different plan....

1000 dollar phone price is not fine either..it's a phone.

On a side note, perhaps they went with 60khz because of performance bump and needed to save battery life somewhere?
I mean it's really not a phone, it's a portable computer, digital camera, etc that also happens to have a phone feature. saying the current crop of smartphones are "just a phone" is kind of silly.

That still doesn't make sense, because their other phones render at 1080p by default anyways and give you the option of better resolution and higher Hz if you want better performance or battery life. No option here at $1000 is ridiculous.

Spending 1k on a phone is still insane. In a country riddled with people that glorify and brag about the things they bought on credit, it doesn't surprise me that expensive phones sell well... "It's only $40 extra a month!"... as they get into their 50k car with a 7% interest rate on a 39k salary.

You got me there. The fact that people upgrade so frequently is ridiculous. I'm still on a note 8 and have 0 intentions to upgrade anytime soon.... All the people that have to have the latest and greatest phone every year need to chill out.
$1k every 3 or 4 years isn't too bad IMO, but every single year is just stupid.

Pretty much. I'm always amused by the amount of minimum wage workers I see with brand new iPhones and Samsung flagship phones.

that is because they get it "free-ish" with their plan.

It is why they keep increasing the price on these phones. People just spread it out over 2 years and don't seem too bad. Most even trade them in after a year at a loss just to get the newer phone. I have a guy at work who brought a new $70k Navigator last year and he works in the lowest position in the company. The sanding booth and makes $12 hour.

Got ya there, I'm still using a Note 4.
If someone makes a decent phone with a removable battery, headphone jack, and SD card slot, I'm in. (You know, mostly ALL the reasons people bought Android over iPhone in the first place a decade ago)
Until then, my next phone will likely be used 1 or 2 year old for 1/5 the price of this new garbage.

"We've run out of things to actually upgrade beyond faster processors and more RAM, so we've taken even more features away. But hey, there's an eight-lens / 600 Megapixel camera on it!. You don't mind using $200 Bluetooth headphones because we axed the $0.25 headphone jack, do ya?... Our studies show that people who used SD cards and changed their own batteries really aren't important anyway... but hey LOOK, Facial Recognition! ... We put Fingerprint readers in 12 different locations! ... Check out this glass back, just to ensure you have the most difficult time possible should you ever even DREAM of replacing this battery!"

They design phones to appease youtube reviewers that handle the device for 20 minutes and toss it aside. The Unbox Therapy guy should be brought up on conspiracy charges for that alone...lol

The part that's annoying me right now is the various carrier compatibility crap... There's been a few nicely priced phones I would have bought if they worked on VZW CDMA. Makes the 'cheap' 4 line plan I have quite a bit less cheap.

Honestly, for a price of a iPhone 7, $150 getting $1000 off a Note 20 ultra, is a deal in my book. I've been with AT&T for like 20 years or more, it doesn't bother me to stay paying them the $10-15 for 30 months for that phone. It also allows the person with the 7 to get a XR, and my 11 pro max to the other person. You be dumb to not take that offer honestly. That is some good money savings.

You haven't needed a CDMA phone to work on Verizon in years, or specifically since 2015 when Verizon sold the HTC A9 directly without CDMA support. You can activate and use phones on Verizon as long as they're compatible with its LTE bands just like any other carrier. Verizon doesn't whitelist phones either.

... compatible with its LTE bands just like any other carrier. ...

Yeah, said it wrong. ZTE Axon 10 Pro was interesting until I saw it didn't support the VZW bands. The new Moto Edge Fusion something or other also doesn't, and yet more I don't remember by name. Nokia phones don't have those bands either.

Anyone who got on this deal, when you received the confirmation email, did it still show the standard monthly of next? Mine was $48 due to Ultra 512.

I'm right with you. Just upgraded my wife from an iphone 6 to the new iphone SE. I'm on the Note 4 and I'm looking at a renewed Note 9 right now. My phone is getting quite laggy and the battery life sucks. I've been through 3 or 4 batteries I think and the last one was awful out of the box. I actually put the original back in and it's better than my last new one. I could probably factory default the phone and start over again for the 3rd or 4th time, but I'm really tired of doing that. Any ideas on a Note type phone that has a removable battery and headphone jack? I'm over the SD card problem as I'm fine with 128 gb of built in storage.

it always shows the full amount you are paying. The credits are on the bill not on the invoice. Once trade in goes through you start getting credits on the installment portion within 3 bill cycles. It’s retro active to day one so the 3rd bull cycle is going to have 3 credits of $48 a pop to offset the 3rd and first 2 bill cycles and you get credit from there on for full contract term.

I jumped on the deal, I have an S9 to trade and 1k credit towards the White 128GB Note20 Ultra is not bad, just have to pay tax and remaining balance which comes out to $400 plus change. Locked in for 2 1/2 years but I've been with AT&T for 15+ years and have unlimited data since way back so not bad.

Also, Woot had a sale for the Buds+ for $100 which i also jumped on, not a bad deal.

I think I'm going with a renewed Galaxy Note 9 for under $400. Headphone jack, SD card, by no user replaceable battery. I would get a Note 10 lite, but it appears to be a no go on Verizon unless you can get GSM only service.

I'm still running a Note 9, going on two years now, and still pretty happy with it. Nothing has come out that really makes any sense to upgrade from... Maybe Note 11? Honestly, the things I really care about (battery, camera, sound) mean what I really need is to just get a decent camera and portable speaker, and then I'd really like phone that just has a great battery, but no one seems interested in making a phone like the Droid Maxx that had a really good battery.

For the Note 4, you can buy one of those double batteries that comes with a new backplate, but the phone is gigantic enough as is and now with this snapdragon vulnerability, I don't trust that I'll get quick updates.

I miss the replaceable batteries from the phones of yesterday... I had LG V10 and V20, but that series turned into a royal mess, and no flagship level phones have replaceable batteries any more. I guess it's hard to do when you have a glass backplate for wireless charging or you want a more waterproof device... but still, all those engineers can't figure this stuff out?

Uhh.. the note 20 is the note 11 fyi. ;)

I don't have anything to add to this thread other than the title really bothers me. When typing or writing numbers anything ten and under should be spelled out and 11 and up should be numerals. Unless you're putting special emphasis on said number. Also I believe the product is trademarked as 'Note 20' not 'Note Twenty'.

1k on a phone is nothing you use it a ton, perhaps more than anything else in life.

Besides that the s a great deal. You get a note for tax plus a phone. Don't have phone? Pick up a pixel 2 for under 200 on swappa. Turn it in. So worst case you are out 300 to get one of the best phones. Pay 10 per month more and you get the ultra. Let mel know if anyone else can find a phone this good for 300 out of pocket. And existing customers can get this deal. A rarity in the US phone market.

This is why I'm still on an LG G5. When I cracked the screen it took me 5 minutes to replace it. The battery takes more like 5 seconds.

BTW I submitted for the 150 credit last week. Got it today. Galaxy buds live ordered. Cost.. 21 dollars and change after taxes. Seems like a good deal. ;)

Nice, i have the Buds Plus and I'm thinking of getting the Live too for different uses. I should've bought it yesterday since there's also a 10% coupon code i could've used but has now expired.

I got a S10+ last year. I'm considering upgrading because I cracked my screen (no insurance), tanking the value of the S10+. With Samsung's promotion right now, they'll give me $350 credit for the phone. A repair place wants $300 to replace the screen. After trade-in and whatnot, I can get it for $800.

How does one determine ATT value of phone being traded in? I see no options where you can view the value before committing.

they gave a list of phones that were worth $60 and over on the Note 20 trade in for $1000. Any on that list.

You can also call a rep or go into a store and ask, but the list they gave had all the eligible phones, one caveat is that the lower end phones on that list often have to be in great condition to count. Any crack, chip, or issue with the screen or glass and they lose half their value. I turned in a literally immaculate mint condition pixel 2 and received exactly $60 which was just enough for the note trade-in, the same phone goes for $185 on the used market minimum.

dang how do you miss it, lol? On the promotion page there is a small button that says more details and it has all phones that qualify.

Here. I will help you out though lol.

Can somebody explain how this works? Only thing I saw on their website shows that you need to activate a new line?

I have a Note 9, can I just trade it in without changing or adding service?

not how it works. You have to do an upgrade and trade in your phone to get the monthly bill credit. you get credits over the contract term for 24 or 30 months whatever you choose, and the credits start with in 2-3 bill cycles. Now if you cancel the line you owe the remaining balance.

Alost its not free anymore. You get 700 credit now instead of 1000. The 1000 promo is over.
